If you've been around for awhile, a stachescriber for awhile, you're well aware.. I enjoy heading Western Nebraskee. Catch Or Die Toors, Weast Bound Toors, smaller non-toor trips. Most were recorded on the better half of our state. There's one like that I've always been scared of committing to though.. A lake by the name of Lake Mac. This big B is 22+ miles long, and filled with some of the biggest fish in the state. So Clint and I headed westward, determined and committed to cracking the big egg that is Big Mac. Let's see what we can catch. PAAA POWWW!!!

Me and 2 friends are all from Laramie, Wyo, but we did a lake Mac trip this summer and shamoked the trophy size walters and all got a big bonus wiper too! Lake Mac truly is a beast of a lake!

Best time to fish McConaughy is at night, during the Alewife spawn they are all over the shore on the dam. That is where the big wipers and white bass lurk is the dam, they bite all night. Live bait the Alewife’s or use 5 inch white swimbaits

little tip for ya. (i’m a local) around this time/late july. if you try out otter creek at lake mac, you’ll nail the biggest pike ever.

Most of the time you will start at big mac, work your way down the ditch at lake Ogalalla, drive over the hill to Paxton,pick up the ditch, and fish the checks, and inlets, and outlets all the way to Moloney.
Hey I was out there today for the first time, completely skunked. Had to ask around at the campgrounds to figure out how to get to the Sutherland canal. Keystone Roscoe, yeah? I was there from that bridge up to the diversion dam at the lake. Just a couple hours but not even a nibble. Any advice or more details on that route you're talking about?

Personally I love catching carp, I don’t really eat much fish so I mainly fish for sport. So catching carp is always fun, they fight hard as hell. Though I will say me and my buddy got a couple of carp with a spear out of the Platte river and ended up smoking them, was damn good with hot sauce and tarter mix

Josh you need to drive south.. Oklahoma has plenty of hydro dams and lock and dams on its many river systems. Hybrid and striper are in great numbers April/May spawn bite is hit and miss but awesome days mixed in there.. June/July you get to see them boiling, fish get smaller but easier to catch.. August/September the lakes will turn over and the bite can get real tricky but they will stick close to the dissolved oxygen being produced by the dams.. winter is my favorite everyone is gone and I smash the big fish.. a high quality 10 or 11ft surf rod 4k or 5k reel with 20lb braid and it will be fish on.. after you straighten out your split rings and hooks you'll need to upgrade those too.. if you came to southeast Oklahoma or north Texas I could show you some bad ass striper fishing

Your first fish looks like a common/mirror hybrid or something lol. I find it mad how you pretty much throw them big carp back, they get babied here in the UK specially on privately owned lakes

U ever consider coming even farther weast like my neck of the woods in AZ? Gila River and I think Salt River have some big ass flat heads ... Even the bigger lakes have them. Think about Stache Man ..
The European stache-stains might be upset that you snag them or let them lay on the ground, but the Australian stache-stains are upset that you let them go alive. lol
