Young man, you are a true craftsman at your trade. It was so refreshing to watch you craft this fine piece of leather artistry. The world could use more people like you in it. Bravo!

Sure am happy to see a young man learning and working hard at such an important and fun craft. It will do you much more in the future than burying your face in your phone and treating your parents like s*** ;-) cheers to you

Nice work young man. Your stamped letters/numbers are perfect. You may want to try measuring the piece for you cartridge loops and marking your stitch lines before hand (groove/crease/scratch awl). It will make your edges cleaner if you want to burnish them before sewing. I prefer to cut slots instead of stitching the loops, but I pad my slings so the underside is covered. I also stitch the edges (entire length) to reinforce the leather. Your preferences are part of your personality, but just trying to offer things to consider. Nothing wrong with waxing edges, but if you or others want to dye/antique/finish the leather, the wax won’t allow the dye/antique/finish to absorb in the leather. If you use a finish like Resolene, you could wax the edges after the finish. An alternative to wax that works well for me is saddle soap. I wet a sponge, get saddle soap on the sponge & apply to the edges. It burnishes better than just water & won’t hinder dye/finish absorption. Keep up the great work. We all get better the more we do it. 👍👏
