Noites Cariocas (O Clube de Choro do Rio Amstel)

Beside writing songs and composing chamber and orchestral music, as well as music for film, I recently got a craze for Brazilian Choro music. A very rich and colorful tradition that started in 19th century Brazil, just a couple of decades before American Stride and the first signs of Jazz music.
This one's a very famous standard tune.

O Choro Clube do Rio Amstel is a collective basted mainly in Amsterdam, devoted to promote Choro music in the Netherlands and in Europe.
Performed at Studio 150 (Bethlehemkerk) as part of the AmarteX project, Amsterdam. February 2024.
