So amazing how Bob talks to each and every one of us when he sings and we listen to his lyrics. “I used to care but things have changed”. Only Dylan people know this. Long live Bob.
For me it's "you can hurt someone and not even know it" Eddie Vedder's Just Breathe it's " There's so much in this world that makes me bleed." Songs can evoke feelings and open us. I feel music in the core of my soul.
Bob has modulated his voice over time, that everyone changes us, and as a poet as he is, he has done nothing wrong, his soul is still inside his songs.
This song makes me smile, Dylan with comedic sarcasm - love it - I think we can all identify - the lyrics are brilliant - people are crazy, times have changed - sure have !
My best friend passed away over a year ago. This was the first Bob Dylan song he ever showed me, and it's still my fav after all the other stuff I've discovered on my own. This kind of music has an incredible energy and whimsical sound to it, and it fills me with a similar vibe I had when we used to hang out. I'll miss you forever Jeff,; hope you're jamming up in Heaven.
"Hey,mr.Tambourine man, play a song for me! Is about where it started.Woodie Guthrie influence which he has acknowledged.Subterranean Homesick Blues.ha,ha,I mean just the titles of the songs!
Love Dylan in this! His straw boater hat and facial expressions are reminiscent of silent film star Harold Lloyd. Bob is a master of everything he does. 😀
No man on this planet can match the poetry of this genius.Scholar and an hero of the highest order. It is a privalage to live on the same planet as this man.
A very few people are born with the gift, but most of them never knew it. Bob Dylan is one of thoes rare exceptions. Where the inspiration originates from is a place you and I will never get to visit. So, we have Bob Dylan as proof that the secret birthplace of music and poetry is an objective reality.
@@kennyw871 Please don't forget graphic artists. We also find inspiration in our world and from within ourselves. I'm a lifelong Dylan fan and retired commercial artist. Happy New Year! 😊😎
Bob Dylan is a legend that will go down in musical history as the one that was way beyond his years with his music and the true lyrics which allow all of us to actually have some sort of personal identification to his songs!
I was Security @ Channel Nine studios Artarmon AUSTRALIA. where the live-crossover was filmed as he won the Oscar for this great song that day. My own little 'personal brag' about all this is : I was standing 20ft away as Mr Dylan & the band played this. & the footage here really does not capture the 'DAMN' he showed when he won, He really was stunned & was easy to see that i dont think he expected to win it. Wasn't hard to see his pride & surprise after the cameras stopped & all his people flooded him, hugging & backslapping him. Was pretty cool to watch as an outsider. Prior to it all he seemed so composed & in-control. Was a crazy day, The band/crew arrived early & were busy setting it all up in Studio 2. Very outta the ordinary 'Sunday' We'd been advised by my boss, THE legendary Mr John Bennett ( Y'all Nine Staffers will remember John & his equally awesome brother, Wayne- 'The Kray Bro's :D ), that we were not to engage the 'artist' in conversation nor request photographs or autographs. At some point before Dylan arrived we were outside having a ciggy when some of the crew walked up & said 'G'day', Top fellers, Charlie Sexton was amongst them & he was a great guy, I've said - ' Wow... Charlie Sexton, I bought your record' & the cheeky bastard FLOORED me when he grinned & said- "So.... You were the one" .... :D
More than any other, this video illustrates the timeless quality of Bob Dylan's contribution to music, society and culture in the 20th/21st century. Absolutely incomparable !!!
looks like your right. Both work well. we can all relate to unrequited love. and for me actually being in love with a women that doesnt appeal to me, i can see it happening and your comments are correct about this. that is i agree.
The first time i heard this song it was my new favorite.Still it is one of my number ones. Thank you Bob for being a Rock in a Sea of confusion. God Bless You
"I am trying to get away from myself as far as I can" beautifully said. Brilliant lyrics, so well executed and a great video. It's one of my favourite songs. Thank you, thank you. I absolutely love Dylan
OMG. Where does it all come from how is it possible that he has memorized all those words and that he alone posess those . Thank you for your words. They inspire life itself. I Love You, always, Thank you for making my life a soundtrack as it was written from me to you
True story: When I was 16, at school in 1970, and blown away by Bob's music and lyrics of the time, I told my stuffy old English teacher that I thought Bob Dylan was one of the greatest poets ever. He laughed and replied that when Bob Dylan had received a Nobel Prize for Literature he might consider him worthy of being called great. I wish I could find that teacher and stuff a Nobel Certificate up his arse!
Since 1966 - have been a fan - first time I saw a vid on his life growing up... realised he was a shy/quiet person - makes me like him more... love actors in this... great entertainment - tks Mr Zimmerman... love the Jewish nation - always top drawer no matter what...

@kevingill648
His facial expressions in the bar scene are just too good
Still makes sense in 2024
Der alte Jud hat einfach recht. Greetings from Germany.
It will always make sense because Dylan is ahead of his time.
A movie, the radio, a friend, it doesn't matter how you were introduced to this masterpiece by Mr. Dylan.
This is the definition of masterpiece!
Bob has modulated his voice over time, that everyone changes us, and as a poet as he is, he has done nothing wrong, his soul is still inside his songs.

Dylans best song on a lackluster movie.
Been walking forty miles of bad road, if the Bible is right the world will explode. Tremendous.
Dylan's facial reactions are highly entertaining, excellent acting, really.
Love Bob, since I was little girl! He is amazing!
