I hope to God he has some genuine people looking out for him. He needs to be extremely careful who he associates with because there are people who will target him for manipulation and abuse because of his age. I hope he stays away from drugs and gets somewhere safe soon.

*Dear God, this life can be beautiful, but it can also be so cruel & cold. So many of these stories begin with "my parents were addicts" and those kids raerly flourish & the vicious cycle of victimizing continues. I pray someone helps this CHILD. Shows him LOVE & a better way of living*
Science is the only hope for addiction. Or all of the millions of prayers already begged and wept to “gad “ would have been answered. Once we figure out the gene or brain malfunction. Addiction may be eliminated. In the meantime, again, along with all your prayers. And thoughts. Letting the government know that we’d rather them focus on a real war. The on drugs against the cartels and the manufacturers of rogue chemicals that create these drugs coming from China. Would probably be a lot more effective for societal change.and helping people.
He’s a good kid. He’s got a lot of potential. I hope he gets on the right track and gets a golden opportunity to find true success and happiness in his adult life. Good luck kid, you can do this for real! I promise you you can do it!
*I watch so many of these videos, but this kid is different from all the others. He reminds me a lot of myself at 14. I wish I could go back and be just like this kid. I would make a beautiful life for myself. This kid is just so sharp for 14. I hope he understands the power that he holds.

Hes not learning a dam thing . His hate for his mother might be justified, but he's not taking responsibility either. The only thing he should be focused on is school and if that means the group home then suck it up for a few more years. Never mind this emancipation BS that won't matter in 3 yrs anyway. Hes stuck on victim mode already. Get off that box and create a plan with a counselor at the home while its available as a minor. Use the services to your advantage, then talk to a recruiter about a career.

He is definitely not capable yet of taking responsibility.
A lot of adults struggle with it their whole lifetime too, how are you expecting someone this young taking responsibility when he is surrounded by a lot of chaos.
He should of course learn and try the best to take responsibility but it’s not as easy as it may be for you.
He’s trying to heal through separation. Sometimes you have to acknowledge your hurt, seperate from those that hurt you, heal and THEN be able to do all of the things you said to do.
I went through the same thing at his age. As long as he doesn't do drugs he will make it. When he comes of age the military will change his life. Keep moving and stay strong big dog!

This made me think of the 1984 documentary Streetwise which follows runaway street kids in Seattle. Saw it 20 odd years ago. I'll have to track it down.

Everytime Mark interviews a child I just want to jump through the screen and give these babies a hug & keep them safe.
My sons are 24, 22, 20, and 17. Never did they talk like that at 14 yrs old. Or now for that matter. He's just a baby!!! These idiots need to stop having kids they don't wanna raise!! This world has been headed for trouble for so many years now. So heart breaking to watch a kid talk about things that shouldn't even be a part of his life. He should be in school, playing sports, or studying, and getting ready for college. So sad and frustrating.
This kid is very intelligent and wise beyond his age in certain ways. His potential is off the charts I pray he gets the help he needs!

Huh. So Daisy came THRU, since I just watched this kid get arrested on Venice beach via the Santa Monica Close-up channel. Granted, Billy still needs to stay away from all of these "Thirsty" women (his words) & Daisy's unstable arse for that matter too!! Run!!!!!!! Bruh. Please. Get your education & join the military (ie. active duty) which you can do at 17 years old w/parental consent or 18 yro withOUT it ..... 100%!!!!

Mark has to learn to do his due diligence. Daisy had the kid sleeping outside with some random dudes that she says are her friends in an alley while she was sleeping inside. She said she was watching out for him to the best of her ability. She also had conversations about orgies and other inappropriate topics in front of him. Daisy encouraged him to lie about his age to authorities and when outreach workers and social workers attempted to engage him, she would encourage him to not go back. Daisy has lost custody of all of her children and she sold him so many lies. This kid needs help to deal with his antisocial behaviors and to get some structure. He also needs to understand that the military no longer accepts people without a high school degree and they do require you to be able to follow rules. Watching things go down with this kid live, including his detainment that really could have been handled better, was surreal to watch. Daisy and the rest he named are not good people and are not his best bet. People who use drugs with you as a kid are not safe people. Mark should be ashamed for pushing the narrative that Daisy is his best bet. The creepy bonding she did with him screamed grooming and that’s not okay.
He has so much potential, time is also on his side biologically.

I always say I wish I had the means to help kids like him. Not rich, just what we need to survive and live normally to help with education and life skills. I have tons of love and compassion to give I just don't have the space or means.

As I'm watching this with my heart hurting, a dog food ad comes on for people who think and care more about their dog than this tired, broken young man. People walk by him in disgust and judgmental yet do nothing to change the very broken, very evil, very crooked system. At 14, this child has learned to never have hope. If that doesn't cause you to lose sleep, then you are broken! I HOPE he sees how intelligent and creative he is, and he has an amazing future if he sets his mind to it. A child that survives on the streets can do and be anything he wants. If he reads this, You are awesome, no shame in anything you have done to get to this moment , keep your head up, stay true to your heart , guard your heart but take chances on letting people help you. If your gut tells you they have bad intentions, then run to the next person you feel in your soul you can trust. God is with you even though He probably seems so far away.

I almost got hit by a car last weekend there was a turn only lane and as I crossed the street a huge suv came speeding around the turn lane at like 65 in a 25 I’m so lucky I’m sure I wouldn’t be here if that suv hit me, that shook me up. I have a little ptsd to be honest.

This poor baby - he's utterly lost and has been from the start. He needs safe adults; mentors and love. He has no compass or foundation - I hope someone close to him sorts themselves out enough so they can be there for him at least enough to help him get a foundation. This feels like the a story of a very short life.

It is apparent that Billy is intelligent and highly articulate. Hopefully, he'll find support and mentorship so that he can finish high school, and consider college. He has so much potential and just needs some proper anchoring and direction. If he can make this shift soon, by the time he is 18 he'll be able to navigate his life in constructive ways, fulfill his potential, and live a happy and productive life. I believe he can do it!
