imagine if spy could on demand , mimic any type of animation, like a reving up a minigun or scoping when disguise as a heavy or a sniper
That would be very cool to see. But the rev also makes a sound if it's not the Tomislav, so I'm not sure it would fit the acting part of spy.
@@Gis_Animations Spy's voice changes to fit the class he's disguised as, so imagine if that extended to sound effects and when Spy is going "Vrrrrrrrr" or "bang bang" he makes a minigun revving noise or a shotgun blast instead

Honestly if they made a new disguise kit that could do that but only had limited disguises before you had to refill your kit, that'd be fucking lit :)
Here’s another Spy Acting Tip I’ve found to work wonderfully well- disguise as Sniper or Medic, switch your disguise’s active weapon to melee, and run around in circles spamming the “Spy!” callout. Works every time.
And you get points for irony.

I did genuinely know about this before hand, but it's pretty situational and it requires you to have your gun out (and auto-reload off) when 95% of the time you want to have your knife out as Spy. You can also only reload once. I feel it would be more useful if when you pressed R it would do the reload animation no matter what weapon you have out or how much ammo it has.
also if the reload animation didn't abruptly cut because of the length difference
correct me if i am wrong, but i think if you cancel the reload by swapping weapons before it finishes you should be able to fake reloading more than once. this does require like 3 imputs a second on top of movement if you actually want to chain reloads as a real player would. also the animation probably breaks even more if you cancel it
@@xodehwhat5221 The animation kinda stops half way through, so you'd get a half reload. But since it's TF2, people might just blame the half reload to the game's code.

@@xodehwhat5221 yep. usually, disguises don't matter enough in pubs for me to bother fake reloading, but when i do i just keep 1 bullet missing from the clip and swap between gun and knife.

back when ambassador reload used to obstruct your entire screen and crosshair, gotten used to manual, and it's less annoying than having your reload animation activate between each shot you make

The main issue with reloading to convince people that you're not a Spy is that anyone who isn't a Spy (trying to do this) or a total newbie will have auto-reload on. Someone reloading the moment you act suspicious of them/spycheck them is going to look even *more* suspicious; because you should be reloading the moment you stop firing.

Right...yes...auto reload...I do that.
But in all seriousness I've manually reloaded for so long in TF2 and other games that auto reload would completely mess me up.
One thing you can do is fake fire your weapon (which I've only ever seen one spy do because of how obscure it is) and then reload. The problem with fake firing though is that no bullets come out of your weapon so that is suspicious so it would be better to switch disguised weapon and reload that.

I have a spy tip, Disguise and pretend as a friendly hoovy and when they take the bait and welcome their backs, stab them, then disconnect, exit your game, uninstall it, and never come back.

You can also mimic weapons switching with the b key by default to switch to whatever class equivilant thing is in that slot. (b+knife out = melee presented, b+ gun out = primary presented)
Coming to an engineer with your melee out and stocking up at a dispenser, THEN reloading can really sell it!
The problem with this, is the fact it's not exactly on-demand.
You can't use the feature if your revolver's clip is full. If they changed that to not be the case, and you can use it even when your gun is full on ammo, it would be much more reliable.
Not to mention the fact that you can only reload one shot of whatever it is you're holding. I'm suspicious of any soldier or demo that only loads one rocket or pill respectively.

Kinda neat fun fact: At 6:00 there is a heavy. That heavy happens to be another small tf2 TH-camr, Fishtank. I actually immediately recognize dhis name and items, so thats kinda cool.
One of the tips given in the loading screen contains this information, which is also how I got to know about it the first time.
I've known this feature for spy, however its such a small detail that typically no one notices it enough for them to believe you're not a spy, Surprised you were able to make it work as much as you could lol

I've also found that disguising sniper and just crouching and sitting still in a common sniper spot is enough to get ignored in most situations. Can lead to some cool plays

I once got fooled by a spy who was disguised as sniper and had his melee out, I knew something was wrong but I was so confused lol
I once got fooled by a medic spy simply because I shot him a couple times and he didn't lose his cool.
You can also aim as a disguised sniper

There really ought to be more ways for Spy to mimick other class actions and act, like letting you reload at will or even fake fire (perhaps while sound and/or any bullet tracers/projectiles).
At the moment spy is basically move fast do trickstab

Imagine if you could fake shoot, it plays the disguises shooting animation and sounds but no bullet comes out so it may be obvious if you use like a minigun on long distances but a scoped in sniper would be indifferent from its disguise counterpart, what if you could also build fake building as engineer that did nothing, imagine some guy comes out of spawn and tele doesn't take him anywhere at all, or if choke sentry doesn't shoot at the demo

Personally. My favorite thing to fool people with as spy is pressing b while disguised to change my weapon. A medic holding out his syringe gun all the time is obviously a spy but one constantly switching from his medigun to his ubersaw is way more convincing. Really fooled a lot of people with the switching weapon tactic.
I really love disguising as one of my teammates in some random corner of the map as a spy disguising as medic and then everyone rushes you and then you stab them
another tip that helps blending in is pressing ‘B’ since it switches the disguised characters equipped weapon to whatever slot you are holding (revolver = primary , sapper = secondary , etc but doesn’t work when disguised as another spy and some others)
what I do is rapid swap guns & spam B while running back to the enemy base past everyone because they think i’m just an enemy scroll-swapping and running back to spawn to refill ammo or somethign, it’s actually incredible how much people will believe you if you jump & swap weapons, and maybe throw in a crouch there every once in a while.

I do that all the time when I'm disguised and it doesn't sell it as much as reloading I think. Or maybe I never had an Oscar winning moment like Octo because I never tried acting as hard as him
you can spam it but it doesn't look right. in fact, instead of looking like someone spamming 1 2 3 q mousewheel it looks like a spy spamming 1 2 3 while mashing the last disguise button...
This feature is so incredibly cool I just wish it was a little more fleshed out.
You should be able to press (or hold) R at any time regardless of if you actually have to reload and mimic the animation.
Being able to hold it would also let you seamlessly mimic reloading multiple rockets, pills, etc
Could shoot more than one bullet so you have a larger clip to reload?

This actually applies to a lot more things, but can not normally be done. If you somehow have a Sniper or Minigun (Randomizer perhaps?) and you scope/rev while disguised as the appropriate class you’ll do the right animation. It’s hilarious to do this in TF2C Randomizer ‘cause the moment I scope or rev they’re like “ah he’s real”

I love the Fact that "Steel Dragon" was Both the Pyro at 4:17 and 5:20 which leaves 2 possible options, either he was SO clueless that he didn't see you both times because he's still unaware of spies OR (The Better Option) he was so smart that he caught onto you the first time and was already 4 steps ahead of you and Knew to not react or chase you to avoid getting trick stabbed causing that Play of the game at the end there. Bravo my boy, you're on your way to being a True Pyro.

I actually knew about this and there is a way to use this while having auto reload. fire one shot, equip your knife before it auto reloads, disguise and the reload animation will play when you equip back to your revolver
i like how the pyro which octo tried to trick stab kept his cool and eventually had octo fall without using the flamethrower

I remember playing Spy on Dustbowl disguised as a Heavy. I was following behind a Demo going through the tunnel towards the stairs that lead up to that long hallway. He turned around and I used the voice command "move up!". He went "yes" and started going up the stairs at which point I backstabbed him. Got him so good he even typed out "I have been bamboozled" in chat.
Long story short use voice lines. Probably my favorite spy moment.
