Why do we use English in every field of India? *(Why do we need English)*
      1) India is a *"multilingual"* country & we have a different language family's *(Indo-european, Dravidian, indo-iranian sino-tibetan, Tibeto-burman, Semitic, astro-asiatic Etc..)* & India has no _-national language-_ or any _-monolingual policy-_ the country of India is a *"union system'* and "all languages are respected equally"
      2) Only English is recognized and used as the *"2nd administrative language"* in all states of India. (After their state's official language)
      3) English is the only language used in all fields of India *(science, technology, research, education, medical, business, job field, information, space field, Navy, etc..)*
      4) India is mostly dependent on *"foreign income"* & So we need English in the field of 'business' and 'workplace'
      5) English is emerging as the future *"lingua franca"* of India and the World
      6) English is *"indispensable"* today and giving more value to "English" after our "State language" is also good for our financial empowerment.
      7) Yes there is a language problem in India! So English has grown and is growing as a language to solve that problem, This is the reality! It is better to accept reality. And at the same time all the languages of India should be respected equally

The first converts were Brahmins who mixed with Syrian migrants around 100-300 AD. After that many Christians from Arabian peninsula migrated and settled in kerala before the begining of Islam. All these Christians consider them different from the Christians who converted during colonial period. The muslims of kerala are Arab traders who mixed with local population (Aryans and Dravidian) and settled in kerala. So they also have a different identity. Among the hindu population 30 percentage are Nairs. They are Aryans and they consider sanskrit and Malayalam as their language. In Bangla language, most of the time people pronounce ‘O’ in ‘A’ so, so it's really hard to pronounce Hindi-Urdu and Sanskrit. It will be a funny accent.
And besides, the issue is with the language scripts, not the spoken language itself.
Hindi-Urdu has been pushed in every non-Hindi-Urdu speaking regions through Bollywood and TV.
And not every human being is capable of learning multiple languages, and by force it creates an identity crisis and situations like Dyslexia.

Many my friends from North India who are working in Bengaluru tried learning kannada and gave up.
Even for us learning hindi is extremely difficult even though we had one subject in school it is extremely difficult for us too.
Everyone must learn English even though it's hard because there is no hindi used in Engineering, medicine or any research paper, coding etc.
Even hindi people can't survive in India in any good profession without knowing English.
Many people associating hindi with patriotism. Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam,Telugu,Tulu,Marathi,Gujarathi people are as patriotic as hindi people . Hindi people are more in population doesn't make them more patriotic. Punishing south Indian because they consciously controlled population. Is it right thing.
Why can't we communicate with the language we use for job and education purpose.
Most of us use English to comment in TH-cam or anywhere in social media.
Why sould then the south Indian people should learn hindi and not English which can give them much better opportunity not only in India, but

Every government is mandated to make Hindi as national language. Even if a PM from south is elected as in case of Devegowda or Narsimha Rao or anyone in future, he will promote Hindi. It has nothing to do with BJP, RSS.
A central government will need a medium to connect to all as it can't publish every notification in 1600+ language. Even if anti-hindi DMK occupies center it will start promoting Hindi as it will need to communicate with northern/NE/Bengali/Gujarati people. Even they will have to bring a common language. You can't end the concept of link language.
I do understood mother tounge is important and it's duty of its native speakers to protect it and pass on to next generation. But when you are living in a such a big country a link language will be needed. It might be anyone English, Hindi or anyone else.
BTW, those chauvinist who thinks that only Hindi will destroy their mother tounge and not English should learn about English History and how many languages it has killed to become so big.
The rise and fall of language is a natural phenomenon. It is bound to happen and nothing can stop it.
We can only pass our mother tounge to next generation and hope that it goes on till it becomes more popular. No need to hate other languages.
PS : I am not a native Hindi /English speaker but could connect to you all only because we all were watching a Hindi language video and commenting in English language while our mother tounge is different.

@@ChandanMishra-ql1bi There is no national language in the Republic of India. However, article 343(1) of the Indian constitution specifically mentions that "The official language of the Union shall be Hindi in Devanagari script, which is the main reason why India will never be completely united. Pakistan tried to impose Urdu but it backfired. India is better because of English luckily. All the states of India need to get more power, nuclear arms and become countries. Instead of having UP, Bihar, MP as states, if they are operated as countries, than they will prosper faster. Good example is Europe. Norway, Sweden, Denmark, similar people, lot of similarities, but different countries, not same country.

The reason many people in the south are ready to accept English as the bridge language when compared to Hindi are 2 reasons
    1. It connects not only India but also the whole world and you increase your employability greatly.
    2. It is not a native language of any major Indian communities, Maybe for some anglo indians it's their mother tounge, but it's not major, so all language speakers in India would need to learn a new language and native one won't have a default advantage when it comes to things like entrance exams.
I don't mind if Hindi is used as a bridge language, but I feel the govt should always promote local languages.

There is only one common language for communication. Because most of the Indians know Hindi. Hindi is taught in the schools of all the states. Because it is popular in India.
Hindi more than 75% and regional 5 to 10% people know, no one can say that Hindi is not important in India

Languages are an integral part of any culture. I hope all Indian cultures preserve their native language and do not blindly adopt Hindi or English. All the various languages are jewels of India's crown and should be preserved at any cost.

I am from Dharwad, Karnataka and can speak 3 languages Kannada Hindi and English and can understand 6 languages, kannada hindi and english (completely) and Marathi, Telugu and German( partially) And here in our school hindi is complousary as 3rd language Until 8th standard and then there is a choice between kannada and hindi...
Here we almost watch hindi content in youtube along with other languages but the reason of protests against it that the fear of loosing our regional languages, jobs , and status... So we are protecting our languages which is right but we don't hate hindi until someone insults or disrespects our languages, in my opinion there should be no national language and if the govt. Want to promote hindi they must ensure not to harm, disrespect the regional languages and promote them as well, We must protect and continue the diversity of languages as other countries like Switzerland does.... The conclusion is that we personally love hindi and north India💙 but want to protect and conserve our native languages which absolutely correct....

I am a Kannadiga and I would suggest that let local language be mandatory in each state. And let another local languages in minority be 2 nd languages in the region thats spoken.
For example In karnataka kannada is spoken more. But there are other local languages of Karunadu like
Tulu spoken in Mangalooru, Kasaragodu region.
    Kodava spoken in Kodagu region.
Like i say just everyone (including outsiders ) should mandatorily speak kannada as 1 st language and as linguiafranca.
At Mangalooru Kasaragodu districts Tulu should be thought as 2nd language instead of Hind or English and kannada as first mandatory language.
In kodagu district kodava should be 2 nd language with Kannada as 1 st language.

And at the same time all the languages of India should be respected equally.

If we make Tamil as common then other language people will ask to make their language as a common language, but Hindi is something they cooked for communication during independence movement period so i personally feel they should make Hindi more Indian by adding vocabs from Dravidian languages and other groups so every one will feel Hindi is common and union shld also ensure to protect regional languages....This my personal opinion from TN..

But the opposite of these languages is its strength , they are roots of Hindi and Hindi is cutting its roots on its own . Sanskrit should be promoted more. South Indian protected their language for so many years.
    Kudos to them.
Edit: People who are replying how north kings protected south and south remained untouched by islamic invaders, should go read proper history.
Khilji did invaded south long before mughals. He took kohinoor after invasion in south.
After khilji tughlaq had control of south but later vijaynagara empire was formed, which gave resistance to northern muslim empire for next 100 years.
It was during that time sanskrit, kannada, telugu, tamil flourished. Kumar vyasa translated maharabharat to kannada during this time.
So stop saying south never had to fight against islamic invaders. First go read proper history.
In fact until formation of Maratha empire. Many maratha and rajputs worked for mughals and adil shah.
Maharana pratap fought against Man singh who fought for mughals.
Chhatrapati shivaji maharaj's father and half brother venkoji worked under adil shah. They defeated nayak of south.
Thankfully Venkoji promoted sanskrit and south languages while ruling thanjavur.

South Indians feel extremely proud about their native language which are much older than Hindi and any attempt to force Hindi to become the dominant language will lead to another partition. @@theFastestSloth_001 no I didn’t. I said all Indians who don’t know Tamil will do well learning Tamil and understanding the Tamil way of life. It is a classical language and anyone who doesn’t know it and wants to impose their language on Tamiians can take the lead and learn a non-Hindi language and appreciate it. I want the Indian government to allocate resources to propagate Tamil to non-Tamil speaking people and support it.
