    Chris’s recipe would be great for Super Bowl party. Jasmine’s recipe would be great with an elegant dinner. Both looked great

    In Australia we call it fill-low dough. The 30’s is a realisation that we’re getting older and now to think about babies and family life, so exciting. I’m 41, have 2 kids, a boy 12, a girl 10 and love getting older because I’m more grateful for what life has given me. Namaste 🙏🏼✌🏼😊

      Getting older is the best. Wisdom. Graditude. More abundance. Just gets better and better.

    "and then we have some nooch, cus... I don't even need to say anything else." --- Chris. CLASSIC. This belongs on a T-shirt.

    To keep your cutting board from sliding you can put a wet paper towel or a wet dish towel under the cutting board! Just a little trick I learned in culinary school and it definitely does the job! 😊

    Never stop praising the black pepper. I love it too. I feel like I'm getting a luxury when I get to eat it. I like the kind sold ground in little bags from Mexico. U get the flavor without the heat.

    I put avocado in that dough when I was a new vegan with some homemade sweet chili sauce and it was soooo good.

    Jasmine got some harsh ingredients tbh. I totally thought the same idea for her recipe, as well as adding nooch/vegan cheese like she mentioned. Overall both were so creative, great job!

    I love both of your ideas/recipes. Mac&Cheese rolls/roll ups are a great way to use leftover mac&cheese, too. Heck, we made Mac&Cheese wontons, when I was in college! I love the Potato/Tomato rolls, and finally bought your eBook! Merry New Year to you, both..

    Chris, phyllo pastry gets dry very quickly, when you work with it cover the part that you don't use with a damp towel to keep it from drying. Happy new year to you both.

  • @JohannaZee
    @JohannaZee 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would make both. They're just great ideas that you start to use up many ingredients on hand. Chris, if you put butter in between the phyllo layers they would crisp up more, and possibly taste better after sitting out. Happy New year, you guys!

    Ah man both of those recipes look delicious! I’m thinking about making the potato roll but I don’t have flax meal...I do have a bag of flax seeds..if I ground them/blend them would that be the same as flax meal?

      Mel _ thank you soooo much!! I figured it would turn it into flax meal but I didn’t want to assume and be completely wrong! Now to make some yummy potato bread! 😀 😋

    I am wondering if Jasmine would still have put in apple sauce if it wasn't for the challenge. This was really hard though. It seems like the rolls were a hit with all the dancing going on. Maybe the apple sauce added moisture without an apple flavor.

    • @erykasr1
      @erykasr1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Applesauce usually replaces oil in baked recipes

    • @Sweetsimplevegan
      @Sweetsimplevegan  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there was no apple flavor!! Just moisture instead of oil as stated above. It was bombbb

  • @erykasr1

    I normally go straight for bread. Especially savory bread. However, I can't bypass mac n' cheese in ANYTHING.

    i would have made vegan quiche and use the flaxseed meal and the applesauce as egg replacements 🙏🏽 then sundried tomatoes w other veggies baked into it! so interesting to think of all the combos people would’ve come up with :)

    • @wishforinfinity
      @wishforinfinity 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Applesauce and flax are typically used as egg replacers in baking, but not in things mimicking egg such as quiche. Tofu and/or chickpea flour are usually used to make vegan quiche.
