Easier than that ; I don’t know what else . This is a fabulous recipe for a person like Me , who does not want to be in the kitchen to much . Excellent job , thank you for the video . 👍
I just made this and it's wonderful. Heat level was great for a Thai chili lover like myself. I have spent over half a day on some chili oil recipes and ended up throwing them out, usually because it's overloaded with garlic. I followed the recipe exactly, well, I halved the amount of dried garlic and onion/shallot and held them back to see if I needed the other half. I didn't. I thought it was a little too salty, so I would hold off on the salt and taste it after, if you think you need it. P,S. I used Chosen brand, Avocado Oil. Truly a break through for someone that's used ALL the other oil selections.
@@WoonHeng Hi there, WoonHeng! I sent this recipe to my daughter who eats a lot of chili oil like I do...egg rolls, shrimp toast and noodles are just a platform to really eat the chili oil. She said it's crazy good and such a simple recipe that delivers. Thank you.
I can't WAIT to make this. You definitely gained a new subscriber. Love your recipes. What can you use to replace sugar and keep it tasty still? What kind of oil do you use?
Thanks so much! You'll need something sweet to balance off the saltiness and spice. You may use other sweetener you like or skip it if you can't have sugar. I used avocado oil, but olive works great too.
Hello Kareen, It's good up to months so long the oil covers the sediment and you use a clean spoon to scoop them each time. I still have mine since early Jan. Or you can refrigerate for longer shelf life.
Do you think you could add chopped lemongrass to this and it would work? I like the flavour of lemongrass in the Vietnamese chili oils, but I'm not sure if it would work without cooking it in the pan. I think it should if the oil is hot enough though.
In the Arabic culture, we do all of us in olive oil, and the olives will never go bad even after 10 years anything that is preserved in Olive oil will last you at least a year
Woonheng Can u please explain to me people's obsession w/ shallots? I don’t get it. I never have them in my house & I have to go out of my way to get them. Is there an acceptable substitution?
Shallots are used mainly in French cooking and Chinese, as well as many other cooking styles. They are tiny small red onions with a delicate aroma that's less pungent than your typical onion. They also have a slight garlic flavor to them, although I've never picked up on that. Basically shallots work with so many recipes without overpowering the dish. They are considering fancy because in french cooking they use them as onions in fine cooking. You can get them in any well stocked grocery store. I've never had any problem finding them on the west coast. Usually they cost $4.00 lbs or more. The idea here is, shallots are used to impart a subtle onion flavor, which makes it nice and easier to control the amount of flavor in the food you are cooking. Hope that helps.
Exactly what I was looking for. An easy, simple chili oil recipe with easy to find ingredients and no extra stuff. Thank you! I'll try this.

That’s mouth watering.. did you use korean chili? Sorry, not used to it ☺️🇧🇷
Hey Tess, I used a mix, gochugaru and chili powder (that has flakes in it, the seeds).

Hi Woon Heng, can you suggest for soy sauce replacement, would regular pink salt make it. Thank you for your lovely quick recipe
Hey Raam, soy sauce has a great umami taste. If you can't have soy, you can use coconut amino or yes, you can use salt. :)
@@WoonHeng thank you for your response. Sadly I'm allergic to soya base products. Thanks again

Where did you get the dried shallots and the dried minced garlic? Thanks.
I got them from the dried herb section.
how long can it last,
In the Arabic culture, we do all of us in olive oil, and the olives will never go bad even after 10 years anything that is preserved in Olive oil will last you at least a year
Amazing, definitely will get this one. Thanks.
One question if I may, did you use your own dried minced garlic and onion or shop bought? Thanks ❤️
Hey Bee, I used store-bought. :) Let me know how it goes if you have tried it. :)
I'm stuck with the dried garlic and onion part.
Do I chop them into small pieces and dry them in the sun or?
Or you can take the easy way out and buy dried garlic and onion

Can I use raw onion and garlic?

Could I used fresh garlic and shallots or do they absolutely have to be dried?
Hi there, yes you can, but you'll need to saute them first or it won't last long. :)
where can i get the dried garlic
from my uncle shop
What kind of oil is best?
where to get dried garlic and onion
Do mention the quantity of ingredients
Hello watching and support from glecious tv
Can i skip the onions?
🔥🔥❤️
I can’t find dried shallots for nothing! What should I use? Is minced onion the same thing?
Search for fried shallots or dried onion
use onion powder and garlic powder. fresh minced onion will last a few days dependinng on the weather
Can I skip soy sauce
how long do you heat the oil for?
Around 5 minutes or so until it starts to smoke
Tq❤
- dried garlic & yangpa
- chili flakes
- sugar
- salt
- light soy sauce
Hi, if i do this, the chili will burn... What temperature of the oil should it be?
The oil temp shouldn't be over 380F, I used around 360
@@WoonHeng can I add oil when it starts smoking? I'm using canola oil
No sesame seeds?
❤❤❤
Ok but why nobody is telling that for how much time I can store it??
Which oil u used???
Why the soy sauce? It will seperate out anyways
I asked the same question about the soy sauce until I tried it. It adds an unique flavor so good
Which type chilli flakes? Some.r super hot.
Quantity?
Oil konsa h ??
Is soy sauce compulsory? :(
Which oil
what are the measurements
😊
Here's a pro tip for everyone. Drizzle this stuff on pizza with a little bit of honey and it is out of this world.
Yummy but no sugar please !!!
And all the chiiles are burnt after pouring hot oil.... I tried
why do you have to cool it before you put it in the jar? why can’t you just add the ingredients and then the oil directly to the jar?
The jar will burst due to heat
such hot oil always burns my chilli flakes and there the oil
i did not see MGS and light soy sauce haiya uncle Rogar wil be sad
Share.
Ouch.
I burnt it 🥲 better not use smoking canola oil
Shelf life?
depends where you live i mean the weather and always use a fresh clean dry spoon. it can last a year or more
I really hate chilly + sugar wtf
Damnnn Girl. Content of this jar can kill half of European population! This even look to hot!
Is that much salt and sugar necessary? Can I remove the sugar completely and just add a few salt? Or are they needed to preserve for long time?
The sugar is not necessary, but the salt is very necessary!!!... add a piece of garlic clove finely minced and that it
@@cicidbourbon5261 Oh okay, thank you!
