Well, I'm pretty sure The Ultimate Showdown was one of Lemon Demon earliest work (not saying THE one cuz I'm not sure), and released on Newgrounds, so it does make sense that it's more on the parody-like side. Still so nostalgic for me though.
I know that isnt the earliest work he made because he did have another name in 2000 called "deportaz" or something like that and it was more instrumentals and after that when he started to go by lemon demon im pretty sure he had other albums like clown circus made before the ultimate showdown.
bill waterson, touch tone telephone, eighth wonder, aaron, amnesia was her name, cabinet man: all amazing songs from lemon demon, if you wanna do a part 2 i think any of these are great "serious" songs to listen to :D

most of neil’s songs don’t actually have deeper meanings!! in the spirit phone commentary he kinda said that he just writes songs as they are and is just like “hey maybe if people like this song they’ll come up with a deeper meaning”
Yeah like how me personally I make these songs out(in my weird mind) Cabinet man is the same as it actually is. A dead man's consciousness shoved into an arcade machine Now touch-tone telephone I see as a Love song about a dude heavily obsessed with a lady Eighth wonder I see as being about a person who everyone thinks is weird and strange Two trucks is just two trucks lmao

As a middle schooler, I watched "The Ultimate Showdown" so many god damn times when it first came out. It is a classic beginning of the internet Flash animation. I hardly new a person in my grade, from across the internet who hadn't seen it. The perfect middle school humor of "what if X and Y got in a fight, who would win?" I can see how as an adult watching this for the first time with none of the attached nostalgia how it could be just confusing and weird and kind of dumb.
OMG you HAVE to listen to "Ancient Aliens" if you want to hear that synth and vocal potential. It's my all time favorite and the harmonies are BEAUTIFUL!
Tally Hall! Personally some songs I'd recommend, as they're moreso classics, [though their whole discography bangs], are Ruler of Everything, Banana Man, Spring and a Storm, and lastly, Hidden in the Sand. They have a few other side projects that are just as amazing, if not better depending on who you ask, mainly being Miracle Musical which I HAVE to recommend if you haven't seen it already, seriously.

The ultimate showdown was HUGE back in the mid 2000s. Every kid on and off the internet knew about the song and often memorized the chuck norris part; a true platinum record of the golden age of the internet.
OH MY GOD IM LITERALLY PAUSING LEMON DEMON TO WATCH THIS IM SO EXCITED Recommended songs for you- No Eyed Girl, When He Died, Sweet Bod, Reaganomics, Sundial
Ultimate Showdown is a staple of my high school years. It's very classic "early TH-cam" stuff that's still talked about and remembered fondly. I've bonded with strangers at conventions before by singing this song with them. Glad you included it. If you're going to do a third one of these, I'd recommend the song Geeks in Love. The animated music video is ANCIENT but it got a nice 4k upgrade about 6 years ago.
Aimkid actually made some art for the View Monster Picture Disc LP that Needle Juice Records makes, the art is on side A and B. Also, View Monster is a awesome album by Lemon Demon, it's a total banger and i definitely recommend listening it.
the thing about lemon demon is that he's quite a internet person, he did early internet memes, early internet popular videos and its the type of guy to just find randomly like "Oh wait Neil did that?" (he nearly made atleast 3 gravity falls songs, none of which were used) so ofc being a internet person, and famous he has quite alot of memey stuff in his collection and most of his serious works are often based around some interesting stuff and events he randomly found on internet
u should listen to the annapatsu cover of prince ali (aladdin), she's not even a soprano but she hit a c6 at the end of the song! she's extremely impressive
I love lemon demon for his very specific lyrics, and yet they leave lots of room for imagination. The variation in the songs are delightful and depict mood really well. I have imagined a story to pretty much every one of his tracks I've listened to. (aimkid introduced me to the music, on top of this :)) (fun fact: the outro for LAA is the disclaimer to Micheal Jackson's Thriller, I believe)
Spring Heeled Jack, Amnesia, Touch-Tone-Telephone, Cabinet Man, Ben Bernanke, Sad and Ocean are all absolute bangers and are good recommendations if you want some good Lemon Demon. However I Desperately recommend the multiple 'Mouth' albums [Mouth Moods, Mouth Silence, Mouth Sounds and Mouth Dreams] they're extremely creative and are unlike Neils' normal albums since they're more on remixing popular songs into something completely different and its absolutely hilarious.
Yay another Lemon Demon upload! If you want to do more at some point, you should include something from his incredible "Mouth" mash-up albums. The segments he has on his TH-cam channel NeilCicieregaMusic should be on the safer side, copyright-wise.
As much as his newer stuff is great and more polished, I really wish people would find his really early stuff (at or before Ultimate Showdown) because even though he's still figuring out production and execution, the writing is still on point and it's the era I fell in love with his work.
That first one was the intro to the album. If you listen to the full album it feels like a story about the occult. I'm sure someone can break down the album better but I'm pretty sure Niel himself said there was no meaning LOL.
I clicked in this video so fast when i saw it. I was not expecting you to listen to modify for some reason but it was fun to see your reaction to the song because honestly that is one of my favorite lemon demon songs. ❤❤❤
I know I recommend this a lot, and you _might_ be sick of it by now, but I'd seriously recommend more of Jack Stauber. Specifically songs from his earlier days (2013-2015). Here's a few songs from then, and one later song: Windrag (Finite Form) The Diverge (Finite Form) Christ Potion (Viator) Leopard (HiLo) Hope you enjoy!
The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny was the only one of Lemon Demon's songs that I knew about before this. It is more of an unserious style, but I found a parody of it about r/place that I really love, and actually has a good message.
Ngl, lemon demon is one of my favorite musical artists ever and i'm so glad you were able to react to one of his songs, the vid was good and lots of songs in the video i haven't heard from him too it was pretty good. Though, a few songs i would recommend you hearing from lemon demon are "touch-tone telephone" and "amnesia was her name" they're both really good songs. The second song is a bit more serious btw, just to let u know but yea. The video was really good over all, i love your reactions to vids like these so much, hope u have a good day❤
I do want to mention that he both created a song for the intro of Gravity falls and a song for Bill cypher hiself. Sadly they never got used but they are honorable mentions.
Sort of tangential, but i'd LOVE to see you listen to some music from the Halo series! The main theme is obviously super iconic, but I feel like it's overshadowed all the other equally amazing tracks the franchise has, which covers a pretty wide range of styles and genres. 5 tracks i'd recommend would be a version of the main theme itself (Either "MJOLNIR Mix" or "One Final Effort") alongside "Deference for Darkness: Rain" (THE best track in the series IMO, and not what people think of as "Halo") "In Amber Clad", "Under Cover of Night" (CE version, but the "all versions" upload has the best audio quality, just listen to the first 3 1/2 mins), and then either "Heavy Price Paid" or "Reclaimer", depending on if you want a gorgeous somber piece or something to rock your socks off.
If you like this you should really give tally hall a listen as they have a similiar vibe to this. I reccomened songs like Good day, Ruler of Everything, Spring and a storm, Cannibal etc
I've wanted you to listen to Bears in Trees for so long now, and they've started being cryptic on their socials again which means they're likely to come out with even more new music soon!
some tips for each of the big four lemon demon albums/eps spirit phone: morbid, dark meanings behind the songs. some are more serious in the lyrics (lifetime achievement award, cabinet man, ancient aliens, etc) whereas some are more… playful? i’m not sure how to describe it, but it’d be songs like sweet bod and soft fuzzy man. then of course there’s the midway ones like touch-tone telephone and as your father i expressly forbid it nature tapes: BATSH!T CRAZY but in a good way. really enjoyable songs but they make you question life the first time you listen to them view monster: just vibes. some are really dark/serious (bill watterson, marketland, etc) but i think it’s overall more chill? definitely not as symbolic as spirit phone dinosaurchestra: the calm one. the good one. the ones you can be comforted by. also the ones you can probably show people without losing friends
If you want to listen to an artist that was a huge inspiration on Lemon Demon I'd recommend giving They Might Be Giants a listen. The songs I'd listen to are: 1. Ana Ng, 2. Birdhouse In Your Soul, 3. Don't Let's Start, 4. Istanbul (Not Constantinople), 5. Lady and the Tiger, 6. Boss of Me, 7. A Self Called Nowhere, 8. Withered Hope, but any song by them is a great listen.
I interpret Modify as more of a, If you want to look cool, It's ok to "modify" yourself such as adding piercings or generally just changing the way you look cuz you're free to do whatever you want to your body. While yeah, some of these changes you may regret but at the end of the day, your intent is just to look cool.
So from my knowledge, the ultimate showdown is kinda a refrence to Epic rap battles of history, and the reason Mr Rogers wins in the lemon demon song is because most of that fanbase unanimously agrees he would win on that note- Ancient Aliens from spirit phone is amazing and i reccomend a listen :)
Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny is so addictive. My friend introduced me to Neil and his music like 3 years ago almost with Lifetime Achievement Award (which, is honestly a rough place to start LMAO) but has since come to tell me that specifically Two Trucks and Ultimate Showdown remind him of me, which I still don't fully know how to take but I take it positively. Anyway, for the past like year I've been slowly learning all of the lyrics to Ultimate Showdown and I genuinely can't not sing it when I hear it.
I'm just discovering this now, and that's incredible! I really love your videos, they're interesting, and we can discover a lot of songs with you! And if you make another video about vocaloid songs, I really recommend you hitoshizuku x yama. Each of their songs are terrific, but I really like Vampire’s Pathos and Bad end Night. You should also listen to hachi (sand planet, donut hole...) and masa work design (the Fox's Wedding, ergonomic hero....). Both of them got a really specific style, and that's so cool.
Mask of my own face, Cabinet Man, Two Trucks, Touch Tone Telephone and When He Died are probably my favourites. Mask of my own face really comforts me ngl. But for the most part it's just weird funky spooky music that makes me wanna dance and I love that
This actually makes me so happy!! When you made part 1 of reacting to Leemon Demon’s songs, it was around the time I first discovered him too, and I had an absolute blast watching that video, especially because I hadn’t heard a lot of the songs too and was just as confused as you were. I find it a funny coincidence you post a part 2 of you listening to his other songs when I literally just started getting back into my nail chimichanga phase again. It’s been fun going on this.. strange journey with you. And trust me, some of his other songs are even more of a wild ride. I’m excited for a part 3 and 4 and 5 and 69sextillion if that ever happens. I will be permanently pronouncing it as “Leemon Demon” from now on. This is your fault.
It would be so cool if you listened to "You're At The Party", "This Hyper World", "Really Cool Wig" and "Fine" they're among my favorite Lemon Demon songs. "Angry People" is also a funny one that you should listen to as well. also "Ultimate Showdown" is by far the best Lemon Demon song. I have it memorized and can sing it almost perfectly. I love the tune of "Mask Of My Own Face" it's so :D
You should also listen to some of his old songs from his older albums. Ode to crayola, Fine, Lawnmower, New way out, Pumpkin pie, Your evil shadow has a cup of tea and ive got some falling to do are bangers
Modify is also a song about body modification, i think!! like tongue-splitting, piercings/gauges, plastic surgery, etc. at least, thats kinda how it reads to me on a surface level. just kinda "you do you my friend, whatever looks cool 😎👍" (especially in lines like "may nothing get rejected, may nothing get infected")
Yall, this dude should react to the music freaks by RozyClozy!! It is on YT! The music isnt from the series itself (althought there is an song). I think hell like it!!! :DD Also, HECK YES. Lemon Demon has some amazing songs! I cant wait to see your reaction!
Hey Mat, I would suggest a reaction to Tally Hall sometime, its a pretty cool band that disolved long ago, they got some recognition when one of their songs became a meme. So i hope you check them out!
the beginning of lifetime achievement award is like that because it's the first song in its album and that's how the last song ends, so that the entire album loops. love lemon demon he's so cool and i love his music
if you ever do a part 3, you should listen to some of his earlier work. songs like word disassociation, geeks in love, and i’ve got some falling to do are absolute gems while still being a bit unpolished. it really shows his growth in songwriting and music!
You should check out Will Wood, some songs I recommend are Hand me my shovel I'm going in, I/Me/Myself, Love me normally, your body my temple and 2econd 2ight 2eer
Well i mean, its the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny, theres good guys, bad guys, and explosions as far as the eye can see, only one will survive, it is the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny
Thank yo so much for this new video! If you were to do a part 3, I personally suggest both amnesia was here name and redesign your logo. As for new artists, I highly recommend Will Wood, as well as Tally Hall and/or Miracle Musical!
I think you should give Mitski another try! A few great songs are: - I want you - Francis Forever - Jobless Monday - Door - Brand New City - Real Men -Eric -Why Didn´t You Stop Me -My body's made of crushed little stars - Drunk Walk Home
I love Lifetime Achievement Award so much! I wouldn't categorize it as one of Neil's sillier songs, as it's pretty much all about how celebrities are treated XD The song itself is inspired by Michael Jackson, specifically the idea of reviving Michael Jackson. The ending speech is actually text that appears before the music video for Michael Jackson's Thriller
Just wondering, have you reacted to 21 pilots yet? Got a feeling you might have, but not sure, in any case, i recommend! Here's some songs from them: "Migraine" "HeavyDirtySoul" "Morph"/"Neon Gravestone" (neon gravestones has a very heavy theme) "Redecorate" Tried to pick one i liked from each of the most recent albums, from older to most recent :3
It’s pretty funny to me seeing The Ultimate Showdown being the last song that he reacts to, since that was my very first introduction to Lemon Demon lol
OH MY GOD. I WAS JUST HOPING FOR THIS LIKE YESTERDAY THIS IS GREAT YESYEYSEYEYESYYSEYSES edit: “this first one is lifetime achievement award” WHEN I TELL YOU I SCREAMED-
I'd love if you reacted to his older songs from albums not on Spotify like Damn Skippy, Hip to the Javabean, Live from the Haunted Candle Shop, and Clown Circus. Here are some of my favorites from them Ode to Crayola, Dead Sea Monkeys, I've Got Some Falling to do, Relativity, Dance Like an Idiot, Lemon Demon, and Hyakugojyuuichi 2003 ( that song is very different from his other work, it's a rap, but I really love it). Ode to Crayola and I've Got Some Falling to do are revamped on Spotify but I think the older Ode to Crayola is better.

Fun fact, Neil actually monetized this so it’s the official music video :]
if you ever decide to do another lemon demon reaction, please try One Weird Tip, it's so funky
The video was really good over all, i love your reactions to vids like these so much, hope u have a good day❤
Ooo do Will Wood next✨✨
The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny is one of the most iconic videos on the internet ever made.
I've wanted you to listen to Bears in Trees for so long now, and they've started being cryptic on their socials again which means they're likely to come out with even more new music soon!
some songs I like that aren't just sprit phone
-Fine
-I'v got some falling to do
-jaws
=-e fight
YESSSS
I love cabinet man, ultimate showdown, lifetime achievement, and tone-tone telephone…then practically hate everything else
I thought modify was more about " You do you. Your body you decide. " But I like your take! And its not one singular take that can be right.
some tips for each of the big four lemon demon albums/eps
spirit phone: morbid, dark meanings behind the songs. some are more serious in the lyrics (lifetime achievement award, cabinet man, ancient aliens, etc) whereas some are more… playful? i’m not sure how to describe it, but it’d be songs like sweet bod and soft fuzzy man. then of course there’s the midway ones like touch-tone telephone and as your father i expressly forbid it
nature tapes: BATSH!T CRAZY but in a good way. really enjoyable songs but they make you question life the first time you listen to them
view monster: just vibes. some are really dark/serious (bill watterson, marketland, etc) but i think it’s overall more chill? definitely not as symbolic as spirit phone
dinosaurchestra: the calm one. the good one. the ones you can be comforted by. also the ones you can probably show people without losing friends
If you want to listen to an artist that was a huge inspiration on Lemon Demon I'd recommend giving They Might Be Giants a listen. The songs I'd listen to are:
1. Ana Ng,
2. Birdhouse In Your Soul,
3. Don't Let's Start,
4. Istanbul (Not Constantinople),
5. Lady and the Tiger,
6. Boss of Me,
7. A Self Called Nowhere,
8. Withered Hope,
but any song by them is a great listen.
aim kid is what got me listening to lemon demon in the first place, nice to see em get some recongition
I have a friend at school who is obsessed about lemon demon and asks for 2 truck so be played in the classroom and everyone yells no to save our ears
I interpret Modify as more of a, If you want to look cool, It's ok to "modify" yourself such as adding piercings or generally just changing the way you look cuz you're free to do whatever you want to your body. While yeah, some of these changes you may regret but at the end of the day, your intent is just to look cool.
If you end up watching more Lemon Demon, I recommend “As your father I expressly forbid it”! It is one of my favorites (:
So from my knowledge, the ultimate showdown is kinda a refrence to Epic rap battles of history, and the reason Mr Rogers wins in the lemon demon song is because most of that fanbase unanimously agrees he would win
on that note- Ancient Aliens from spirit phone is amazing and i reccomend a listen :)
Fun fact the ending of lifetime achievement award is a reading of the opening of the thriller music video
Different albums have different feels because his style has changed a little over the years, but it's all amazing
I highly recommend "When He Died" from the Spirit Phone album. It's an underrated MASTERPIECE! ✨✨
When He Died is awesome and the transition from No Eyed Girl is god-tier
Modify is also a song about body modification, i think!! like tongue-splitting, piercings/gauges, plastic surgery, etc. at least, thats kinda how it reads to me on a surface level. just kinda "you do you my friend, whatever looks cool 😎👍"
(especially in lines like "may nothing get rejected, may nothing get infected")
the disclaimer at the end of lifetime achievement award is from Michael Jackson's thriller album lol
Yall, this dude should react to the music freaks by RozyClozy!! It is on YT! The music isnt from the series itself (althought there is an song). I think hell like it!!! :DD
Also, HECK YES. Lemon Demon has some amazing songs! I cant wait to see your reaction!
you have summoned the lemon demon cult. you have been warned
You had all the lemon demon fans dancing
Lifetime achievement award sent me to a different plane listening to it for the first time
Oh hey its me finishing a video I started 6 months ago
Hey Mat, I would suggest a reaction to Tally Hall sometime, its a pretty cool band that disolved long ago, they got some recognition when one of their songs became a meme. So i hope you check them out!
YES
i fully support this comment
please im so obsessed with tally hall
Do you want a banana?
@@JeppeBeier NO.
Okay, maybe just a nibble.
YEPS.
"Weird distorted trumpet?" I'm crying, I'm laughing, I'm shitting gidfjlskfodislk Mathew, please, it's a harmonica!! XD
the beginning of lifetime achievement award is like that because it's the first song in its album and that's how the last song ends, so that the entire album loops. love lemon demon he's so cool and i love his music
if you ever do a part 3, you should listen to some of his earlier work. songs like word disassociation, geeks in love, and i’ve got some falling to do are absolute gems while still being a bit unpolished. it really shows his growth in songwriting and music!
You should check out Will Wood, some songs I recommend are Hand me my shovel I'm going in, I/Me/Myself, Love me normally, your body my temple and 2econd 2ight 2eer
ABSOLUTELY. i’ve wanted him to react to will wood for a long time, i feel like he’d really like self-ish
I seriously need you to listen to Amnesia Was Her Name! I think you would enjoy it, as it is a very fun song.
Wait till he listens to Amnesia Was Her Name
I listen to spirit phone like once a week and i never stop finding new interesting details in the instrumentals or the backing vocals
I have been waiting for you to try lemon demon! FINALLY THE TIME HAS COME AND BOY WILL IT GET CRAZY
As your father I expressly forbid it is kinda underrated in my opinion 🏃🏾
I think you should give Mitski another try! A few great songs are:
- I want you
- Francis Forever
- Jobless Monday
- Door
- Brand New City
- Real Men
-Eric
-Why Didn´t You Stop Me
-My body's made of crushed little stars
- Drunk Walk Home
DRUNK WALK HOME YEs
I was going to reply to this to say drunk walk home but I already did jesus
I love Lifetime Achievement Award so much! I wouldn't categorize it as one of Neil's sillier songs, as it's pretty much all about how celebrities are treated XD The song itself is inspired by Michael Jackson, specifically the idea of reviving Michael Jackson. The ending speech is actually text that appears before the music video for Michael Jackson's Thriller
Tbh I always called it lemon demmon in my mind, now that I actually hear it said out loud I'm just realizing how it sounds. Huh
Matt: im listening lemon demon for the first time!
The vid in desc: here's me listening to lemon demon a year ago!
If you do another video on Lemon Demon, you should listen to The Machine, Jaws and Really Cool Wig
I wiSh I could remember what it looked like
If you like aimkids Modify, then I highly suggest you react to their Soft Fuzzy Man animation!
Just wondering, have you reacted to 21 pilots yet? Got a feeling you might have, but not sure, in any case, i recommend!
Here's some songs from them:
"Migraine"
"HeavyDirtySoul"
"Morph"/"Neon Gravestone" (neon gravestones has a very heavy theme)
"Redecorate"
Tried to pick one i liked from each of the most recent albums, from older to most recent :3
MY FAVOURITE TH-camR AND MY FAVOURITE BAND?! OMGFG I HAVE BEEN BLESSED
hes one of my fav bands
It’s pretty funny to me seeing The Ultimate Showdown being the last song that he reacts to, since that was my very first introduction to Lemon Demon lol
Not only are you listening to lemon demon, the fact that you're showing aim kid makes me so flipping happy
OH MY GOD.
I WAS JUST HOPING FOR THIS LIKE YESTERDAY THIS IS GREAT YESYEYSEYEYESYYSEYSES
edit: “this first one is lifetime achievement award” WHEN I TELL YOU I SCREAMED-
AJR and Lemon Demon need their own genres
