    Trump's proposed tariff plan has caused market volatility, leading to declines in tech and manufacturing stocks. He may get lot's of wins politically. What about the economy, can the wins be achieved without going into a trade war? Whatever it is, it better be good at the end of the tunnel, I'm almost sure it's gonna start very rough. With uncertainty ahead, I'm reallocating assets in my $400K portfolio, aiming to avoid losses while staying positioned for a potential market rebound.

      @JerryGarv 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Tariffs will increase costs of finished goods and components used throughout US manufacturing. This will be an immediate and huge hike in inflation. To fight inflation the Fed will have to hike interest rates which will be wonderful for the billionaires but possibly take away the middle class. Inflation is so high that consumers are literally taking debt for basic life necessities. Collapse has indeed begun..

      @@FloScidmore We don’t really have a slow economy. We are only slow in readjusting to the economic trends because in reality, we should be the ones who determine the trend. With Inflation, bank collapse, natural disasters and so on all coming together, it could lead to a bigger disaster sooner. With inflation currently soaring, your primary concerns should be how to maximize your savings/retirement funds. I have been able to do just that and I feel fulfilled. In summary, my once sitting 100k is now about 9% away from turning into a million.

      You need to be more specific about where 'rule of law' and democracy apply.
      It's perfectly possible for Trump to not observe international rule of law, and not kill of democracy in the US. As a past example, I can point to pre-WW2 France. A fully parliamentary democracy, yet imperialistic overseas according to the 'jungle law'. Or even pre-WW1 USA - a democratic republic, but taking territories from other empires.

      I am sure you are right for a part, but I am a Historian - not specifically a Historian of Modern times , but I think I understand the mindset of all real Historians ( as opposed to a Civil War Buff ) - I don't think we tend towards pessimism generally - we see how, in the very long run, we have come far - from rule of Kings to Laws. We see that this Progress has bumps, ebb and flows , but that long term we are getting better. I dislike trump a great deal - but I am not a Doomsayer , we will weather his storm - and like Bremmer says we'll get some good things ( not as many as bad ) from the storm ; maybe. At least , like a bender we'll know afterward that we shouldn't do that again.

    INCREDIBLE the gentleman who thinks the politically appointed judiciary in the US acts independently!!!
    The politically appointed Supreme Court ruled for Trump's immunity ( against the constitution) and just recently went against the first amendment tin the TikTok case - a ruling which will help Trump's billionaire buddies.
    Politically appointed Judge Cannon dismissed the Florida case against Trump
    Politically appointed Judge McAfee in Georgia destroyed AG Fani Willis in the Georgia RICO case
    Politically appointed Merchan delayed sentencing Trump until it was too late ( according to him) and betrayed the jury. He didn't even sentence for his own contempt of court rulings.
    None of the civil case fines or damages against Trump have been paid - simply appealed
    which means that the judiciary can help Trump by delay.

    • @fredchester921
      @fredchester921 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @daydays12
      Grow up. INCREDIBLE MIXING OF LIES in your laughable list. Let's review and follow the facts instead.
      The MAGA SCOTUS has been ruling pro-Trump on a lot of cases, that's true.
      Trump's decision to save TikTok was his, and that will be challenged in the courts, as the case was already ajudicated that it be sold.
      Trump's US District Court Judge Cannon delayed and then dismissed Smith's Classified Documents case claiming he was not properly chosen. Most judges disagree.
      Republican-appointed Superior Court Judge McAffee sidelined the Georgia Election Interference Case to go after DA Willis, that delayed the trials start, per Trump's MO.
      NY Supreme Court Justice Merchan was the ONLY CASE that got to trial. Trump was convicted of 34 felonies on the strength of documetary evidence with Trump's signature on the fraudulent bank loan documents, Trump's signature on the checks to Michael Cohen, Cohen's audio recordings of Trump in his own words talking about the crime he was committing to hide from the public (specificially, Trump's Evangelical base) that he was a serial adulterer who had cheated on Melania with two women for months while Melania was pregnant and even still at the hospital. Cohen got 3 years to serve in prison. Trump refused to testify in his own defense because the 34 felonies were indefensible. The sentencing was delayed per Justice Merchan, who later was forced to eliminate the sentence, due to Trump's election. But that sentencing decision CONFIRMS that Trump is a convicted felon, the only so disgraced President in United States history to have so disgraced the Office of the Presidency.
      Trump was found guilty twice of defamation and forced to pay $88,000,000 for s. assaulting Eugene Carroll by shoving his fingers up her repeatedly while she was in a women's dressing room of a department store. Trump later boasted of assaulting dozens of women in this way. There were over a dozen women who came forward who corroborated those assaults, and in addition to Trump cheating on all three of his foreigner wives, underscores Trump's complete sociopathic and immoral behavior with young girls and young women. Go figure.
      --- The DOJ and judiciary under Biden did act independently, in contrast. Biden acknowedged that he did NOT speak with the AG or any official at the DOJ regarding any ongoing criminal or other case, as has been the tradition before Trump. Trump broke that tradition (as also done under Nixon and GWBush). The four indictments (and 88 felony counts) against Trump came from 4 separate Grand Juries made up of ordinary American citizens. If they had voted NO... then there'd be no criminal indictments. Indeed, if Trump would NOT have committed the crimes, there'd be no evidence for a Grand Jury. The sad part is that the MAGA SCOTUS now gave Trump immunity to commit ANY CRIME HE WANTS as long as Trump claims, "it was during my official duties." That puts Trump above the law and above the Constitution. It is the antithesis of what America is and what the Founders wrote in the Constitution.

    • @alexphoenix9208
      @alexphoenix9208 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

But by filling the time on the post you have probably earned your appearance fee. Well done.

    • @richardbeare11

      I agree with this 100%. What you said seems much closer to the reality - a reality that people who've worked for and with Trump have already described.
      Trump himself desires absolute authority, and the court has even helped enable that for him. If that's not *at bare minimum* a backsliding democracy then I don't know what is, and 1+1 no longer equals 2.
      I don't know what's up with this Ian character but I wonder if he's living in fear, and reframing reality into more "sanewashed" terms in order to stay under the radar, or to keep one door open for business with the incoming administration.
      If there's anything I can say with certainty, it's that the new regime is creating a strange cocktail of confusion and fear. It can be felt - and it can be observed in the behaviours of others - in what is said, what is not said, and how it is said.

    "Russia's war in Ukraine." Most people know almost NOTHING about Russia's history with Ukraine and how they told the US and all others for YEARS that Nato in Ukraine was a "red line." But we did not take that seriously enough or ask WHY?

    The concept of a Russian world order and the implications of a BRICS currency on a global scale are complex and multifaceted topics. The BRICS nations, comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, have been seeking to establish a more multipolar world order, with a greater emphasis on cooperation and mutual benefit among emerging economies 1.
    One of the key objectives of the BRICS bloc is to reduce its reliance on the US dollar and promote the use of local currencies in international trade 2. This has led to discussions about the possibility of establishing a BRICS currency, which could potentially challenge the dominance of the US dollar in global trade 3.
    However, the creation of a BRICS currency would require significant political and economic compromises among the member states, including the establishment of a banking union, a fiscal union, and macroeconomic convergence 2. Despite these challenges, a united BRICS currency could boost trade and global influence among the member states, while also reducing their reliance on the US dollar 3.
    The BRICS economies already account for a significant share of global gross domestic product, with an estimated 37.3% based on purchasing power parity 4. China alone is a major driver of global economic growth, and its economic influence is likely to continue to grow in the coming years 4.
    A stronger BRICS+ could have a significant global impact in various areas, including energy, trade networks, infrastructure, monetary policy, and technology 5. The establishment of a BRICS currency could also contribute to a more diversified and stable global financial system, reducing the risks associated with a single dominant currency 6.
    However, the use of local currencies in international trade is still limited, and the US dollar remains the dominant currency in global commodity trade 8. To overcome this challenge, the BRICS nations would need to develop a more robust and integrated financial system, with a strong and stable currency that can compete with the US dollar 9.
    In the aftermath of the 2009 Yekaterinburg summit, the BRIC nations announced the need for a new global reserve currency, which would have to be "diverse, stable, and predictable" 10. While the idea of a BRICS currency is still in its infancy, it has the potential to contribute to a more multipolar world order, with a greater emphasis on cooperation and mutual benefit among emerging economies 1.
    Information is missing on the specific details of the proposed BRICS currency, including its design, implementation, and potential impact on global trade and finance. Further research and analysis are needed to fully understand the implications of a BRICS currency on a global scale.
    Since the 2nd world war comes to an end of capitalization perhaps books that explore the concept of a post-capitalist society. Here are a few notable ones:
    "Das Kapital" by Karl Marx: While not directly about the end of capitalization, this book is a foundational critique of capitalism and explores the idea of a socialist or communist alternative.
    "The End of History and the Last Man" by Francis Fukuyama: This book doesn't specifically argue for the end of capitalization but explores the idea that liberal democracy and free-market capitalism might be the final form of human government, marking the end of history as we know it.
    "PostCapitalism: A Guide to Our Future" by Paul Mason: Mason argues that the current form of capitalism is coming to an end due to technological advancements and offers a vision of a post-capitalist future.
    "The Zero Marginal Cost Society" by Jeremy Rifkin: Rifkin explores how the Internet of things and other technological changes could lead to a nearly free economy, potentially undermining traditional capitalist structures.
    "Utopia for Realists: And How We Can Get There" by Rutger Bregman: While not exclusively focused on the end of capitalization, Bregman discusses various utopian ideas, including a universal basic income, which could significantly alter how we think about work and wealth.
    "Doughnut Economics: Seven Ways to Think Like a 21st-Century Economist" by Kate Raworth: Raworth challenges traditional economic thinking, including aspects of capitalism, and proposes a new model that prioritizes human well-being and environmental sustainability.
    These books offer a range of perspectives on the future of capitalism and potential alternatives. They're a good starting point for anyone interested in exploring these ideas further.

    He's ranting nonsense about Ukraine being unable to continue fighting.
    How the heck can he be so out of touch with what's going on?
    Why are they wasting time asking him about it?
    There are many far better people to interview about the situation in Ukraine.
    It's disturbing that the mainstream media almost never interviews someone like that.
    Interview someone who can talk expertly about the immerse problems of the
    Russian military and the Russian economy and about the importance of providing
    Ukraine with enough military aid to enable it to equip more Ukrainian men and put them into the fight.

    Why do the "experts" never talk about the facts that America favors trade but we also favor isolationism. American citizens have routinely rejected a large involvement in foreign wars or massive international organizations. We do need a global presence but foreign countries have to pay an equal share to get an equal benefit (otherwise) we are getting overcharged as US Citizens. Thanks ❤🇺🇸💪😊
