yeah this is album of the year for me my favorite songs are Watching T.V. and Cry For Me, but every single one is a 9 or 10 out of 10 for me

I really love how much of a fan of The Strokes you have become, as the subbreddit would say "a true Stroker" 😂. One of the coolest things I noticed is that you really love the non-popular songs from them as well, as someone whos seen casual fans straight up only praise the pop songs from Is This It, Room on Fire, and The New Abnormal. Appreciate that you actually take the time to absorb each album! It allows you to grow and adapt to their sound more. Ive seen so many ppl try to get into a band by just listening to singles and they often dont stay. So keep doing what youre going! As a side note (if you havent heard the other albums, [DONT FORGET THE FUTURE PRESENT PAST EP!]) I suggest you also listen to Julian Casablancas solo album Phrazes for the Young, before Tyranny. Reason being that you'll see the notion of playing it KIND OF safe and NOT safe when it comes to The Voidz! But if i cant see it here i will definitely join patreon to see Angles and Comedown Machine reactions! Ive grown up with The Strokes since 2006 (pretty much since F.I.O.E. came out). I will stay subscribed because I dont think ive seen anyone react to music as open and as well as you do!

To be honest as a hardcore fan of The Strokes, just gonna say that every album chronologically allows you to see their evolution. I would say that Comedown Machine was one of their most creative and experimental albums that is very ethereal in its production. I look forward to hearing your thoughts when you get to that album.

These are the best two albums they've made the rest of the albums they're more like Chester Solar Albums they were good but had no rap mix whatsoever besides maybe one or two songs after these two albums Lincoln Park as we knew it was gone

the vision of division solo is played by Albert Hammond Jr. where as the fast pickings at the start are from Nick Valensi. Incredible performance from the entire band though

i got the same experience as you listening to grace for the first time, my favorite song being forget her at first and loving lilac wine as well, its funny!! right now dream brother its my favorite because i understood the story behind it and drums go crazy in that song, i just love it so much

Maybe check out the album Londinium by Archive - it may be more of what you were expecting/wanting out of this era and genre. The songs are shorter, they build in ways that I think might be more satisfying to you, plus there's actual rapping here and there. P.S. Mezzanine is still a perfect album to me 😉

Hey, man! Just found about him today and saw an interview with him where he mentions that he had the intention of conveying a liminal feeling to it, so maybe that's why if feels kinda dreamy and even fragmented. He also mentions that the album is about the second coming of a hero. Cool review, I enjoy your honesty. Cheers!

'I took you home, set you on the glass, pulled off your wings (unfolded the ticket) and i laughed' Passenger is about car s*x, they are literally singing about fabrics in the car loll. This is why I love Deftones. Chino can make any song horny af without you knowing 😂😂😂

meteora is my favorite LP album. it's just full of songs I like, none are "meh" tier for me compared to others album. I'm not saying some others are really close but only if I had to chose one it would be this one

$crim from the $uicideboy$ has 2 solo albums that i think you would enjoy. He kinda does his own thing on them, and they're pretty cool. The Lonely Boy (Deluxe) album is my personal favorite

there is no one that has ever done it like them, a lot of hip hip grown up guys like you just dont get it immediately, you're conditioned to constant filled up space

if you listen tot his album and are bored at even one point, you just have a lot more to go in your musical journey before you're ready to appreciate this is maybe the greatest album ever made

I have no idea how he feels about Echo lmao, definitely one of my favorites on the album, that drum hits every time. Its interesting how this album grows on you, every song, on the first listen, kinda sounds the same. But as you listen to it each song really mends into its own unique piece. Definitely my aoty for 2024. I couldn't pick a favorite if I tried.
