I was a graphic designer for 25 years, and at one point in my career, I worked for a small mom-and-pop shop in WV. Their letterpress operator was retiring, and none of our offset guys had any interest in learning letterpress, but I JUMPED at the opportunity. After about 6 months of "apprenticeship", the letterpress guy (who had over 30 years experience) said I Was ready to do things on my own, and let me run the press. So 3-4 days of the week, I sat at a Macintosh doing design, but 2 days a week I ran an old Heidelberg Windmill like this one. I'm now on a totally different career path (semi-retired), but I love my memories as a Letterpress pressman, typesetter, and designer. I used to own a 1921 C&P 10x15 platen press, and a Kelly B cylinder press--both of which I fully restored. I've unfortunately sold those presses off but still have most of my type (that I occasionally use on a fun little Kelsey), but I miss the whir and hiss of that old Windmill. I'd LOVE to win one of these beautifully-crafted cards, because it reminds me of some of the fun projects I did as a letterpress operator, 20 years ago...
This is such a good idea! As an amateur doing letterpress, I always feel limited by the time I can commit to multi-colour designs but having someone else create offset printed cards that I can then augment on my Heidelberg is such an inspiring idea! I'd love to see one in real life.
I would love to have one of these cards, I'm just mesmerized watching the process of making these cards. The mixing of colours and embossing is so cool.
I would adore one of these prints. There is something about the depth of the artistry and feel of a card like this that is so warming in todays disconnected and cold world. Prints like this have an air of nostalgia to them that I just love so much

I would be so happy to receive one of these prints. Since boyhood (in the 1950s!) I have been fascinated by the printing process (our grandfather's small Adana press was handed down to my brother and me), and I took up a career in scientific publishing in large part because of this. So it's been a treat to watch your videos and relive my memories of visits to the printers!
I love Christmas and the delightful designs it inspires. This card is especially beautiful with its simple nostalgic them of wholesome winter fun, matched with letterpress tactility. I’d cherish one of these cards. I would love to display it in a shadowbox frame, and enjoy it all year round.
Oh boy! I'd love a card just as a conversation piece. It's something i would put on the mantle every year for Christmas. I may put a QR code underneath it to send people to the video when they ask about it 😊
This is really, really beautiful. We're only printing digitally at our printshop - I'd love to offer letterpress printing for years but it's almost impossible to find people with the right expertise. Keep up the great work!
How do you remove the excess ink from the presses after you finish a run? I know a little ink goes a long way, but it also doesn't take much to make a huge mess. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year 🎉
