    • @rudolfdirks9253
      @rudolfdirks9253 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If you imagine boxing through someone it helps with the correct technique. Usually when you hit the sack or your opponent (except when you're a pro in a competition) your punches land ON the surface. That not very effective as it'll only hurt the skin. If you want your punches to have an effect on something, the image of punching through is exactly what you want. That way when a hit lands it doesn't stop at the skin but also goes through to the organs. But be careful to punch, not to push.

    Hello. Thank you for the great tips. I watched the other video on the cross punch and then came to this one. Mike, thanks for the clear instructions and demonstrations. I'm a 50 yr old female that did kickboxing about 25 yrs ago and haven't done that since. Only got to yellow belt in my club and sparred once. Funny, I didn't like fighting another club member, even for practice. I stopped working out now for 5 yrs. Since working from home due to COVID-19, I have been skipping and started shadow boxing. Wasn't sure if I remembered the techniques properly and so came to the Tube and found you. Glad I did. Keep the video's coming on a weekly basis. I hope to keep up the exercise on a daily basis. When I return to work back in the office, I might be able to do a few days a week. So, now it's more of a commitment thing and your videos might inspire me. Great job and keep it up.

    One thing I noticed when you were holding the punch out...you arm was over extended. This is very bad. If you punch when putting a good amount of force in it, or if you hit the target with the arm extended like that you can seriously injure your elbow. So always have a slight bend in your arm when extended so you don’t injure yourself...I learnt this the hard way.

    Simple principle: Don't just "Throw," or, Thrust your arm at your
    opponent----Shoot your arm out like a bullet from a rifle, but use
    your hips as a 'door hinge.' The anatomical advantage of punch-
    ing in this way is, it generates not only more Speed, but more
    Power, as well. Do Not use the elbow as your 'Power point.'
    It is something that takes much practice to master.

      Yes but replace shoulders with hips and vice versa. You start the kick from your shoulders and gain a lot of power twisting your hips correctly.

    I remember one time I was so motivated into punching harder
    and I felt a huge wave of adrenaline rush and did not waste a drop of it right in the middle of my bedroom I went full-on All Might Detroit Smash into mid-air
    stretched every muscle in my arm I felt like plastic man except that I was not.
    I had to rest in bed for the rest of the week....
