Oddly back in the day my uncle made a Tamiya mountaineer with rear steer and used a 8channel double stick remote that was for his rc planes and heli’s. It worked really well, how would that work in a comp setting?

Sticks wouldn't be my preference for a comp. Not the kind of fine control that I prefer.
