Bayonetta Speedrun Skips Tutorial & Explanation

- I’ve been asked a few times about how to do the skips in the speedrun while doing my runs, so I thought I would make a video about it!
I have been running Bayonetta for 2 months now since the start of February and have enjoyed it as a Speedgame immensely. I am however, not an expert, but I hope I can explain the things I have learnt to others. Feedback on how to make my explanations better is much appreciated! I’m not the greatest with video making but i’m going to try my best.
I’m hoping to create some resources new learners can use & hopefully explain how I do the run. Other runners might have slight differences in the way that they perform certain skips, but this video explains how I do them. When I was learning I found this run rather daunting and intimidating to learn so I’m hoping to provide some resources for newcomers and those interested in learning more about the run.
I plan on making a few more explanation videos on Speedrun tech for Bayonetta in the future.

I just got into speedrunning recently. Bayonetta is my first game that I ever speedran, and that was a couple of months ago. I really do appreciate you taking time out of your day to make a video explaining the skips and providing a controller guide too. Thanks a lot!

edit : this skip was known prior to this @22:00 to get on top of the plane. more than 1 way to do it, another way not shown in this video is to proxy off the chain by using testsuzanko (tested by myself to be the most reliable move for the proxy and it was pinned in the discord), also faster but unreliable, if u get it first try it shoots u up to the jeanne fight arena

Bayo is a nice speerdrun, I wish I could get into it but it is a little bit too long for me, but super nice and interesting video!
Wanted to start speedrunning Bayonetta as I bought it on the switch and I noticed alot of those skips arent doable, guess I'll Buy it on PC if I want to speedrun, Great video tho! Very informative thank you very much

24:25 Galasrinie explain that verse 5 kill cause I'm looking at where you were shooting and some targets wasn't in shooting range did defeating Verse 8 boss do that instant death?
Hi! How would you be able to do more than 2 afterburner kicks? I've been trying to do the Sea Of Stars skip, but I cannot seem to get it down. After two, it immediately stops. Thank you!

ah damn guess for the infiniit cliimax difficulty oyu cant skip jeanne :/ in broken sky - though i will tiry with the item. - the ledge grab really only works at exact that position - but if oyu have iti its easy to pull off nice
okay even though i mean sure it has already been done as a tutorial i would assume - the dodge explosion neckless works if you cant use witch time - the jeanne skip is worth gold \o/ nice tutorial thx xD

Now I can finally get the Bracelet of Time
Do I have to fully reset on a new file to speedrun for the bracelet of time? Beast within would b crazy helpful for early shortcuts
For the New Game run, you start from a fresh new file. New Game+ run you can have access to beast within/bracelet of time.
For the Jeanne fight skip, I tried to do it in Easy and Infinite Climax mode and I followed every step, get on top of the plane, activate the health bar, fall in the right spot, re appear on the ring, dodge the wicked weave and get Jeanne off the ring, I waited for the health bar to drop down to zero, and when it did I activated the cutscene and when I skipped it I had a glitch where the camera shows Bayo on top of the left wing looking at the sky without the GUI and without Jeanne but with Red&Black and the camera going up and down. I first tried it in Normal or Difficult mode and it worked, did the glitch happened because I wasn't in a certain difficulty?
That means when you are not entering the fight fast enough after the HP goes to 0. You need to book it straight away to hit the cutscene and not wait after the HP goes to 0. If you wait too long, you get that weird camera. I don't believe this skip is not tied to any certain difficulty. I've done it on infinite climax aswell.

Hey does the broken sky skip not work on switch?
I don't play on swicth, but what happened? Can't you get on the wing, or does the Jeanne skip get you softlocked? If it's the wing, you need to get a feel for the invisible walls, and gain enough height. If it's Jeanne, you have to be quick right after her HP drops to 0.
@@pedronied I can’t get onto the wing, I’ve gotten even higher than the video and still just ran into invisible walls
