    can i use bait on this jigging rod and reel set up ? like 400g sinker ? will these break the rod or line ? coz the rod saying about 100-200 g

    • @TackleWest
      @TackleWest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes you can use bait on there jigging rods but if the rod is rated 100-200g then 400g sinker will be too heavy for the rod.

    do you think a daiwa arid 4000 size is a good reel for jigging and using soft plackies

    • @TackleWest
      @TackleWest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The aird 4000 will be a little bit small for that

    Hi mate, would 7kg reel drag be enough to pull up big nannygai and red empror or should I go bigger with a 10kg drag? Cheers

      I would suggest looking at the Saltiga 15H SJ to mate to that rod.

    Do you tie direct to the solid ring when using a spin reel or do you use a swivel & attach to the split ring mate?

    • @TackleWest
      @TackleWest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can do either, the solid ring is the no fail option but if you start getting too much line twist then go to the swivel

    • @TackleWest

      Yeah it really depends on the jig. I normally do it to the solid ring and don’t have many problems

    • @TackleWest
      @TackleWest  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yoza xD Penn Slammers are not really ideal as they are too high speed in the smaller sizes. They are good reels though

      Great video Luke, I like the idea of instructional videos for different jig techniques and plastics. And for anyone who hasn’t visited Tackle West yet, great shop and staff, always got plenty off time to assist and give really good advise.
