Have you ever cried when you hear confirmation and you just can’t stop thanking God? And you just can’t stop? Or when He directs you to a song? God is so good!!! We never know what He has in store for us next when we trust and obey. I had to come back on and thank y’all again. And I thank God for leading and guiding me. God’s Blessings continuously 🙏🏾
Thanks so much for entrusting me to speak on this platform! I so enjoyed this conversation. Y’all always give me something to reconsider and wrestle with. Looking forward to future work with y’all 😇🙏🏽
Great discussion. Refreshing to hear like minded believers addressing core issues with "church" and how it is done today. I've thought on this subject a lot and I can only think of one brother who discipled me and he was outside the institutional church system. He did have some faulty theology which I was accepted at the time and have since rejected, but that aside, he had a heart and sacrificed to help me and some other believers grow in the Lord. He lived hundreds of miles away but he would drive up I-95 on his own nickel to visit with me, another brother and anyone else who was interested. He had an honest concern about us and was "hands on" in a way I've never found in the institutional church; not even close. He would eat with us hang out with us and in no way "lorded" it over us. It was one of the best times of my Christian life. Now, I feel like I'm rotting on the vine as it is next to impossible to find those who want to fellowship after the Acts model (i.e. break bread, discuss scriptures, etc.). It being even more difficult as I'm single and the church often overlooks those who don't have families and/or were abandoned by their spouse.
💯 appreciate the comment. I believe we did a video on the church with singles and how difficult it can be. It’s also very difficult to find a church that is walking closely to scripture in terms of fellowship and discipleship. Truthfully in my experience the churches that are more theologically based are worse at life on life discipleship. It’s usually more head knowledge than heart.
@@churchdropout Thanks for your reply; I will have to look for that video. Interesting observation re head vs heart knowledge. I never thought of it like that but I believe you are correct.
I truly enjoyed this. Thank you. To be disciplined by God. Obeying God. And to obey, I must listen to Him. I’ve had to learn to still myself to listen to Him; and I still do. I don’t want to disciple from my own understanding. I MUST be led by the Spirit of God. I don’t want to harm someone by giving my understanding. I am learning and will every day. I thank God for the privilege. This was so good! I thank y’all! 🙏🏾
@ , yes sir, it definitely is a process. Earlier I was trying to remember what the Holy Spirit said to me when I asked Him about discipleship way back. HE just told me again: Disciplinarians of God. 🙏🏾
The church I attend is all about discipleship. I have a mentor that is discipling me since I started going there 3 years ago. I came to faith 4 years ago. When I first started to read my Bible, I wanted to learn how to study it without relying on study guides. I was a JW, and they can only use their study guides. So, I looked on YT and found a few channels that showed how to study on our own. Doing that and by the power of the Holy Spirit I learned that the church I use to attend was teaching not what was in Scripture. Anyway, my current church offers weekly Bible study, but we are divided in little groups. We call it Life group where we do life together. I'm not sure about the other groups, but our group we will get together one of our homes to do fellowship by sharing a meal, worship, and prayer. I love my church. I am looking forward to part two. Tfs.
I love to hear this! I'm glad you seem to have a combination of community and personal responsiblity that's helping you learn to be more like Christ. You took initiative on your own but also found people you could walk with. So awesome 🙏🏽
12:41 This man is cooking!! I feel him in everything he just said, I wanna learn, why in America, is Sunday preaching different from Bible study when it should be the same. Learning how to live life through Christ.. 22:51 another things I believe people aren't aware to what a pastor's job is biblically. This is what Im struggling to understand what does the Bible say about being a bishop and what our realationship with them is
@inchristwithadrianne Hey sis! Just want to commend you and both of my brothers in Christ on having this much needed discussion! You guys did an amazing job 🙏🏾 Be encouraged!
I would say that evangelism is what we do for the unsaved… discipleship is what we do for those who profess faith. But, if we find an unwillingness to grow, we have a problem in the profession. Also, due to the “seeker friendly” movement, it should not really surprise us that there are so many unbelievers thinking they are saved.
I would agree, but I see the point he was making. Like I mentioned, I don't want to kick people out of the kingdom but at the same time I do find that we are wayyy to willing to believe someone is saved just because they said so. We don't require fruit.
@ I totally get that. And I love the heart behind both your platforms. ❤️ But I see that there are two ditches… one, wants to ALWAYS give the benefit of doubt, hoping true salvation will eventually reveal itself. And maybe it doesn’t… And the other, is the kind of legalism that kills faith and stumbles little ones. Bruising reeds and snuffing smoldering wicks… For me, I live with an unrepentant non-displaying “professor” of faith, and pastoral “discipleship” sanctioned his profession with once saved always saved, no matter if it is evidenced or not. You said the prayer, you got wet, you are going to heaven. No worries. You just lose rewards, if you don’t “obey God” but who cares! Heaven bound and no earthly irresponsibility’s will change that. I think that’s dangerous. I think a lot of people that will populate hell have been “helped” in their willful ignorance. That makes me so sad.
Waiting a year to baptize someone goes against scripture. Would you guys agree that the born again experience is a specific moment in time and growth and sanctification is a process?
I think most programs are made to attract people and grow in number. However our current process does not yield disciples. We as Americans struggle with a consumer mindset. Big churches with lights, music, and other attractions feed into the consumer mindset and not one of discipleship or any expectation for all to grow into ministers of the gospel.

@@adamslaura768 Very sad. That's why we have to know for ourselves that we are saved and work it out with fear and trembling.

I believe people make a profession of faith in a moment that is affirmed by a long walk of obedience bearing fruit.
