The best Antares Auto-Tune Pro Tutorial on TH-cam till date. Thank you so much. Also, Can you please make an in-depth 1 hour video about Auto-Tune Pro 11 please!!!
Lu, great job with the video. This is my first time out using Auto-Tune and you helped me get started much quicker that using the 121 page manual. Thank you for going over everything, again, great job.
For me it has been difficult to use Auto tune because I am used to Melodyne, but I have really tried to use graph mode and I still feel that it does not give flexibility. You can't hear the notes you are drawing at the moment, even if it allows you to draw in curves or with midi notes, you would be doing it with your eyes, not listening to what's going on. I would like to learn it because Auto tune has a good sound but I don't like the robotic sound and even having flex mode and humanize, you can notice the false vibratos or that the tuning is exaggerated and I don't find it interesting as a singer or as a producer that the final result doesn't sound real.
I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem, i use ableton live 11, whenever i try to freeze a pitch correct sample or even when i exit the plug in it switches back to the auto section while i keep setting it to graph, does anyone know how to fix this?
I’ve been having issues with autotune resetting as well. I’ve emailed Antares and they have said they’re aware of the issue and are working on an update to fix it.
Informative video great job! In Graph mode is it possible to get the notes listed on the piano keys on the left (like previous versions). Right now almost all the keys are blank except for example G1, G2, G3 etc.
This has to be the easiest autotune pro out now. Autotune pro 9 is more difficult to understand and I use both. The only thing you need in pro x is the density nob when you correct vocals. I always increase density to 100 to make the notes more accurate and correct from there. It took me only an hour to self learn everything. It’s super easy.
It’s not “all new” dude, why are you saying its all new? Its basically just a new skin with some added features. Its an update. The sound is EXACTLY the same as previous version…
You know, you're not wrong but the feature sets is what makes it new with some of them affecting how autotune reacts to the audio. On a surface level you're right but you should give it a dive and you'd probably see why I'm so hyped about it :). Makes my work days faster and simpler! To be honest though, Artist fits most of my needs 🤣
I honestly don't think it's the same.. I had both I think this New version definitely sounds different.. does it sound better different? I dunno I haven't had enough time with it.. but it definitely sounds definitely
Have you tried out reaching Antares customer service? I’ve had really good experience with them, helping me out from license issues to installation issues.
Hey! Just wondering how to make a more natural transition between 2 notes in graph mode? Do I have to select both at the same time and mess with the retune speed? Thanks!
hey bro, im so confused. Copped a new laptop a year ago and was buying products legit none of this crack copy stuff. Not knocking anyone just not for me any longer. Im so confused what is the difference between the perpetual license or the 459 price tag for just the yearly subscription
No worries man! So perpetual will give you that plug-in for life period no monthly payments ever again, the subscription will give you everything as long as you pay the monthly bill. After two years on the yearly price you’d only pay $500 total for everything but you’d still be paying yearly for subscriptions. You may only need one Autotune plug-in so at that point perpetual is the way to go. If you like to constantly be up to date and having many tools to pull from subscription is the way to go
I'm quite intimidated by the GUI for this- especially in graph mode. It reminds me of FL Studio, just like filling the screen with buttons and options. Metatuner looks less expressive but possibly more approachable
You know I’m not gonna lie this is probably why a lot of people kind of avoid it at first, I should maybe make a breakdown video on using graph mode as it’s a lot more simple than it looks ha ha. In a nutshell just like Melodyne the core items are in the center top but outside of that the rest of them really just flourish the tool set
Honestly speaking its like 5-10% better. For myself I'm all about efficiency and finding what will make the work have less friction! It was a no brainer on my end for that reason but there isn't one thing wrong with how I worked in 9 before. I just can do things faster now! :)
This new version is absolutely horrendous when it comes to critical natural sounding pitch correction in graph method. I've made my living off the graph method and critically correcting pitch without artifacts in the previous versions. The moment I upgrade to this, not only did it not translate over the previous versions graph pitch data on projects I've had, but it's completely changed the sound and it's impossible to get this graph method to naturally pitch correct anything. I've spend hundreds of hours learning the graph method and thousands using it for the past few years. This sound is terrible, compared to the previous versions. It's artifacty, it's unnatural sounding, and it's different. They need to change things back to the way things were, and just have the upgraded GUI. They need old projects to be able to be translated into this, and they also need to stop messing up the process. I'm infuriated because it's a lie that they haven't changed the algorithms. They've changed it so much that it's sub par in every level for any professional grade work. It's fine if you don't give a crap on if it sounds autotuned or not. But when you're trying to work on high level artists that require natural sounding pitch correction, they've broken the plugin. Melodyne has never been free of artifacts and this weird crispy sound when you move something too much. I'm so tired of things making work harder. This is one of those things that really screw with professionals who need things to work on a day to day basis to function. All we needed was for this to work quicker. Not for it to sound worse.
oooph, Your workflow really took a hit with that. Im just curious, Was there a way for you to back track the installation or to get back to a working order? I ask to see if this comes up for others to have a option for them to reach for. I haven't specifically had the issue you're having but you do vocal tuning manually more than I do I'm guessing so I'm sorry to hear you're going through it! I hope you found a solution!
@@MasteredbyLu I think the high end monitoring, dutch and dutch 8c and prism titan converters make it even more frustrating for me because I can hear every detail. So I'm going to hear these small details even more so and it's going to drive me mad. I actually had to reinstall the old version, uninstalling the new version. It was fairly frustrating. What I noticed when I dug even deeper when I recently tried autotune pro x again, was that it left out showing certain parts of the signal it recorded in. These parts were super integral to a deep dive into a vocal..once I enabled those things, it was easier to get a similar result to the old one. The problem is, even after that, when I spent extensive time doing a test correction with both the old one and new one, then comparing both files, using the same methods in the graph method, the new autotune sounded tighter but in a tad more robotic way, and didn't have the same naturalness as the old one. Same retune speed for the blocks, and etc. Something about it is just.. Different. I'm trying my best to get used to it and get the same result but it's really tough and time consuming to do that level of detailed pitch correction now, and especially when theres muscle memory on where the tools are(they've moved so every time I reach to click the button to change the tool, I have to go searching for the new place it's at). I think with some time, and enough work put in, I'll be able to get it to sound the way I need it to. Thanks man! .
@@austinsummersmusic I totally hear you on that when I saw the new GUI it did throw me off for a bit but I’m glad the results are closer for you now. Also I have yet to do any critical listening with the dutches yet! I have the Strauss NF3 and loving them with the Hilo as the transient info is bananas! How would you describe the dutches?
@@MasteredbyLu Those are absolutely lovely speakers you've got there! I'd say the dutch and dutch are often said to be similar to the kii threes, but in reality, they couldnt be further apart from each other. The kii's have a very different top end and don't sound as pleasant to listen to. The dutch and dutch has a very non-fatiguing listen, but also have incredible stereo imaging and great bass reproduction. I've found I leave the dsp alone and don't use it or the Room EQ Wizard software, and neither do many other mastering engineers who are friends of mine because it seems to just sound better without it, especially if you have a really great room. Even KMR audio hated the dsp and couldn't get it right. I bought mine from KMR. I've had a recent experience with the big ATC 110's sofit mounted at masterchord studios and the truth is, it's not as good as the dutch and dutch. Dutch and dutch just has something about it that really makes you feel like you can be confident when working but your ears also don't get tired and it's also a very enjoyable speaker to listen to music on.
I like hear about speakers that fill the void between accuracy and enjoyment. The Strauss have filled that void for me for sure but ATC still has a sweet spot in my heart as the Tough Love Friend we all need.
it's kind of funny how the "iZotope T-Pain Effect v1.02" VST from (2011) does cleaner sounding AutoTune and better Over-The-Top AutoTune warble / wobble effects on vocals than the "Antares Auto-Tune Pro X" VST from (2022) lol.
@Jamestamura98 Do a search for "iZotope The T-Pain Effects Bundle STANDALONE DX VST RTAS v1.02 x86 x64" and you will eventually find a working download for it.
Honestly, anything tailored will always give a specific result but Antares, though other options exist, continues to be the standard. I know a ton of people who will go ham for the Waves Realtime option and its great but just like every plugin, they each have their own sound :)

By any chance can you tell me how to get the rest of the notes displayed? I cant find it anywhere

May I ask whats on your vocal chain?
It changes every song but typically some combination of Q3, parallel compression and MB Compression for a little more shaping

I like how Auto tune key can tell you the key of the best. Then you can send that to each of the other auto tune.
And with pro you can be selective as to which ones receive and don’t receive that info!
