Here is my step-by-step video tutorial that everyone requested. I'm so excited to share this video, it may look daunting but believe me its not difficult to make your own pur.
Ingredients:
500g lamb / mutton mince
2 large onions finely chopped and water squeezed out
1 tablespoon red dry chillies crushed
1 small bunches dhanya cut finely
1 tsp salt
1 & 1/2 ginger and garlic
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
The above ingredients are to be used as a guideline, adjust according to your taste.

Wow...love this!!! I grew up in SA and now live in the US and have never forgotten the times after school, walking home and buying these and 500ml of milk and enjoying 3 of these lovely bites....finally getting ready to try to make, after 30 years
Oh, Larry, how did they turn out? I don't know how you did it 30 years is a long time to not have a single samoosa.
@@DamnDemi The flavor came out great but the shells not so much, lol.
please send names of spices you added to samosa mix - thank you!
I've added the spices
I tried this recipe today. And it came out nicely! Thank you 😍😍
Huu maar my rug! Next time Im buying the pur.

👀 this is dangerous. Now I'm gonna make my own🤣. My nickname is Moosa now bc I love it so much. Aunty Salwaa, this is TOO BENEFICIAL 😌 I'm gonna end up looking like a samoosa.
Good afternoon Salwa, I think I need your advice. Why is my dough tearing by separating? I made everything like you show on your fabulous video, but I just can’t get it right. Could it be that I use too much oil? I much appreciate your help thank you. I wish you a healthy and successful new year and greet you from Switzerland Heidi

Greetings from Canada 🙏🏽 As the Pur from my recipe book was a flop, I turned to you tube and found your tutorial. It’s very well presented. Thanks for sharing. I will give my pur making another go tomorrow!

Finally I found the recipe of the best samosas in the world. Just wondering.. don't one satay ( brown) the onions first? Thankyou ma...no oil in da mince mix ( stuffing). Perfectly and neatly done.. a masterpiece
No you don’t brown the onions. Goes in “raw”. It’ll cook when frying. And don’t add oil in the mince mixture. You don’t want an oily samosa 😊
You're the best, dankie hoor?
Thank you so much for this amazing video. I'm going to make them tomorrow.❤
Hope you tried my recipe already :)
@@capemalaycooking I did and I loved it, I'm a fan. I may not comment often but I tried almost all your recipes and they are great. Do you have a cook book?
Ameen
I'm hungry now
Salaam In the ingredients U mentioned ginger and garlic but I don't see U add it ☺️
Wasalaam. I must have cut that piece out 🙈
You Said u will add the spices u used in the description.... I don’t see anything .
Nice video but you don’t tell us the ingredients for the spices 😢
I've added the spices
@@capemalaycooking thank u
Thank you for the recipe, I always buy my pastry... now I can make truly homemade samosas
You are welcome.
Can I buy the pur from grocer and is it called fillo pastry
It's not the same as phyllo or fillo pastry. It has to be called samosa/samoosa pastry.
Hi Crystal. I've used Chinese spring roll pastry as it is basically the same and we can buy in any super-market in NZ.
Hi Salwaa, there is nothing that is such a taste festival as a "Bo Kaap" samosa. Just listening to you speak makes me so homesick for Cape Town again. Much love from NZ.
Thank you for this! I have been trying to find a good comprehensive samosa making video for a long time. All the best. X
Thank you.
I'm a samoosa connoisseur lmao I can eat them EVERY SINGLE DAY & not get tired of it. I once ate at least 1 for about 8 years in a row 🤣. That's a lot of samoosas
Slms. Can you pls give recipe for your mince filling?
I Just made mine!!!!!!!!! It came out perfect!!! Jazakallah so much
Thank you so much. Can we please have the measurements and spices.
Did the lady tell the ingredients?

Thanks from the UK ❤
You’re welcome. Btw I’m also in the UK 😊
@@capemalaycooking have you ever found any samosa leaves in the UK similar to the SA ones? I've not that's why I'm grateful for this video
No I haven’t, that’s why I started making my own leaves. I don’t like the leaves here at all 😊
We spoilt for choice in SA 🥰
