I LOVE your book videos so much. Read the Italo Calvino years ago and remember loving it. You've made me want to read Alice Munro. Generations of Winter sounds good... Tho I gave up on War and Peace earlier this year...the Golding sounds wild!

Loved your thoughts on Disgrace! I read it for a uni class called "awkward books" and I think it was towards the end of the course so I was very over reading about horrible males by the time I got to it lmao but it is a really interesting book in terms of moral grey areas, though very upsetting too.

Omg!!! You should read more books from other Indian authors if you can like Jhumpa Lahiri, Ruskin Bond, Amitava Ghosh and for colonialism read Shashi Tharoor. His books are really good! Love your work Jess. Specially your book videos ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️
So I’m South African and Coetzee is really renowned here.... BUT I really don’t know if I can get on with his writing... I did Disgrace in school and I’ve recently read Youth but I just don’t like his characters at all. They’re all quite unlikable characters and the stories jar quite a lot and don’t really flow. I do think that he tackles our history quite well though.
