- I've fished A LOT OF SPILLWAYS, as some of you know, but one always stands out in my mind. It was drained 4 years ago, but even a couple years after being drained, it was already good again. I've always beat the brakes off the channel cats, but the wiper have eluded me besides a couple. One of the couple, was an ABSOLUTE MONSTER. After failing at the biggest lake in the state on wipers, it was time for redemption, and we DEFINITELY GOT REDEMPTION!!! PAAA POWWW!!!

Quick tip for ya, After many years of wading around on slick cement at spillways I have learned that putting a pair of old socks on your shoes makes them slip proof. Just an fyi from an old guy, lol

You can also go buy a pair of felt bottom wading boots and they work great too!! A little more expensive but over time they hold up and with the price of socks nowadays it’s probably really not much more expensive

Having bad a$$ concrete picnic tables at the base of a insane dam. Is the most insanely cool thing ive never seen in 30yrs of fishing. So sweet.

This one really doesn't. One of my faves.
Believe it or not but we use the icefishing shanty to camp fish steak down a cheap tarp and pop up the shanty steak it down its super nice and whe windows are amazing to see the glow stick hit indicators.
The change in temp is what causes that to happen to fish like trout and stripper. The thermo shock kills them some places don't allow you to fish for them in the summer for that reason.
Most humble, down-to-earth fishing channel on the internet. Those were some massive fish and must have been a blast to catch!

Well I did not get the same luck I didn't get a single fish.
And man do I love my Stradic...I have it on a Favorite Defender medium rod. It is by far the smoothest spinning reel I've ever used.

I always know when u got a REALLY GOOD fish because u always curl ur left reeling hand and u always keep pushing up your glasses 😂 💪🏼 idk why or where i even noticed or said that but the way u curl your hand that you reel it in with and also you do that and always say "GOT EM!" "GOT EM!" 😂 I LOVE THE STACHE FAMILY AND LOVE THE STACHE BUT MAN U CANT LET IT COVER YOUR TOP LIP 😂 😂
I have seen what happened to that first wiper happen to rainbow trout in the summer time. I’m pretty sure they were overheated and just sort of seized up. When you catch early season king salmon on a hot year they’ll get so hot that by the time you get them in they just go stiff. One even started hemorrhaging out of its gills. So yeah. Heat stroke or something.
Just recently started my channel on TH-cam because I was inspired by several TH-camrs... Didn't realize one of (actually 2 of) the best ones were living in the same town as me! WOW! Keep haulin in those Wipey Dipeys, Monster Cats, Bass Fish, Drum Buds and congrats on your best catch Boo-Booberto. Love seeing the love you two have for one another. Very cool. Hopefully we bump into one another sometime out on the water. Way to represent good ol' Nebraska with Merica's favorite past time fishing for pigs.

Caught my first Walleye in a week tonight. Been doing pretty good on the crappie after sundown but the mosquitoes are out for blood then. Keep up the good work, and stuff.

If wipers taste like stripers, they are really good, just have to cook them differently. My favorite way to eat striper is blackened fish.

I went fishing a couple weeks ago and had the weirdest luck. I used nightcrawlers and cut up white perch for channel cats and we've been putting a corn rod out because there are some huge grass carp in a nearby lake. Caught 3 channel cats on the nightcrawlers and zero carp on the corn. But we did catch quite a few channels on the corn including a 15 pounder and several in the 5-10 pound range. I also don't know about anyone else but here in Kansas it's like the catfish didn't go prespawn until early July because I haven't had any luck until then
They might be post spawn as well! Hungry and don't want to share with the carp 😂
I was catching catfish in Kansas 2 weeks ago loaded with eggs.

I caught the biggest hybrid of my life in a Pittsburgh dam on a bluegill! I got an award for it and the picture is in my garage! Those hybrids crush bluegill! Awesome 👏
I have seen fish do that, like stroke out and get stiff, not sure what causes it, maybe they over heat like heat stroke? I cannot believe you do not like Striped Bass, White Bass or Trout, they are three of the best tasting fish, it must be the waters you catch them from I guess or that they are stockers. I am used to eating non stocked ones from clear cold water so I guess they taste better. Well done my friend, that is such a crazy place.

Loved this video, these wipers hit like a brick and fight a lot like the salmon I'm used to.

Imo that fish went all stiff, bc when it ate the hook it may have hit a nerve or something. I've had it happen with bass and cats a few times. The either ate the hook or the rear treble got in the gullet. And they went stiff as a board. Ate them as well.
