Thank you! I see this video is 5 years old so am wondering if you still use these same methods for cutting chip board or have learned any new tips?
I've spent like 3 days researching paper cutters especially with chip board in mind (and at least small stacks of paper for planners/notebooks). What I basically keep seeing is these 4 methods you mentioned: 1. mat, ruler, exacto 2. mat, ruler, rotary 3. Slider type paper cutter 4. Guillotine type paper cutter
With slider type cutters replacing blades can be needed, and guillotine blades can dull too. Replacing blades is a cost I'd like to avoid, and some style don't have replacements available. So self-sharpening styles really stand out to me. High-end enough can include a clamp. Products tend to get mixed reviews. Cutting straight can be an issue. A tip I've been hearing is instead of one forceful cut which can strain a machine or person, a series of light cuts can be good - which your video also suggests! I wonder if scoring first is useful? Either way am thinking a mat, ruler, and rotary around seems wise if even as a back-up plan or for smaller cuts. I wonder if those single handheld rotaries need replaced often if using on chipboard a lot?
Another option I'm considering is glueing multiple thinner chipboard (or mat board? maybe that's the same thing?) together to maybe add up to a thicker one. So could cut and punch them separately before glueing. For more cutting and punching ease. Crop A Dile makes hearty hole or disc punchers too!!
(I'm getting all set up to launch a day planner shop.)

I have an ancient guillotine cutter that I got from my husband's office when they stopped using it. It's wonderful. I cut all of the invitations for my daughter's wedding in about 15 minutes. I can cut at least 3 pieces of chipboard at a time. It's very heavy with no wiggling at all. I love it.

I have a very old & well loved, Boston guillotine cutter, it works good but does not cut straight on the JoAnns black chipboard...I suspect that the blade is too dull & needs sharpening. I use my Fiskers ProCision Pro cutter...it does kinda drag, but works best if you push sheet up & push blade up threw, instead of trying to pull it down to cut. I bought it for chipboard & magnetic sheets...it always cuts straight !

Hello my girlfriend and I are going to make your box and put cards that can be used throughout the year in it to give as gifts. I wanted to let you know that you can get your magnets at Harbor Freight. It’s a shame that there is not a craft store you can walk into to get chipboard and magnets. But at least I don’t have to order magnets online, they also come in a nice storage container.

I have a Martha Stewart guillotine cutter and it does not work good to cut chipboard and actually I have not been able to get it to cut anything straight!! Truly I have not yet found a Cutter to cut straight.. It seem to always to be off a bit?? IDK if I'm going something wrong but if you put your paper on the (example) 3" and line it up all the way down, How dose it come out still off?? If anyone has a suggestion please let me know! I am so frustrated trying new Trimmers. I actually have 10 yes I have 10 CRAZY!!!!!!!!

Connie Chappell sounds like it moves slightly as it cuts. I have the same issue with the guillotine cutters

They have more expensive, industrial ones that have a clamp to hold things down. That could help. I've spent like 3 days trying to pick a cutter to hopefully only need to get one great one that lasts so feel your pain. Posh Pennies has a video showing chipboard templates that can be inserted to help the cutter cut straight.
