"But": I wouldn't do the cut and bending in the front - a clean cut and a small peace of ready made plastic-angle would do a better job - I think ... But for having a fast and cheap result - great !

I did this a ages ago also but used a storm water poly drain resivour thingo. The further the lip is from the actual tub the more beneficial.
