I was baptized into Holy Orthodoxy as an infant. Years later down the road of life I fell into Pentecostalism and was a licensed minister. It took me a few years and almost going to the reformed camp but thank GOD I was brought back home and now my wife and kids are part of the One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church, the Orthodox Church!

I grew up a UPC Pentecostal which are anti-trinitarians. By God's grace, I was baptized Orthodox last pascha and have no regrets. It's been life changing.

I'm 65, and late in life walked away from evangelical Protestantism, and was received into the Orthodox Church ☦️
I'm in a small Antiochian parish now.

@JacquelineRPrice I don't think you'll get an answer. The Orthodox don't like to explain anything.

I was an undergraduate theology student at Oral Roberts University in the early 90's when me and a friend discovered Orthodoxy after a brief search for the historic Church. Seeing the theological instability and excesses of the charismatic movement, and exposure to the early church by a professor at ORU, Dr. Shelton, we visited a few Roman Catholic masses and episcopal churches, before hearing about an introduction to the Orthodox Church event at Saint Antony in Tulsa. After that one class led by Fr. George Eber, I turned to my friend and said, "We found it." The history, unchanged theology, and hierarchical structure all matched everything I had learned about the early Church. My friend was received into the Church around '93 and I followed on Holy Saturday of 1995.

We came in on the same day! And I was received by a graduate of ORU who discovered Orthodoxy while a student there(!) Thanks for sharing your story!

There have been a few small waves of converts from ORU, before and after my time there. Thanks be to God.

I agree with his observation re: the Western church that you see and feel a different spirit creeping into the Western church, too. That's why I haven't considered Roman Catholicism either because of the rise of the papacy that violates the conciliarity of the church. I share many of his views on that.

Google Church history: its Jesus>apostoles>disciples>Church.then romans chatolics split in 1054, latter anglicans protestants etc.
Return to orthodox Church founded by Jesus and apostoles. Others are founded by man in there fashion and likes.
Are we folowing The Word of God and teachings of Jesus or God folows our fashion and likes?

You cannot be baptised in the Ruach Ha Kodesh and return to Orthodoxe Church. This is not the Spirit but human endeavour. Not impressed by this testimonial. Read Frank Bartleman Azusa Street and pray to God to forgive you for this error false witness.
