Generally speaking, I would have thought : flooring first, carpet lining second... Looks better with a horizontal flooring / carpet junction, easier and more forgiving to trim carpet against a hard floor than vice versa.... Plus any spray glue overspray is easy to remove from vinyl floor with solvent... What are the downsides?
@@tomtdubz I'm slowly coming round to the idea... I'm a joiner and in most circumstances, always flooring first with kitchen units / skirting boards / whatever.. after.... Practically and aesthetically better... Notwithstanding the faff and time of scribing a floor to that level of precision to something existing
@@tomtdubz Not to bad m8. The wee man's got a few hospital appointments this month. Will keep you posted how things go! Hope you and yours are all good. The van is starting to take shape looks great 👌
Yes, I've waited for this! I'm just in the process of doing this too. How thick was the insulation? Did u use the same type of wood as what was originally in the van? Did u screw directly into the metal work of the van or did u use glued wooden plates to screw in to? Sorry for all the questions 😅
Another great video Is there a reason why you did your flooring the same way as the factory one, with a join across and a join going front to back? I am thinking about 3 pieces but with both joins going across the van, splitting it in to thirds, and wondered if any reason not to??
You can put the joins where ever you want, having done it now I would recommend doing the split to the right so will be under the kitchen and then a patch at the rear rather than the front so that will be under the bed
Just wanted to say thank you for your videos, i really enjoy them, keep up the good work! Greetings from austria!

Carpet first the floor, much more seamless finish especially on areas that are visible 👌🏻
@@tomtdubz "... carpet first the floor"? ..
I assume you mean 'carpet first, then the floor'?
@@clungebucket23 lol yeah carpet first, then do the floor 😆👌🏻

The thermo liner is 6mm.. I used 12mm hardwood ply 👌🏻
@@tomtdubz cheers fella, and did u screw directly into the metal floor of the van?
@@motiv8154 I have but I’m gunna remove it and glue it down 👌🏻
@@tomtdubz I anticipate that video 🙌🏽

Hi Tom , Have you replaced the audio unit yet and if so what system did you fit ?
I've fitted an rcd360 from travelinlite. great bit of kit. i will be doing a vid on it at some stage once I've fitted the rest of the audio.
@@tomtdubz Thanks Tom .
Looked tight - do you think expansion will be an issue?
No issue with expansion, 👌🏻
What was the thickness of the board. ??.
Info in the description.. I did however forget to say in the vid🙈 12mm 👌🏻
