  • This week Moshe and Natasha are joined by Gil Ozeri! They discuss Halloween, how to talk to kids about spirits/witches/superstition/magic and Gil almost completely not believing in ghosts. They give advice to one caller heading into the holidays with an anti-vax parent and another who has had enough of her friend’s toxic relationship.

I was in the last situation with my best friend: The man she was dating would do something shitty, she would lean on me for support to the point where she felt better (although I would feel terrible), and then the cycle would continue. My allowing her to repeatedly dump everything that she was feeling on me amounted to enabling that bad relationship to continue. I finally got to the point where I said that I understood that it was her right as an adult to continue the relationship, but I also had the right to say that I no longer wanted to be part of it and no longer wanted to hear anything about it because it was affecting me negatively. I said it firmly but with love. I understood that there was a risk that our friendship would end, but I was at the breaking point and was willing to take that chance. Within a few weeks, my friend broke up with the man, and we remained best friends. I would have been OK if it had taken a different route as well (e.g., she continued to date him, our friendship ended, etc.), although I'm glad that it didn't. Nobody should have to feel like a doormat.

It was people saying that paedos love wearing the masks because their identities would be hidden. I remember a clip of an old lady specifically saying that that sticks in my mind. Lol

The first caller may want to consider giving his mom an ultimatum. My aunt told my Trump supporting grandmother (her mom) that she couldn’t come and see her grandson in person unless she got the vaccine and low and behold, it worked and my grandmother is now (however begrudgingly) fully vaxxed because she didn’t want to miss out on those relationships

I agree with Moshe, it's super lonely not having shared tribal hatreds and irrational beliefs.

Anti-vaxx parents aren't fun. I think the real decision comes down to having a parent in your life when they can't make decisions that keep you and your family safe. It kind of sets a tone on their parenting in general.

That young healthy vaxxed dude is not at risk, his unvaxxed family are. Let them be.
