Hello Dave, thanks for the video! Do you know whether the Spanish Torrontes is the same grape as the Portuguese Tarrantez, which was historically used to make fortified Madeira wine? It sounds as if it might be, but I am not certain.
Hi Whisk-e-y: I believe that varietal is extinct on the island but some plantings exist around the Minho River where they call it Cascal. I don’t think they are related except for the similarity of the name. Cheers, Dave
