Holy, this song is a masterpiece! Michael Jackson and Teddy Riley were genius (and so are you for putting this all together). I love this song and the positive vibe your on Sammy!
It's real crazy how 'Remember the time' is super original. I mean, minimalist in the music core but so punchy in the arrangements, vocally and instrumentally. Riley's work is underrated and that's make me sad. Those demo vocal ideas from him are so out of this 🌎💎
Some of those Teddy vocals reminds me of some parts of The Jackson's 'Heartbreak Hotel' I love it. Also, can you please react to The Jackson's Your Ways? Thanks, love your channel 🖤
The drum beat on this demo reminds me of the one that was used on the PM Dawn's song "Set a drift on memory bliss". This demo is very cool, MJ vocals always precise. Thank you for posting, your work is super appreciated!
Teddy Riley: Musical Genius Michael Jackson: Legend I like the alternate version as well as the released. Wow! MJ shouts were so loud he distorted the microphone 😆
Great channel. This was one of Michaels greatest ever vocals. He was a brilliant beat boxer and scat singer. And his backing vocals are next level. Love the video version of the song. Because that breakdown in the middle is awesome..... Keep up the amazing work....
I’m so pleased you’ve done this, it’s my favourite MJ song, I’ve got it on 12” vinyl, that breakdown at 9:08 on his video is superb with just the vocals and the beat. Even the club version by Steve Hurley on the 12” has a lot of his beatboxing and ad libs thrown in and makes it amazing 👍🏾
Hey, Sammy, thank you so much for this one. This is, I think, my favorite song by Michael Jackson and I absolutely loved listening to those unreleased tracks. My inner child is about to tear up,🥲! Thank you! As for more options to see next by MJ, I would love your analysis on Who is it, or Give it to Me, or Dangerous. Thank you!!!
This song is perfect, one of the best classic new jack swing songs ever. The melody, progression, vocals, vibe... i am so happy it is one of his most remembered tracks ever. Dangerous remains my favourite MJ album overall, very consistent, risky and original with some of his highest heights musically. I think the 90s is MJs best decade musically, if he hadn´t lost usa´s support these songs would be as popular as the thriller hits.
Much of Dangerous sounded relatively cold and distant than its predecessor albums. This song, I would argue, is the strongest and most melodic of all the tracks that balances the emphasis on hard-hitting beats with lush instrumentation, its angular sounds with its sweet chord progression and smooth vocal harmonies. Even more than Black or White and Heal The World, this is the only other song from the album that bears that immediate, instantly recognizable classic MJ sound, bridging the soundscape he was coming from to the more modern one he was leading towards for the rest of the decade.
Thx as usual for the video… Teddy Riley and MJ worked really good here… Final Mix… a little too New Jack Swing, not bad (I would’ve sent this to AC radio back then), but definitely there’s a lot of edge missing from the final mix and production… synths I think and snare. Vocals volume also should’ve been a little higher…
I think these tracks are a combination of the original (vocal) tracks and additional tracks produced for the remixes released on maxi single. Just listen to the album version and you’ll hear the difference. I wonder how Teddy Riley made the lovely backing vocals. They sound like a harmoniser or something similar has been used to get that ‘processed’ sound. Autotune was not available yet, or was it?
Well, "Dangerous" actually came out in 1991; the RTT single was out in '92, though (maybe that's what you meant?). Love these breakdowns - I enjoy hearing how many layers go into these songs. How on earth do you get your hands on these stems? :O
I truly believe the Dangerous album was on its way to match the succes of Thriller/Bad if it wasn't for the extortion tragedy that occured in 1993. It ruined everything.
This version sounds more pop like Janet´s BECAUSE OF LOVE, more generic I think... I prefer the final released version, more aggressive snare and more gaps in the beat to listen to MJ... I wish they had kept some of the pads and piano, the outro is so cool with those strings too. thanks a lot for this video
Unsubbing for supporting kids being rped, wether u realise it or not when u endorse a kid rpist, then that's what u endorse, period. Altho ur a grown man, I'm sure u know that..but im sure his victims loved ur video
LMAO stay pressed and go cry about it, Michael was found *INNOCENT* whether you like it or not, there's proof out there and it's *real* proof, not fabricated like the lies told about him. Again, go cry about it.
Very dumb take and a clear example of not knowing how to separate the artist from the art, regardless of wherever you stand on the issues. It’s like discounting Phil Spector’s contributions to music just because of what he would do later in his life, except that he was categorically proven guilty, while MJ wasn’t.
You'll never go wrong studying MJ music.

Super original? I guess you remember the time, but not “every little step” from 3 years earlier.
@revjeffg I didn't knew that tune. Even that 'Remember the time' is way relevant
@ and now that you’ve heard it…? I’m not saying Remember the Time is irrelevant. I’m saying it’s a bit of a ripoff.
@@revjeffg Here in Europe some tracks don't get relevance from the states.
@@revjeffg remember the time and every little step sound nothing alike.

Give in to me is criminally underrated
Bcs it wasnt ever released as a single… Which of the singles would u have replaced in any case? 😮
@federicochang3249 it was, just not in the US. Hit number 2 on the UK singles chart.
The drum beat on this demo reminds me of the one that was used on the PM Dawn's song "Set a drift on memory bliss". This demo is very cool, MJ vocals always precise. Thank you for posting, your work is super appreciated!

😃❤️❤️ I LOVE this!!
Yes , more please, what an amazing opportunity to learn about Michael's creative process .
I love Remember the time! It was the Dangerous album that I became a fan of Michael Jackson. Love hearing the making of a song 🎵. Thank you
Very cool production elements, it’s fun to hear Every Little Step They Took. Wink. 😁
This is incredible, Michael Genius, let's have more videos on this topic 🤗
Perioddd my fave MJ song… In The Closet is my second fave soooo do that next 😌
Wow Teddy Riley is a genius🔥 Michael Jackson is that guy🔥

Wow, insightful and motivational. One of my top songs from Michael Jackson and on that album.
Love this demo mix, rivals the original, love the ending, like a smooth out new jack beat. The genius of Teddy Riley and Michael Jackson.
The extra beats and Teddy's adlibs are what were used for the 12" main mix, and new jack jazz versions.
Awesome as always. Thank you!!! ❤
One of my eternal jams.
Oh my gaaaaaaa that's one of my favorites song ever!
I just love the Dangerous album. My favorite!
6:47 reminds me of Janet's "you want this"
Dangerous is my favorite album of his!

Best song along side with 'blood on the dance floor'
Super cool content! New fan here!
the new microphone is a great addition to ya set up!
I want to hear the breakdown of Jody Watley's Don’t You Want Me, Friends, and Looking For A New Love.
Sounds like New Jack remixes .... thank u.
They are. The extra beats and Teddy's adlibs are what were used for the 12" main mix, and new jack jazz versions.
@@4TheExec So cool
Where do you get these files? Please tell us
Doubtful you'll be told. Love to be wrong.
I liked this alternative version better. Sounds more 90’s. They could’ve released this on the single as a B-side.
2:31 sounds like the beat for the dance breakdown in the music video
Michael Jackson legend

wondering the same
A breakdown of Grace Jones’ ‘Slave to the rhythm’ world be awesome please Sammy.
I think the vocals fit much better with the music in the original version.
Especially in the verses
Awesome vid :) can you please do Can’t Let Her Get Away?? It’s one of my favorite songs, was my most played song last year!
Can some tell me what vocoder was used on all the vocal stacks?
Heddy’s ted phone bleed 🤣
I'd love to hear In The Closet.
finally one more mj song, les go , can u pls tell from where u buy these multitracks
Not related to this but Lady Marmalade would be really interesting hearing all those parts by the ladies...
PLS DO MELT AWAY MARIAH CAREY 😢
INCREDIBLE!
Please do The Roof by Mariah!! The vocals are insane
Well, "Dangerous" actually came out in 1991; the RTT single was out in '92, though (maybe that's what you meant?). Love these breakdowns - I enjoy hearing how many layers go into these songs. How on earth do you get your hands on these stems? :O
Do you know what effect is on Teddy’s vocals?
Talkbox or vocoder
❤😊
do " drive me wild" next dangerous
please
will you be there next pleaseee
Hi Sammy,
Please get your Bluesky profile...a lot of people there need to find your great work!
Please do ‘Tabloid Junkie’
Hey, nice video!! Would you please do "Calling all my lovelies" by Bruno Mars ?
In the alternative vocals sounds like a voocoder or autotune, but autotune doesnt exists right?
this version is way better
Remember the Time was released on Dangerous in 1991 NOT 1992.
The single was released on January 14 1992
@@Riverbeetle1964You can listen to the song when you have the album, you don't need no single.
I truly believe the Dangerous album was on its way to match the succes of Thriller/Bad if it wasn't for the extortion tragedy that occured in 1993. It ruined everything.
Such a Jacob Collier's vibe
BLACK OR WHITE please
Please Do Michael Jackson 2 Bad
Can you do Froot by Marina and The Diamonds please?
Who Is It !!!!
It's all about layers isn't it.
Please Sammy, "Diet Pepsi" by Addison Rae in the next video 🥺🙏🏻
Can you PLEASE PLEASE do swine by lady gaga

0:22 Remember The Time is createed in 1991 not 1992
actually I'd say late 1990 if anything video release '91
It would’ve been made 90-91, but was released as a single in 1992 🙏
Please do womanizer britney next
That is kind of a hot take Sammy, because those drums are just not as hard and crisp, so you don't really get that New Jack Swing feel...
the original is much better... the production hits harder and is way more polished.
Shaky hands when listening 😛😆 Get a doctor.
