Wow!!! This was so helpful and informative! I remember a year a go, I would watch your other video about how to tell if a guppy is about to give birth and watched it over and over at least ten times to see if I was doing it right!😂 Now I have five guppy fry that are now developing colours on their finnage, thanks to you! Cool video! You had some great information there! I really enjoyed it! Keep up the amazing work!!!👍
My daughter just spotted little baby guppies in our tank this morning! These videos were so helpful in trying to figure out the best way to care for them and how to look for this in the future. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't ashamed that I hadn't prepared for this better. We're committed to being fry ninjas now. Your explanations were so helpful ❤
My guppy gave birth yesterday at 7am and 15fry. And another guppy giving birth, the first fry is born. I’m so happy that I manage catch all these moment and saving the fry’s. Now I’m trying my very best to raise them :)
Thanks so much for this! I have 3 pregnant females. One is yellow with orange fins. That fish’s gravid spot isn’t dark and more a translucent amber color.
Big box belly (like a square with rounded edges) Large, dark gravid spot Rapid breathing Hiding/ nesting/ isolating Every 25-35 days Those are some extra tips
I had my pregnant guppy in a different tank so that she could give birth then 3 days later she wasn’t giving birth so I was moving her back and when she was acclimating in the main guppy tank she gave birth 😂😂
My guppy is pregnant for sure, but I’m not sure about the square stomach thing. I’ve had her in the mesh breeder because I don’t want the babies to die. Will she really be stressed if I leave her in there for too long, because this is stressing me out too. Lol (It’s only been 2 days and I think she will give birth really soon. She looks BIG)
Trinifish Hobbyist TV I laughed at this comment it’s so adorable and true 😂 ive always had a love for fish but idk what it is about this comment but I love it
@KeepingFishSimple is there a way for me to send you a photo of my fish to see if it was pregnant. I have had her in a mesh tank inside the other tank as the other fish were bullying her. She has a black spot on her and looks square but I generally want to be sure.
So when I went to buy my guppies, I asked for 5 males. Well it ends up there was 1 female in the bunch. So yes she's pregnant. Just went to buy a second tank to be able to move her. But the problem is I didn't want her to stay with the babies cuz I don't want her to eat them, but the second tank has 4 males.😳 what should I do? This is my first experience with a pregnant guppy.
i have some females that are rounded and 2 that are for sure more squared. the last few days i was wondering which guppy was pregnant but now i know a difference of rounded and squared i know for sure what guppys just gave birth!
My albino koi swordtails have orange gravid spots haha. Just a cute little knowledge nugget you might not think of if you haven’t had albino livebearers before. Haven’t gotten any fry to grow up from them yet. Idk if they eat their fry more readily or if albino fry are more vulnerable. Or both 🤷♀️ The fry in there from other fish have done just fine. I haven’t tried separating the females yet but I’m okay just sticking with what I have and letting the strongest fry survive, as cruel as that may sound. They’ve got java moss, guppy grass, and hornwort growing like weeds in there so EVENTUALLY someone should be able to make it to adulthood lol
i have a female guppy and seems to have all the indicators of being pregnant and males in the same place but they have became aggressive toward her so i put her in the nursery container but i can tell she still has a while before birth should i keep her in there or move her?
Ok so i got this pregnat girl from the store and i can see the babies eyes and stuff, but its like she only has a few babies in there. Shes not fat at all even though her gravid spot is big and shes already squared off! I have her in a seperat tank but shes been this way for almost a month now and no babies! Whats going on? Is she baby bound? Is there anything i can do to help her?
Like this bro really helpful have been away for a few days my one guppy gave birth and all over my big tank but there is mollies should i just leave them there is alot of plants and they can't easily be seen by me

my guppy was chasing and biting my Blackmore yes i have them in the same tank. So i took the guppy out and put her in a isolation box and after 5 mins it gave birth to 3 fries. The weird part was it wasn’t even fat or squared it looked like a teen age fish not ready for delivery and this being my first time i have saved the babies . 2 of them can swim and one cannot swim so the 3 rd one is always at the bottom of the tank and when i move it it swims but again goes down to the bottom of the tank. I tried feeding it to the other fish but it being fast non can eat it .. so im keeping it too my differently able guppy
Hi I have 2 pregnant guppys and one female has the dark spot but she is really small still and not fat like the other two i have just one male so that would be a good male to female ratio but my male singles one pregnant female out he chases just her trying to breed i think but i dont understand why?
@KeepingFishSimple have you ever had any issues or raised Lyretail Mollies? even when i have a tank full of healthy fish, anytime i seem to add lyretails to my tanks they often die within 24 hours of being added ive tried looking up solutions for the situation but everywhere i look it says they are very hardy and can survive almost anything?
also you are the best fish channel I ever watched I have some crayfish I don't want can I ship them to you also I have golden guppies that I don't want do you eat them
Sir I have 3 females and 13 males live in same tank. But only 1 female 3 males are adult but my 2 females are only 2 month old but they like pregnant is it possible
I have a pregnant guppy with a very large belly, with a very dark gravid spot. So far, it's been over 2 months and I still haven't seen any frys. Is that abnormal for it to be that long? I am concerned, but so far the pregnant guppy is eating and resting normally. In addition, my guppy has been hiding in my plants a lot lately, so I hope it will give birth soon. Poor momma!
Hello! Did your guppy give birth? I’m having the same issue with my guppy and I’m lost in what to do! Her back story is..7 weeks ago she gave birth to 41 healthy fry. Is it true females can store sperm for preferred water conditions(becoming pregnant without a male in tank)?
