I feel we have 2 main types of viewers; people accomplishing moto-camping frequently, and ones who can only dream and watch the vids, rarely getting out there. I’m the 2nd, and I appreciate the bee-jeezass out of your production efforts. Especially considering YT is littered with content creators who “know what they’re doing”. Well done sir!
wow .. what a wakeup for anyone who thought maybe they, too, could be a motovlogger like Elliot. It ain't as easy as riding and pointing your iphone. Thanks for this awesome video i'll stick to just riding (*when i get an actual motorcycle)
1st class. Don’t care how u produce getting shots and sounds of The Best Bike In The World… just give us more! Onboards, fly-bys… Fly bys, all day. Every day. 😆 You have them nailed sir🫡👍 Hello from overpopulated, pothole island, midgey clan. 🏴
YESSSSS! Please keep making content. Your amazingly well produced videos were one of the main reason I switched from a BMW R1200RT to my new and much lighter Triumph T120 Black. Sometimes less is more. I have no regrets either. Only 100 miles on the clock and I’m loving every second of it!
A handful of cotton balls dipped liberally in vaseline and carried in a ziploc starts a fire everytime. Love the video!! Especially love the riding shots and displaying your humanness!! lol
Your first video I saw was your trip to the Dragon, and your production values impressed me. They are still top-notch, rusty skills be damned. Good to see you back.
Nicely done. Really appreciate the behind the scenes creativity. I'm not a moto vlogger in the true sense but do put out video rides with my yap shut, and for good reason. I am pretty sure if I tried doing what you did here I would have a lot of f-bombs and other bleeping edits in post. My favorite shot from your morning b-roll: 15:48.😉 Like you, I've been motorcycling for just about 10 years and have only recently started moto camping -- precisely 2 times. But I've caught the bug and want to get out and camp more. Not quite yet to the point of wanting to moto camp on a two week adventure but that could be a possibility once I've gotten into a good routine for overnight camping. Looking forward to more from you. Subbed.
Elliot! Moto-camp sometime and come to Tucson. If you want to get back to ride reviews you know I have a few to reviews. The invite is always open for you and your GF. I never moto-camped. Wished I had in my younger days. Great to see you back man! Excellent video!
This was fantastic. It really shows though how little i know when it comes to editing and making a video have a actual point. I tried one not long ago but lost my camera with all the riding footage on the way home so the result was dissapointing to say the least. Please keep up with these moto camping videos, i really enjoyed it. Cheers from England.
I'm glad you finally joined the moto-camping community. You reminded me of my first night moto-camping, I almost froze myself to death. You live and you learn.
Great video, thanks for sharing your first-time moto camping. I'm planning my first one soon. Your creative shots and commentary are amazing. Nice work.
Great insight into all the effort. Thank you for going to such lengths to produce your content. You are in my top two motorcycle content providers - you and Freddie Dobbs.
You son of a gun! You made a video of you making a video and the result was amazing! LOL! I have a speed twin as well in Brazil and motocamping is something maybe in future I will take my chances (I camping but usually in a car, so motocamping is on another level to me).
Enjoyed watching, would like to give the Moto camp thing a go,I always tell myself I’d enjoy it. I’ve done a ton of travelling via Moto but the convenience of cheap accommodation in my travels through Europe have seen me carry the ultra light camp setup but barely use it, go figure. Thanks for sharing and inspiring to at least think about giving it a go in the future.
I really enjoy your videos. I ride a triumph Bonneville t120 and i feel like i can do the long road trips with my Bonnie cuz you do them with your speed twin. I’ve only been to PA but plan to do more trips in the future, and get into ADV riding (not with the Bonnie tho lol)
Hi! If you have an unpaved driveway or occasionally pull into a gravel lot, it's fine. But if you are planning to ride off-road trails you should be looking at the Scrambler 1200.
What's your coffee setup? I got hooked on Cafe Bustelo instant packs. They pack inside my stove kit and taste great with an airplane bottle sized shot of Bailey's Irish Cream!
For a one-night campout I just pre-measure Trader Joe's instant into an empty disposable water bottle, then add water and shake it up when it's time to drink it. I only drink coffee cold, can't stand hot beverages of any kind.
Great stuff, plus nice to get a warm-weather trip video when it's still winter. :) What Tamron lens do you have on your A6300? We should organize a DC motocamping trip when it warms up! Also on the note of getting your GoPro to look more like mirrorless footage, what I've found works nicely is setting the frame rate to 24fps, locking the shutter speed at 1/48 and locking the ISO at like 400 or so, then using a set of ND filters as appropriate for lighting. It gives you a nice blurring of things as they go past, creates a lot of motion! Looks more like the Sony footage that way. :)
Thanks! I'm running the 17-70 f/2.8 in this video. And thanks for the tips, I'd just been using auto shutter on the GoPro. If you ever want to organize something, just email me! (I have abandoned Instagram for the time being)
Thank you! It's the Givi Dolomiti 30L Monokey top case, mounted to the Givi rear rack for Triumph Speed Twin 1200 (SR6417) via a Givi Monokey adapter plate (E251). It has changed my life completely. Having lockable storage turned my Speed Twin from a weekend warrior into a daily driver.
Welcome back, VB! I’ve missed your excellent content. I’ve been moto camping on my Speed Twin. Planning one on AZ soon. My sure fire starter recipe: Vaseline rubbed into dryer lint stuffed into a toilet paper roll core. Btw, how many miles do you have on your ride now?
No offense, please don't take it the wrong way; I personally wouldn't invest - in regards of Motocamping - too much into Titan Cook Stuff & Gas Stoves. Alot of people doin' it. I know. It works. It gets you by. If you Hike with it, you will most certainly prefer the light weight - on a Motorcycle though, it doesn't make sooo much of a difference. Stainless Steel stuff is cheaper, more robost, needs less attention and you can simple put it over any kind of fire anyway and actually cook with it. Which brings me to instant food stuff; great. All those Hiking Food Stuff is also great *if* you are hiking. (Although I would then find my favourit military food items and be on a look out, sometimes they have sales for that, or look up some tutorials how you make that stuff at home - I mean, if you hike more than one hike or two a year, they can get expensive af) Yet on a Motorcycle ... Sure, if you're on an adventure trip several days - With no town you pass through, sure. On the other hand, for those Weekend trips and even bigger tours on which you go through towns with Supermarkets; they have alot of stuff too. And on a Motorcycle you have often more space as whenever you hike. In addition to that, you can also sometimes pick up fresh meat and cook that or other stuff. Fresh vegetables; Onions and Potatos, Beans and Noodles don't have to be cooled down. Combine that with an Alcohol Stove e.g. or a simple Camp Fire and you've a real cooking expierence - which is actually pretty relaxing - and often food which is more to your own taste. Plus, it's often even far cheaper. Whenever I am on Festivals, Meet Ups or even in Camp with others on Tours, the first days everybody is like "Look, how fast haha" and after day three - they can't see those expensive hiking meals anymore.
Thanks! I saw the Speed Twin as a straight upgrade to the Street Twin I used to own. It offered more of what I loved, with no sacrifices in exchange (except money). Going to the T120 instead would have meant taking a hit on weight and fun factor. I have since come to love the T120 for its own merits, especially as a tourer, but for my everyday riding I still prefer the rowdier, handier Speed Twin 1200.
Dude, now you are just showing off. This was a laugh out loud funny video that managed to still look beautiful and sound great. The warts-and-all approach was just perfect. Quick technical question for you. I have a dead-catted stereo recorder on my rear fender in a setup similar to your own. How are you able to get such a nice, snarling sound without all the transmission noise I am getting?
Thanks, T.M.! I unfortunately don't have much audio expertise to offer; my setup was very much a "set it and forget it" situation when I figured it out all those years ago. It's possible that the "low cut" feature of my H1 Zoom is helping my recordings out a bit? I am actually starting to feel a little unsatisfied with the amount of fuel pump noise and chain noise I'm getting, and may rethink my setup soon.
I think your exhaust is making it sound better than my stock item, but you still seem to get less chain nonsense than I do on a basically identical bike and microphone arrangement. 🤔
You make good videos. If you want to build a following you need to post regularly, like once a week at least. Either way Ill still watch, but youtube won’t suggest your videos even though I subscribe to your channel. I have to remember to go and check. And since you don’t post often I don’t check often. Today I was trying to remember the name of your channel so I could check for something new. Luckily it came to me after thinking about it a little while. Anyway very cool video and thanks for making these adventures for us.
Don't keep beating yourself up I find your videos funny entertaining and informative. You should quit your daytime job and do a video a week on TH-cam I think you would have a good following
I don’t think people realize how much work goes in to vlogs like this..for instance you had to stop alongside the road, set up the camera, ride back, then ride past camera, then ride back and get camera…just for that shot riding down the road😂
That's a great question. For some people, it probably does interfere with the joy of riding. But I absolutely love making videos, so to me the filming process is its own joy I get to experience in tandem with motorcycling.
behind the scene parts butchers the pacing. maybe quickly mention what happened instead of stopping the well edited parts? or add them at the end of the video in their own section
Triumph motorcycles are generally very reliable. I see lots of them for sale with 30,000+ miles, especially the 1050 triples. But nothing matches the reliability of a Honda or Yamaha.
Thank you very much! I think you're right about that. I am still the second type too.
What you lack in talent you make up in persistent and humility. I really enjoy these videos
Thank you
Greetings from Norway! Enjoyed your video
Great video Elliott!
Nice to see you making videos again.
You sir are talented, I am quite the critic and I have nothing to add except thank you!
Thank you very much!
Great to see you back Elliott, missed your vids and sense of humour 👍
wow .. what a wakeup for anyone who thought maybe they, too, could be a motovlogger like Elliot. It ain't as easy as riding and pointing your iphone. Thanks for this awesome video i'll stick to just riding (*when i get an actual motorcycle)
I'm wishing you an early "Welcome to the fold!"
Ye canny beat the Van Blamm bum cam. Love from Scotland.
The V.B.B.C., as it were
Certainly has a ring to it, as it were. Ooh er
Well this always fells like a VIP channel of a big, high quality TH-camr or so. Nice to see you again!
Thanks! Nice to be back at it.

This was awesome. Man I missed these vids, thank you for posting!

Thank you! Ride it in good health
A handful of cotton balls dipped liberally in vaseline and carried in a ziploc starts a fire everytime. Love the video!! Especially love the riding shots and displaying your humanness!! lol
An even easier and less messy approach to this is to keep the cotton balls dry in the ziploc and bring a tube of Vaseline to squeeze out as needed.
Good point@@InTransit8911
Excellent video and documentary content! Keep up the great work!
Your first video I saw was your trip to the Dragon, and your production values impressed me. They are still top-notch, rusty skills be damned. Good to see you back.
Thank you, glad to be back
Just watched this episode it lashing down side here in wales 🏴 so great to see someone enjoying the outdoors and open roads. 👍 keep them coming
Thank you, glad you enjoyed yourself
Its good to have you back.

Thanks!
Love your motocamping vlog. keep it coming

Much appreciated, Ken! I do want to make it down there. Maybe after the wedding, when funds & time allow.
@VanBlamm my mistake "fiance" congrats!
Awesome video, the bloopers made it more entertaining
Welcome back to content creation! Keep the videos coming.
Cool ... nice camp and nice motor you have...
it will get better,well done...
Just love your videos, great insight into what you do.

Loved this!!!
Wow mad editing skills. Very nice!
I'm glad you finally joined the moto-camping community. You reminded me of my first night moto-camping, I almost froze myself to death. You live and you learn.
I'm glad you lived to tell the tale!
Stayed ……………………. till the very end. 👍
Great video as always, it is interesting seeing all the work going into making these videos, looking forward to more in the future.
Makes me want to get on my bike. Well done bro!

That is a huge compliment, thank you! Dobbs is quickly becoming one of my favorites too.
Having just finished filming my first motocamping video... I can relate to all the "wrinkles" in filming. Good work dude.
Thanks, and let me know if you ever post it!

Have you gone over the mo tech saddle bags in a video yet?
Never mind, watching the no gps movie now and seen you did 🍻
From a few years back: th-cam.com/video/qxZywxE6Pyg/w-d-xo.html
They've held up great since then. No issues with durability.

Thanks! I like the sound of that starter, nice and self-contained. I think the bike's got a little over 18,000 miles at this point.
No offense, please don't take it the wrong way; I personally wouldn't invest - in regards of Motocamping - too much into Titan Cook Stuff & Gas Stoves.

entertaining video. How did you decide between the Speed Twin vs a Bonneville 120? Ride safe

Take a shot every time he talks about boy scouts
I have missed a large portion of your life- you are not in Colorado anymore?!
I bought a Speed Twin after watching your vlogs!!
Sadly no, I was only visiting for a few weeks in 2020 and again in 2021. I hope you're enjoying the bike!
Don't keep beating yourself up I find your videos funny entertaining and informative. You should quit your daytime job and do a video a week on TH-cam I think you would have a good following
