  • Time was flying in this first year of my small heli channel "RC Copter Love". Thank you for watching my videos and thank you to all subcribers and every single like and comment! My love for helis is continuing to grow day by day with every bit of more confidence and I believe it will be like this forever. Please feel free to write in the comments if you see some progress in my flying and how were your experiences during the last 12 months.

    Matthias, I came to a realization a few days ago after flying my heli in the front yard as usual. If someone is able to put a battery pack into a CP Heli, and fly it all the way through, with NO stabilization mode on doing turns, nose in and tail in hovers are stable, and land it, is a huge accomplishment. Sure, we want to progress and get better but just the fact of being able to fly it the way I just explained is something to be proud of. The flips, the loops, all the 3d tricks are cool. But, having that confident feeling when spooling up that there's a 85-95% chance of knowing that heli is going to land in one piece safely ready for it's next flight is REALLY something in and of itself. Think about how far you and I have both come. We've had are good days, and bad days in the field, but we've never given up. There are so many people who've tried to fly CP heli's and when it got to the hardest part, crashing a lot, repairing, and going back out to crash again and again, there's that point where people either say, "I'm done", or picking up the pieces and starting over again. I would really like to see the rate of how many people stuck with it, compared to the people who gave up and sold off the radio(s) and Heli(s).

      @AnythingEverythingRC This is really true! Staying with flying helis after crashes and frustration moments is an archievemnent. I have heard once on an airfild with many fixed wing pilots tha they have tried to fly helicoptrs and after too many crashes gave up! It's really sad that many piolots don't manage to overcome this frusttrting times almost every pilot has to experience. In my case the love for flying was stronger than any frustration. I absolutely agree with every word!! All the best and great progress!!

      @Rcheliguy Than you very much, buddy! It's so great that control comes almost 'automatically" as a side effect when you are flying a lot. For me these hours with my helis on the field are a kind of ritual which is giving me energy and positive vibes. 😀 I am so glad I discovered flying them!!

    I think you're doing great. I've watched a lot of your videos and I never think you're about to crash, which says a lot. You clearly understand how to fly with discipline and responsibility. That in itself is a skill not everyone is capable of

      @beasttehful Thank you very much! You are right, I am always trying to fly responsible and treat my helis a bit like fullsize helis. I am happy that I am not really interested in super low inverted flying and smash 3D. In my now almost 3,5 years of flying helis I was crashing 50 times. 35 of these crashes happened in the first 3 months and many of those 20 happened when I was flying in so called "safe" or "stability mode" for the two weeks and then never ever again (have a look at my self level video if you did not see it). Best greetimgs and happy flights!

      @Oregonremote Thank you!! You are absolutely right! My tail gain was some points too high and after reducing it my M4 Max flies perfectly no matter how strong and gusty the wind is (or how NOT smooth are mi stickinputs are). I hope as well one day will be something inbetween the M2 and the M4.

    Yes, there is definitely progress in your flying, it takes a little longer when you get older, and some people have a talent for flying, and watch out for the angry m2, they can bite hard, I noticed last week... Maybe a good idea also to make people aware of the dangers in a video 😅

    • @RCCopterLove
      @RCCopterLove  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @rudolphfranken1446 Thank you Ruud! Yes for sure it was not helpful that I was beginning so late, with 60 years, getting into the RC hobby and CP helis. But as you say, it just takes a bit longer. But with age I got more patient! Your idea regarding the awareness of the dangers of helis is great! Yes, they can bite. Even the M1. I hope Your M2 was not biting too bad!! All the best!!

  • @arturosierra413

    Of course there is progress in your flying ¡ Maybe you should try to use a little negative pitch as you go on top of the loop when your heli is upside down to smooth your loops

    • @RCCopterLove
      @RCCopterLove  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @arturosierra413 Thank you very much! I am trying this "playing" with adding negative pitch on the top of my loops and it really helps as you say! I just have to find the right timing and amount. Gusty winds like yesterday, when we recorded this video, does make it all more difficult. But it's so great that all this "trying' and so called "working" on my flying is sooo much fun and joy!! Best greetings!!

      @merlavery5057 I don't really know if I need such a huge helicopter... My field would be way to small and even my car would be too small. But: I remeber very well the time when I thought the M2 Evo was gig ebough. So I never say never!!

    extra 2 cents: to help put the helicopter on the place where you want some markers help. Flying fields use cones, but anything different from the environment will work. For example, a twig stuck into the ground :)
    second - please don't walk while the heli is airborne, it's way too dangerous, I don't want you to crash because of that 😀

    • @RCCopterLove
      @RCCopterLove  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @lev_on_heli Thank you very much for this tip! I am doing precision training with my M1 in my backyard: I am using small plastic cones on the grass and try to fly from one to another, between them, kind of slalom. I agreed with the owner of this field that I will only fly, not walk on it... so there I rather can't do this. But stil there are typical trees in the background as orientations.

    Your flying defenitly improved! With this wind the tail sounds a little over gained. I think if you would use a high headspeed 2800 for instance you will find that you'd have a bad tail wag. My m4 max is fully bult and almost setup, the wire management is done and last Tuesday I received the Nexus. A few things like curves and rates to setup and I'm ready for the maiden and final tuning of rotorflight.

      RubenRC94 Thank you Ruben!! I will give it a try with reducing the tail gain! I am happy that your M4 Max goes towards the finish line!! I cross my fingers and cant wait to see the maiden and hear how you like the M4 Max ant the Nexus with Rototflight! All the best!!

      The Nexus is all setup and I'm ready for the maiden. I found the setup remarkably easy, since I expected a lot worse. Hopefully in flight tuning will go just as well.

    Definitely see the improvement over the year. Are you flying your rolls / loops on idle up? You really need to so you can use negative pitch while inverted.
    Did you ever find the M1?

    • @RCCopterLove
      @RCCopterLove  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @user-fb5fr6l8m Thank you very much. I am only flying in idle modes since I changed from the RTF radio to my Radiomaster TX12 mkII. I find it so much better and I am using "normal mode" only during technical inspections on the ground. I have to work on timing and amount of neg pitch like in the loops! Unfortunately I never found my M1 EVO. It disappeared without a trace. I cannot really understand this, but had to accept it one day. It causes me only frustration to look further for it. But I have at least learned my lesson to never let a heli fly away frome me too far. Thanks for asking!!

      @jupi-aladin Thank you for your comparison of my flying with the M2! Yes, it feels like this for me and to feel a deep connection with your heli is the most beautiful feeling in the world! I had fear that these mobile and other antennas on this huge mast could cause problems. But so far my Radiomaster system works flawlessly and I hope it will be this way. I do not know if there is a 5G antenna. But since more than one month I never had a problem. I hope ith will stay this way!!

      Als ich den großen Sendemast gesehen habe, war das auch mein erster Gedanke ob es da wohl zu Störungen kommen kann.
      Aber ich glaube es ist die Frequenz, Sendeleistung und Ausrichtung der Antenne entscheidend.

    • @RCCopterLove
      @RCCopterLove  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@FPVJoschi Ja, vermutlich ist es auch entscheidend, wie oft dein Sender und Empfaenger System nach freien Frequenzen sucht un von einer zur anderen Freenz "springt" wie das SFHSS Systen. So hat es mir ein Freund erklaert. Ich hab leider keine Anung, wie das funktioniert, aber er hat mir erklaert, dass z.B. Spektrum weniger oft und langsamer Frequenzen auf eventuelle Stoerungen "untersucht" und daher stoerungsanfaelliger ist. Ich hoffe es bleibt dabei, dass ich ohne Probleme fliegen kann und ich wuensche dir, das du deine Probleme, die den M4 Max Absturz verursacht haben, loesen kannst!
