Loved the look of this the second I saw it a few weeks ago but was incredibly cautious about the sound of it. Glad it's just as clean and simple as the aesthetic. Definitely instantly snagging one!
This is so nice and fairly affordable. But they really missed the opportunity to use pogo pins for the pcb. Sound test timestamps: 7:12 - Initial test 8:07 - Near mounting points 9:20 - No deskmat 10:08 - Force break mod 10:33 - Force break mode + no deskmat 10:55 - Nixie spacebar
Be careful with the roller switches because the bearings actually do come out. I have a lot of them, three different colored sets, I've tried lubing a few and it doesn't make much of a difference if anything it kind of hurts it.
Thank you so much! Hmm, honestly I would check out some of the EU vendors, but I really not sure off the top of my head, I find shopping for ISO is sadly more expensive sometimes.
@@alexotos yea I have a wooting with gateron magnetic jade switches and a pc plate with lubed stabelizers and a tofu 60 redux I like it but the keycaps just get really oily
Not at all! Static is a non-issue. You could hypothetically bridge some contacts on the back if you firmly pressed the board on something conductive, but that wouldn't be easy to do accidentally
The layout is actually pretty universal and since the mounting system doesn't depend on any specific PCB features any wireless pcb with the same layout would work! You'd just have to sort out where the battery would go
@@alexotos I see! It's hard to tell on screen how accurate the color is. Would you say it's more yellow-orange gold in person? or close to like E-Yellow?
this is very cool (though not my preference for sound profile) but living in a house with two cats...the risk of getting cat hair caught around the PCB is too much of a deterrent. Probably would be fine! But preventative measures have to be taken haha
I was thinking this way too, but from the top its not much different to other Boards actually, and dust doesnt enter that much sideways. And its super easy to pop Out the pcb and clean it
Few routing points built into the inner of the top fold should do the trick when it comes to hiding the cable... Personally, I don't think it justifies the price since it's literally just a bent sheet of steel and some magnets attached to the plate but ok. It's an interesting concept and I'm sure it will inspire some people to make their own versions of it...
Hey there! This project is a small batch, so it took a lot of time and effort to get everything just right with a ton of prototyping rounds and with costs adding up along the way. You’ve got to consider the designer’s pay and the time they spent perfecting it, plus the vendors need to make their margin for helping out and fulfilling the project to customers. There’s also the work from content creators, all the labor when the parts come in, lifetime product support, and a lot more. I think saying it's just about bending steel oversimplifies all the work that goes on behind the scenes! We think $120 is fairly reasonable since it's a small batch and not something we get stellar pricing on - say if we were to make 10,000 units like some of the overseas vendors that are fortunate enough to pull those numbers off and command better pricing from their manufacturers.

This thing is ridiculously cool. I love stuff like this that is no more and no less than what you need.
Great job with this Alex, so glad that you enjoyed the build! Thank you for taking the time to check things out.
T3rminal Salvun Artisian ships when?
Watched this live and it’s still such a fun watch after. Cant wait to get my hands on this to play around!
Yeah it's fun! I don't think it's for everyone, but I think anyone who it is for, will really like it.
I think if the USB-C cable going to the PCB was braided in black that would be sick.
Would be easy to do it on your own but I agree. Some little magnet to secure it to the case would be cool too.
Such a unique concept, love the content brother. Never stop going 😄
i did not expect this design to sound so good
Lowkey like it, has an interesting design and colorways
Finally pulled the trigger on one of these in the burnished grey color. Going to pair with HMX Pebble and GMK 8008 Bloo. Can't wait.
Less is more... interesting design indeed. Glad we see something different for a long time. Minimal, foamless and... fun.
This would be a great candidate for those KBDFans tape mods with the designs
I like how the scene is getting more creative and innovative especially after the covid era.. and do not eat or drink near this board 😁
This is so nice and fairly affordable. But they really missed the opportunity to use pogo pins for the pcb.

Ouuuuu really good call there for pogo pins
Love the colour and look...
Why does this sound so much better than the cheap folded steel 40% board that's common to build on from AliExpress? They're the same thing.
Switches and Keycaps play a role for sure.
Be careful with the roller switches because the bearings actually do come out. I have a lot of them, three different colored sets, I've tried lubing a few and it doesn't make much of a difference if anything it kind of hurts it.
Honestly, I would love to see this with a PCB with RGB AND the underglow
RGB at 13:40 !
I@@spacecables i think he meant rgb per key
This is the first group buy I've really wanted to jump on board with....is it going to have an in stock option next year do you think?
I did it. Burnished Grey. Thanks for always helping me spend my money.
Anyone know if there’s any update on this keyboard? Looks like it is still up for preorder
He's back with another banger love your videos man i have a question do you know where to get affordable pbt iso french layout keycaps
Thank you so much! Hmm, honestly I would check out some of the EU vendors, but I really not sure off the top of my head, I find shopping for ISO is sadly more expensive sometimes.

Can i ask what is that touch pad that he used in replacement for his mouse?
Hey Alex did you use cherry clipin stabs or cherry screw in
Whats the front height on this? Not mentioned anywhere. Also is the PCB only VIA or also QMK compatible? Makes a bit of difference.
Via compatible! And i just measured for you, but its around 20mm with the feet
@@alexotos thanks, via is good but some features dont get implemented usually. So i prefer full QMK. But 20mm front height is nice!
I'm very late to this vid, anyone know if I can still get my hands on one now?
Hi, i hope you got to try akko mu01 i would love to follow what build would you go to that board. all build you do is so good. thanks
The spacebar sounds different without the desk pad
Do we need to worry about Electrical exposure that any statics could potentially short and fry the PCB?
Not at all! Static is a non-issue. You could hypothetically bridge some contacts on the back if you firmly pressed the board on something conductive, but that wouldn't be easy to do accidentally
without any form boards, how about feels?
What are the keycaps you used
What are the stabilizers
sweet looking build! does anyone know if there's a compatible wireless PCB for this plate?
The layout is actually pretty universal and since the mounting system doesn't depend on any specific PCB features any wireless pcb with the same layout would work! You'd just have to sort out where the battery would go
@@MPKVR hm... makes sense. the battery would be a problem, wouldn't it? I'll have to thing about it! :)
Genuinely, what makes a keyboard look industrial
industrial yellow color.
The material, the design
Design cues
Would be cool in a hhkb format.
if you were to get the textured Copper or this Caution Orange colorway, which one would you personally get?
Honestly, caution orange is too much fun. I would pick this, but for a safer pick, probably copper, it's easier to pair things with.
@@alexotos I see! It's hard to tell on screen how accurate the color is. Would you say it's more yellow-orange gold in person? or close to like E-Yellow?
I definitely love the idea and I would buy one if it was viable
great video
I love different designs than just rectangles boxes
Someone please tell me I don't need this
I think you need it
Can't wait
Welp so much for any of us getting this board. Rough stuff.
Lets 3D print this
This keyboard looks really cool. But it doesn't make me want to buy it. Instead, it makes me want to build my own DIY version of it.
I think that is equally as cool!
Gotta get it to go with my yellow Neo lol!

yeah, i might not want this keyboard. pair this with a dusty room, and you'll get a really dusty keyboard pcb
Looks beautiful though

back in my day we just call this a bent case
how is this 120??????????
less material, i'd guess!
