Oh my god, I do this all the time with friends. The one major difference is that whoever's the Demoman goes full stock, gets let back into the initial spawn room on 2Fort by a Medic, and once there's a detonation kill the Medic activates Uber -- so the enemy's killcam is just of an ubered stock Demoman AFK in spawn.
Funny enough, in Highlander this is EXACTLY what spy does, most notably on payload defense. He calls enemy rotations, Uber percentage, and even dets sometimes.
Stickybomb trap used as an actual trap?! What a world we live in now. It's always the most dumb stuff that always works. It's so dumb that no one expects it, not even twice in modt cases.
Damn now you gave me flashbacks to the good old days where you could detonate stickies while taunting and looking around the corner. Damn that was toxic and fun as hell back then
I was imagining some kind of micro-film camera, that lets him mark one enemy player at a time, which highlights them in wallhacks for the rest of the Spy's team. And it shouldn't drop disguise when used. So a Spy could get behind the enemy, find a good target, and them mark them so the Spy's teammates can see them coming and line up a shot. Could be a Medic, could be a MVP Soldier, could even be a Sentry Gun. Just... give Spy SOMETHING that lets him act like an actual spy.
I like the idea of making the red tape recorder able to be placed anywhere on the map to spectate that area, and the enemy team could destroy it like a building
the sound of demo running into the door at 9:13 is amazing especially considering that this man probably slammed his face on his desk again to get a sound like that
Pretty much yeah, a cheating demo can be worked around with, especially if they only use sticky traps. They are probably one of the weakest to use cheats on in my opinion, hopefully I don't eat my words though ._.
Is it even possible to cheat like that as demoman? At that distance I don't think any players passing the trap would be transmitted to the client. That would be very far outside the player's PVS.
We can evolve this strategy further by equipping a base jumper and leaving spawn to set up the tpose glitch, lay stickies, and stand next to resupply so once you kill someone, you can touch the locker and show the victim a tposing binoculus demo in spawn
Sometimes I forget you truly are the master of sound effects in the midst of all the funny shit, cause that tiny little *thump* at 9:13 is just perfection
It's been a long time dream to see a team of cloak and dagger spies in a payload map. Imagine the gates open and there's just no one there then a minute later the engie gets swarmed with 12 spies all at once.

I'm pretty sure this is what the Commander class was gonna be like before they scrapped. I'm also think that the enginner was gonna be able to build cameras for the commander to look through. It was scrapped becuase they thought the idea of a player having the authority to tell everyone else what to do all the time would have been annoying. It's sill really funny that you managed to mimic an early scrapped game mechanic without realizing it.
