Watch me take a dull, muddy vocal recording and turn it into a radio-ready pop-rock vocal sound that's polished and sits properly in the mix.
My fav vocal plugins (used in this video):
    Waves CLA76 - waves.alzt.net/0va0P
    Waves SSL Channel - waves.alzt.net/dMd4q
    R-DeEsser - waves.alzt.net/R7AnX
    L1 Limiter - waves.alzt.net/vJ7VA

For anyone asking, the song is called Failsafes by Play Oliver

That SSL E-channel and CLA-76. Just magic.

My MIxes started getting so much better after I stopped watching Graphs and started using my EARs - started back in the day when all there was, was a board and speakers then went in the box and lost the magic - spent years fing with plugins and technology trying to find what I thought was that lost analogue sound - then HRC set me straight - that one lesson was worth the price of admission IMHO. EARS first!

Great video as usual. I would love to see more videos geared toward pop-rock/pop punk. I'm about halfway through the The Full Stack Producer course and it's translating very well into those genres for me.

It's great how you're not afraid to use a ton of compression and still sound better.

It's quite interesting that I learnt to mix my vocals on my own a few months ago (I'm really confident with them now to be honest). Now, I've watched this JV video to check if there was something I could improve and I see that me and Jordan are doing pretty much the same! Nice video anyway, Jordan! ;)
