If you plan on listening to the Devon Hendryx era tapes, I have a few pointers for you (because it can be confusing and I wanna help you avoid angry comments)! First of all, there's a couple Peggy albums that are exclusive to the his bandcamp, still under the JPEGMAFIA name. These include The 2nd Amendment and Communist Slow Jams. These definitely have more of his older style in them. There's also Darkskin Manson, a mixtape he's deleted from everywhere. It has mixed reviews. Now for the Devon Hendryx tapes, there's a lot of them. There are some that he's tried to delete from everywhere, similar to Darkskin Manson. These are Generation Y and Lisa. These are cool to see his first work, but they're really not that good. In terms of what people would want you to hear, it is an absolute MUST to listen to The Ghost Pop Tape, SPECIFICALLY the original version and NOT the remaster (they're packaged together on spotify and bandcamp). The OG version is generally considered much better and also has a few bonus tracks missing from the remaster. Following this, Dreamcast Summer Songs, Joechillworld, The Rockwood Escape Plan, and Heart Emoji (it's title IS the emoji) are all fantastic. His old music is very lofi, I don't know how much experience you have with that type of music, but it's when artist record on poor equipment (intentionally or because it's all they have) and it creates that muffled yet beautiful sound. It's a very stark contrast from what he makes now, but it's cool to see how his style has changed so drastically over time.

Fire reaction as always! It's sick to see how much you enjoyed this, I've been obsessed with this album so far. Also, I've been a day 1 Future fan so if u want I can send you a listen order when you check out his music next month. Highly highly recommend you at least start with Monster, it establishes the modern Future sound and defines the way Future wanted to present this new version himself after everything with Ciara. Shout out to the channel, you deserve all the love 🔥🔥
@@JaKarTV TL;DR: Monster -> DS2 -> Future/HNDRXX are the essential Future projects. Throw 56 Nights after Monster and Purple Reign / EVOL after DS2 if you're really feeling his music and want some more. I put a full list below tho MONSTER: This is the first mixtape after his fiancée Ciara left him, and saw Future change his sound from a trapper with a heart / auto-crooner to the Future we know today. He describes how he's turned into a monster, why he's like this, and what he's feeling. It's rough around the edges occasionally but it's also some of his absolute best work, featuring two of the most highly praised songs in his catalogue. The pain, irony, and self-destruction are straight up palpable. His first two albums Pluto and Honest are good, but he's very clearly a different artist - if you're getting into Future, absolutely start here. Beast Mode / 56 Nights: The two shorter mixtapes that helped solidify his sound that he established on Monster before DS2. Beast Mode is a collab with Zaytoven with some insane piano work. It's fire but not essential to him as an artist. 56 Nights emphasizes the darker sound, who Future was at the time, and what was going on in his life. His DJ and close friend got locked up for marijuana possession for 56 nights in Dubai. It had a huge impact on his career, and gets brought up in DS2. It also has another one of his most acclaimed songs on it. 56 Nights is absolutely worth a listen (it's the better of the two imo) and arguably is essential for his story, but there's a lot of Future music out there so you can come back to it. DS2: Legendary. It's the culmination of this era of Future, and what put him in the trap goat conversation. He continues his story from Monster by falling even deeper into the hole he's in. It's dark, bleak, self-loathing, and insanely hard. The album feels like being in a drugged-out nightmare, like having every hedonistic thing you could want while still knowing you don't have the one thing that actually fulfills you. People ran with this sound of being sad and insanely fucked up but still going hard so much (from Juice Wrld to Ken Carson) that the emotion in the album gets lost sometimes, but some of those lyrics and vocals will still make you feel some type of way What A Time To Be Alive: You probably know it already, it has some good songs but it feels like a watered down version of Future's sound to fit Drake's mood. I come back to it a lot and it helped push Future to megastardom, but the music itself isn't essential. Purple Reign: An amazing more experimental mixtape that pushes the DS2 sound to its limit. His vocals and beats are absolutely nuts on here, sounding like Young Thug at his most unhinged, and he's truly going through it on here. The Monster -> Purple Reign period was a run basically defined by the idea "I'm so fucking miserable but I'm gonna ball so hard". I highly recommend this one too, but it does feel like an epilogue to DS2. Evol: The next studio album after DS2. The songs here are all bangers. Nearly every song on here slaps, but it feels like his victory lap after all of the success he just earned off of DS2 / WATTBA. There's a lot less raw emotion in these songs, but it feels like he perfected the formula for his music on here and describes the world he's living in from a more stoic place. Perfect for the gym too. Not essential, but there's still incredible music on here. FUTURE/HNDRXX: Released a week apart, these two albums define Future's sound from 2017-now. He's partially moved away from some of the emotion in DS2 era, moving to solidfy the way he presents himself in the longer-term. FUTURE is all classic trap Future, with a lighter sound more reminiscent of his earlier work (he described it as taking it back to his roots and feeding the streets), while HNDRXX takes the auto-crooning he started with and turns it up to 11, experimenting and pushing his sound to crazy new heights no one knew he was capable of. These two albums (and their release schedule) solidified his legacy. HNDRXX might be my favorite album of his, I've never heard anything like it. Everything after this is a continuation of the sound on Evol and FUTURE/HNDRXX, and you see him start to coast a little imo. He's an incredibly consistent artist so none of the projects are bad, but it's not exciting in quite the same way. Out of everything released after FUTURE/HNDRXX, imo I'd check out The Wizrd if you're still looking for more of his music and probably skip High off Life and I Never Liked You, they have great individual songs but after all that music I expect they'll drag a bit. The Metro collab albums slap too, but also feel very disconnected from Future himself. Give Xanax Damage off of the Save Me EP a listen on your own time tho, the EP itself is a little weak but that song is wild. I glazed like crazy here but lowkey he earned it. Future's discog is remarkably consistent, and his music has way more nuance and emotional depth than he gets credit for. Tbh to me it feels like a lot of people took the lifestyle Future was portraying to show what he was going through, and were like "I want to be like that, but not self aware", which retroactively took some of the character out of his music. Looking forward to seeing what you think and what connects for you 🔥🔥

Yooo definitely drop that!!! Cuz I loveee future but I can definitely get all the insight I can cuz I wasn’t a day 1 fan! & I appreciate you fam

TL;DR: Monster -> DS2 -> Future/HNDRXX are the essential Future projects. Throw 56 Nights after Monster and Purple Reign / EVOL after DS2 if you're really feeling his music and want some more. I put a full list below tho
MONSTER: This is the first mixtape after his fiancée Ciara left him, and saw Future change his sound from a trapper with a heart / auto-crooner to the Future we know today.
People ran with this sound of being sad and insanely fucked up but still going hard so much (from Juice Wrld to Ken Carson) that the emotion in the album gets lost sometimes, but some of those lyrics and vocals will still make you feel some type of way
What A Time To Be Alive: You probably know it already, it has some good songs but it feels like a watered down version of Future's sound to fit Drake's mood.
Looking forward to seeing what you think and what connects for you 🔥🔥

been a long time fan of the channel, as well as a fan of peggy and i'm so glad that one of his albums finally fully clicked for you. it might be his most consistent for me, there isn't a single track on here that i find at all lacking, though i still think OFFLINE! and veteran are his best. youtube has unsubscribed me from this channel like four times already, so i missed this upload for a while but either way looking forward to the next ones!
TH-cam trippin wth !! Yea this def my favorite & most consistent for sure !! I appreciate you as always fam 💯🤞🏽

Mannn that means everything bro I appreciate you fr only the beginning 🔥💯
Its crazy to see how far you have come with JPEGMAFIA honestly its dope! Because at first for most people it can sound harsh or just weird but thats what makes him soooooo good. People appreciate his music because he's truly himself and creatively free. I know JPEGMAFIA'S music can be quite polarizing like Bladee and some people are just really turned off his stuff at first but then come around to liking his music
That’s love fam yea I’m really happy I gave him a chance because there’s a lot of duds & misses in his discography in my opinion! But this record made it allll worth it 🔥🔥💯💯
Instant fan of your channel bro
