This really was a fantastic movie! Anne Rice’s writing style is superlative. I had the honor of a reply from Ms. Rice not once but twice on Facebook of all places. I think I had a kind of crush on her for a bit. When she died it was so sad knowing that there will never be another book from her.
Listen to the words and how good the writing not only for the books, but in the movie (unlike what became of Queen of the Damned) as well. Tom Cruise, despite objections from Anne Rice originally, did a great job as Lestat but all the cast did a great job with the writing that was given their characters.
Disagree. Tom Cruise might be very fun to watch in isolated TH-cam clips, but he's a manically selfish actor who sucks all of the oxygen out of every film he's in. He has no generosity for anybody in a scene with him, and it's ultimately grating to watch more than 10-20 minutes of the Tom Cruise Show. The books were built on a wide cast of interesting characters, but this film was compromised enormously to sate Cruise's ego. It would have probably been better without him, even if a worse actor had shared the screen better.
I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise, bu t Pitt is the most over rated actor in the history of cinema! Interview, Achilles, Legend of the Fall, seven ! This guy has made some really bad performances! 😅😅😅😅 Not saying he hasn't had has good movies ..
Sadly she didn't care for queen of the damned (which I didn't either but aaliyah that played akasha did a wonderful job. Also not a fan of the TV series either
I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise, particularly not the action movies he stars in. But he gave it his all in this role, and it is one of two starring roles that I actually enjoy of his.
Impressive content, ClipZone: Horrorscapes. Looking forward to your next upload. I hit the thumbs up icon on your video. Keep up the fantastic work! The exploration of myths surrounding the undead is fascinating; how do you think these legends influence modern interpretations of vampire lore in literature and film?
Pretty sure Lestat jumped into the water close by but it took well over 100 years to heal mentally and physically. Lestat was much more powerful than other vampires his age due to the way that his maker stole vampirism from a captured vampire, and Lestat was his only offspring after 300 years. Claudia was killed by European vampires when it was learned she killed her maker (so they thought), which was a capitol crime she knew nothing about.
The destruction of a vampyre is not to be undertaken lightly for bringing about the death of a creature already dead is something we humans - nay, likely not even God - could have contemplated in the history of the Earth. Hell rises by this act. Be sure it doesn't rise so high in oneself as to burn everything to ash.
Please let's help Alan to get back on track and let me and my wife know if you have any questions or concerns or if there to take care to help out in this situation and I will not have a great day and my Birthday was 5.30am and I
@Loj0468 Indeed but not as much. I feel like as with most woke garbage out there the very fact was used as an excuse for overusing it not to mention the fact they made Louis black. Thank you I will stick with toned down version.

What movies with men wearing lip gloss? No im sure we got those😂
This movie was one of my first exposures to Tom Cruise. I never saw him as an action star. He did a fantastic job.
That shot of Lestat burning while running along the ceiling is so creepy and awesome and unsettling.
Anne Rice was against Tom as Lestat but said after seeing the movie thought he did a fine job
Sadly she didn't care for queen of the damned (which I didn't either but aaliyah that played akasha did a wonderful job. Also not a fan of the TV series either
I remember her being very angry and vocally against it until she saw his performance. Then she took out a whole page, newspaper, ad and apologize.
@@fuzzywuzzy1355 yup, I really got into reading alot of her novels growing up
It’s a shame she never got to see Sam Reid’s masterful turn as Lestat. 🔥
Maybe she got paid by Warner to praise Tom Cruise
The scene where his wifes statue watches him die was awesome. Early on in the movie
Probably still my favorite vampire movie. Got to see it in the theater when it came out! Just a great fuilm.
Bro vampire so hard even vampires are spooked.
How Tom Cruise never won an Oscar or golden globe for best supporting actor I’ll never understand 🤔🤔🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
5:23 I wish they would have included the scene from the book where they encountered the mindless Nosferatu type vampire and killed it.
Such a great film.
Great adaptation
somehow, lestat returned
Lestat returns
Just as well Lestat attacked them and their house burned down or they would have definitely missed the ship they had waited for weeks to catch!
He did deserve his revenge 😊
Way better than the recent remake…the new one sucks😂
Not exactly one of my favorites in his filmography but I do have to give hats off to Cruise. He played the hell outta this role

Edge of Tomorrow might change your opinion. It’s remarkably good
@ecbrown6151 Seen it and I did enjoy it. I specifically enjoyed watching the aliens take him out repeatedly.
@ haha yes, it’s honestly a great character arc. His best movie of the last few decades.
Vanilla Sky being the other my guess?
@editnosmirc4489 Nope.
I’d be ok with more adaptations of Rice’s books.
Oof, not so much. This film ventures heavily from the book and they only get crazier from here.
@@mtgamateurnight sort of had to. Cant get good 5 year olds to play homicidal murdering monsters.
I really wish Tom would have come back and played him in the sequel
there is a sequel?
@@hazardeur Queen of the Damned is the sequel, if you're following the story of Lestat the vampire.
They could have solved this with a nice dinner of stakes and garlic bread
The movie was 1,000 times better than the TV series, if only they could have kept this formula & level of acting the TV series would have been decent.
They were waiting for the ship to arrive… but it’s now leaving without them? Ummmm…
Show me the whole movie
Tubi
If I can remember, Lestat was way more of a pos in the book.
Great film though. Tom Cruise should play more villains.
