About the color scheme of the NYC lightweight cars: They seem to have adopted the "inverse gray" color scheme in 1948, so there was plenty of time for steam passenger power to utilize these cars before full dieselization. I don't think steam on the NYC ever pulled a matching set of the inverse scheme cars because of the mixing of heavyweight/ original lightweight/ budd passenger cars happened around the color switch. At 4:12 you can see an inverse scheme lightweight headed by a Hudson: th-cam.com/video/4yxSHWWpmeU/w-d-xo.html By the way the linked video has all original audio recorded at the time the video was taken, which is extremely rare in my experience.
yea I realized that after the show lol. I believe this particular scheme represents the ATSF Scout train, pre 1953. Oh well, I'll have to use my modelers license for this one :)
@@Hiawatha_Productions I understand. Yea while I was in school I would go home and borrow the parents car to go to shows back to back, as many as I could during break. Now that I just started working, I find myself with more free time!
Excellent!
Dang, nice score!
Beautiful Haul!
thanks!
Nice!
