As I've gotten older I've realized that I have an even shorter time on this planet then I have before. I right as well do what brings me joy. At the ripening age of 29, I still watch cartoons. Does it change the world that I do (no); does I feel like I'm bettering myself as a person because of I do (unlikely, at least not to a major degree); but I know that it brings me joy to do so. I've also enjoyed watching speedruns of games that I've played in the past. And because of it, I found your channel. Just know, watching your speedruns has brought me joy. If you feel like you haven't changed the world, that's fine. You've changed my day everyday I watched. While I don't know exactly know how you feel and because of that I cannot give any advice (not that you're asking for any to begin with), I do know that speedrunning has brought you some form of joy over the years. It's literally all I've seen you do for the most part. And that, of course, has brought me joy over the years. Whatever it is you set yourself to, your loyal peanut GALAry will be cheering you on. One frame at a time.

Hey Gala, Thank you for sharing this. I struggle with similar feelings with my own hobbies and competitive interests, so I can empathize with how you are feeling. Work, getting older, and medication have all contributed to it, as you talked about. I have been able to get to a better place as of late, I hope you can too. I think one thing that helped me was rememberikg to celebrate the small victories and moments in practice, which can help create a snownall effect to lead to some more joyful moments. But obviously, that is easier said then done when you are struggling things like depression and anxiety. I'm rooting you on in getting the things you want out of life.

I've been on some pretty heavy mood stabilizers for the past few years, and while it's reduced the chaos in my life significantly, I also haven't been as passionate about my hobbies or madly in love or hyped up about anything in that time, but every day I try to find a little moment of joy and that seems to help. Well... not *every* day, but you know...

not getting the goal and reseting runs is so frustrating ikr, we have to learn to deal with it! ❤im not a speedruner but since the first day i joined the hitless community ive been dealing with that kind of emotions, somedays you get good results but most of the time is painful and brings pessimism to my life, stay strong Gala!
