      @@blackbriarwolf5766not exactly something you have control of as a child getting literally raped. It is not until you hit your teens to late teens that you can consciously start choosing which way you want your brain to grow.
      When you are 25, your frontal lobe is done. Your neurons solidify. And it is extremely hard to change your brain patterns after that. You can no longer want to be super man one day and the NBA star the next.
      So saying it’s not hard is condescending af and quite literally lacks empathy in your sentence Lmfao which is ironic. Someone with real genuine empathy would understand “it’s not hard” is a garbage explanation.

    This is why CONSENT and child abuse education in school is vital. These predators feed off shame. The irony that they feel no shame about the evil they commit, yet their innocent victims feel nothing but guilt, pain, shame. That mother has no excuse. None. This beautiful woman has been abused and never wants another soul to suffer a tenth of what she went through.

      @debaterofeverythingpresent2775 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I don't like the label "vital in school", making it sound like highschools need a 5 year course on consent and abuse. It can be easily covered in a single sex Ed class.

    • @TheJadeFox
      @TheJadeFox 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +43

      @@debaterofeverythingpresent2775 there is a need to be teaching kids things about consent and their bodies at every age - for example research has shown that teaching young children the medical/formal terms for different private parts reduces the risk that they will be preyed upon because they don't have any issues reporting troubling behavior from adults in their lives. Then for those in middle school, obviously it's not appropriate to give a full sex education course but they should be introduced to important ideas about bodily autonomy, people needing consent to touch them, etc. unfortunately any age and any situation (even a doctor or teacher) might be the moment a child needs some skills to understand how to respond to abuse. I think this is more of what the original comment meant

      It’s sadly common for pillars in communities to take advantage of their status & charisma/persuasiveness in order to do insidious things. More examples: School coaches, Boy Scout leaders, etc. A lot of daycares also have abuse unfortunately, you’d think having one means they love children but no. A lot of people (not saying you) think sex trafficking minors is some stranger that snatches a kid up, and while that can happen, the vast majority is the child’s own family and community. 😖

      @@NorthernGreenEyes Often, trauma survivors do react to kindness they feel they do not deserve with disdain. It is the first challenge to believing that they are unworthy. And it's a knee-jerk reaction to shoot that down. I think that most survivors, once they get to a place of safety where they are safe to feel their true feelings and leave behind some of the coping mechanisms that kept them alive, develop great empathy and understanding for others as, hopefully, they do for themselves. It's easier to be kind to others. Not as easy to forgive ourselves for the past where we "did what we had to do" to survive and realize that behavior or coping does not define who we are in our souls.

      @@NorthernGreenEyesEverybody processes trauma differently. It's clear that her high school boyfriend's kindness and love was such a foreign concept to her that she didn't know and was not equipped to process it.
      The people who gave her birth were both terrible to her. All she knew at the point was pain and abuse so love, patience and kindness must have felt so strange she couldn't process or handle it. It actually makes perfect sense. Plus she's been manipulated and trained to survive at such a young age that trusting someone nice when all she knew were horrible adults must have made her feel uncomfortable like she was in a foreign territory she didn't know how to navigate. She was more comfortable with what she knew that's why being with someone older and perverted at the age of 16 felt like safety.

    As a father of 3 girls this breaks my heart. Protecting them emotionally and physically is my reason for existence. I would not hesitate to end someone if they tried even a fraction of what she's endured. How sad, I wish I could give her a big hug, tell her it's alright and take back what has been done. Unfortunately, life doesn't work that way and actions have lasting consequences.

    I feel a real love for this young woman. I was only meant to watch something for 10 minutes to fall asleep to, but couldn't stop this video. I wish there could one day a year called "child sex abuse victims" day. In it, victims could meet and perhaps tell their story, and the public could be there and to hug the person, or reassure them of their sanity and bravery. I just wish there was a day where the world could say to victims "Hey, there's no shame in being a victim! This day is for you, all of who you are, and your undeserved assaults!" I want to see a world where child sex abuse victims are made to feel free to give their story, like Victoria, and a government that makes special concessions for their pathway through life. Victims should be made to not feel shame, but to feel the force of empathy from the public on their behalf. Victims need a way of knowing that we all have their back. Thanks so much for sharing your story Victoria. I was riveted and felt so proud of you, just as if you were my own daughter.

She is putting what is best for her son before any needs or desires she might have personally. She is also taking his stage of development and how he would be able to interpret things into account.

    She is truly a beautiful soul. Hearing her speak about any topic is just so amazing, I can tell that her heart is so pure. regardless of anything she’s been through, her eyes are so so kind. when she speaks about her first son i can’t help but have this overwhelming feeling of respect for this woman.

    She's incredible. The fact that she left the military - the first place that elevated her self worth and was clearly good for her, because something she saw there no longer aligned with her principles is commendable. She's so articulate and such a brilliant story teller. But what comes across most of all is her humanity. She's the sort of person that restores your faith in our kind. Someone who's seen the entire spectrum of humanity, the bad end more than the good, and yet she chooses to keep moving forward. To stay hopeful, and open, and kind.
    I'm a British African woman from Kent and I would like to say this on behalf of all humany:
    Thank you Victoria. You are loved. Every version of you matters, and is worthy. I'm sorry you were let down by so many people, but the way you dug yourself up from the shit over and over again, and continue to do, is the most heroic thing ever. I'm so incredibly proud of you. I'm glad you took a chance on your current boyfriend. I hope you find peace, comfort and long lasting love together. Thank you for sharing your story. Thank you for fighting for yourself and inspiring us all to do the same. Keep moving forward. All the best xx

      Thank God for the DayLight5 post. Well said. Numbing to hear how kids are being treated by faith based parents and "role models."
      Her smile will light up a room when she feels capable to let it all out. I hope and pray for this new relationship in Virginia. She will be in my prayers more often than she'll ever know. Please God be a blessing to this young lady in and through her everyday walk.

      @@Emily-vw9ccI don't agree completely with the assessment of "none of your business," because I think if she quit prostituting herself on camera , she is still a good role model. I don't have the hour to watch to make sure his assessment is correct, that she thought nothing of it - it broke my heart in the 7th minute to hear that she had been locked in a box for extended periods, I just can't...- so here is my Criterion. If she would do it again she's not a good role model, if she wouldn't she is. But his is not a hate comment.

      What kind of therapy is going to "fix" anyone who is emotionally capable of sex trafficking their own child. They are a lost cause at that point. Totally unfit for society, and should be disposed of immediately.
