I've probably "watched" Their playthrough of Bloody Trapland, Barotrauma and all their Uno video like 10 times Edit: that's not a flex or anything btw, I just was relating to you so you didn't feel weird about it. For those wondering, the blurb in "Mapfriend" that vanished at 16:37 reads as follows: 'According to Western Aviary, reports of crashed are very rare. In fact, the fatality record has been very low compared to most companies. CEO John Slaters said in a statement, "We're very concerned about the recent accident, but we ensure to our customers the w...' Have fun!!!
Mapfriend is a reference to the lost Malaysian airline flight. A recent development is that Internet sleuths have found what looks like a crashed plane in the middle of a forest in S-E Asia, and believe it to be the lost MA plane. Very interesting theory that sends shivers down my spine.
@@versatile_samuel yeah that’s the plane that was used in the final section of the game. That plane is actually there, in real life, although no one knows why it’s there.
I really like Spin to Win, it feels like a man that went mad long ago just scrapping at whatever he can get. From how he responds to many of the 'prizes' it feels like he's accepted by this point he's going to die, so he's just doing what he can to enjoy his last moments.
The first game must be inspired by the Japanese guy who did a live stream where he only lived off of items he won through magazine raffles as he also won Ramen, chocolate and a sleeping bag.
You’re missing some facts here, he didn’t livestream by himself. It was a Japanese livestream show and he was a poor comedian who wanted to get a start in his career. Instead, he was left with lots and lots of trauma. Yes he contractually agreed, but nothing can truly showcase the horrors of what this man went through. When fans were trying to figure out where they locked him up, they moved him to another home so that he couldn’t get food. The thing is, the show can control whether he got food or not. Out of all of the sweepstakes, you would think that food would be the easiest to win, especially if he signs up for multiple food sweepstakes. However, he’s given items like used panties or other useless items
Must mention it was done without him knowing it was live streamed. He only thought it was a bet or something. Note: he was naked the whole time. he had to win even clothers. It was torture for years of being kept in one room, starved, sleep deprived, lonely.
@@billcipher8645 nope it was real. he was always taken to a room and had to take his clothes off to start the game and then had to play games to win stuff. when he eventually “won” (was released, probably due to an outcry about ethics) they took him to another box room, which unbeknownst to him, was actually on a stage in front of a live audience. assuming it was still the game, since he had been moved before, he took off his clothes and waited for instructions, but then the walls of the box fell down and he was left exposed and confused in front of an audience with confetti streaming down and people congratulating him. it was pretty awful. he basically lost his mind in there.
The fact that there was no jumpscare at the end of the video was the scariest shit I've ever seen. Now I just feel like one's gonna happen even after the video ended.
The Spin to Win (first game) sounds like the 90s Japanese show “Susunu! Denpa Shōnen” with Nasubi who was live-streamed for a year only relying on his winnings in the mail. Took him over a year for him to escape that nightmare of a show.
Dev here, I actually based it off of another Japanese film called Symbol, which has a similar premise. That reality show is creepy though. Japanese media is strange all around.
The first game reminds me of a horrible true story of a japanese man who participated in a show where he was stuck in an apartment with nothing and could only get what he won in sweepstakes. All he had was magazines to send sweepstakes with, not even food. This went on for over a year and was livestreamed 24/7. They kept lying to him to make him stay longer. Eventually they let him out but he was traumatized to hell.
@@viktorbraginski His real name is Tomoaki Hamatsu. The producers named him Nasubi because the word is Japanese for 'eggplant,' and due to his nudity the producers had to cover his private parts with an animated eggplant for the television audience (they also mocked his face as looking like an eggplant).

Would you do a 3 scary games: revisited? Where you go back to some of your oldest games and find three that have been updated since you played them to give them a new chance? Just an idea :D
Honestly there have been several times where those games, when they get updated, become standalone videos/series. The Baby in Yellow and I _think_ Mortuary Assistant are two that come to mind. Grandma too. Definitely many more. Going through the "3 Scary games" wiki page, if you really _want_ to, you can open up the lists for the different episodes and see in the info blurb which ones say there was higher than 1 episode, that means one of the three games he played in that video got revisited. Hope that helps :P
I would love to see him play Lonely Things again. He played that shit way back in 3 Scary Games #3 and I still think it’s one of my fav titles he’s played in the 3 Scary Games series, and it’s improved and changed so much. I’d love to see it get more attention.

When i watch mark now it’s so nostalgic and sad at the same time. I always go back to the video of him crying at whatever million subscribers he got when he was sad at the realization that he couldn’t be close with us anymore cause he got too big. But. I’ve been here from the beginning. I know who he was and who he is now. He is and always will be a kind soul just wishing to entertain. I hope he knows we all still know what he’s done and what he means. Who knows one day we may see him on the big screen.
I remember when Markiplier had 35k subscribers. All these years later, here he is. Nearly 1000x that (wow) & still thriving. I hadn't watched one of his videos since 2018/2019. I stopped trying to catch up on an 11 hour charity livestream that had Bob, Wade, & I think Jacksepticeye with Mark. Watching this made me laugh because he hasn't really changed that much & I love the authenticity of Mark staying true to himself. I'm so proud of him for the success he's garnered & continues to amass. Thank You for being You Mark.
I miss those days. I remember when he got his first 1M views video and it was such a big deal; now every single video he posts exceeds that count. I never thought he'd be able to keep me entertained for an entire decade. So many youtubers of the early 2010s who were big back then either went downhill or are simply just no longer getting views that much or pushing out content; I'm glad Mark got the complete opposite of that.
For me Markiplier all started when I watched his woof meow and moo bits. I'm not a die hard Markiplier fan, in terms of watching everything of his. But I'm grateful his content is interesting. Also momento mori, unnus annus was an awesome adventure him and Ethan did

Presentable Liberty was terrifying enough, and it wasn't even a horror game. Spin to Win really needed to capitalize on this existential dread a bit more. I think a horror version of Presentable Liberty would be amazing. PL is still one of my favorite games you've ever covered on your channel. If you're new here, go watch it. It clearly left an impact on Mark, for him to bring it up so many years after playing it. It still sits with me, and I go back to rewatch it at least once a year. Guess it's time to watch it again.

That game with the spin wheel gave me such a good idea for a horror short or even a full movie. Someone trapped in a room with nothing but a bed and the wheel. The wheel has several options like food, water, toy, book, etc; but one option that says death. The goal is to survive for 30 days and win $1M.
You know they basically did that in real life already, minus the death option, there was a Japanese game show where a guy was put in a room without clothes or food and had to get everything he needed through winning sweepstakes, he also needed to earn the equivalent of like 1,000,000 dollars to win and be free
The first game reminds me of the Japanese game show where a man was in isolation and could only get food and resources through sweepstakes until his prizes were valued at some high amount.

@@cloaksanddaggers89 Not everyone thinks to though.
Interesting
@@princessofhousenightstar there's no way this is real right? It was staged right?

THATS EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT
The Spin to Win (first game) sounds like the 90s Japanese show “Susunu! Denpa Shōnen” with Nasubi who was live-streamed for a year only relying on his winnings in the mail. Took him over a year for him to escape that nightmare of a show.
Darkside of show or Japan
i was thinking the same thing! the resemblance is uncanny (obvious horror game elements aside), and it makes for a really cool horror game premise
omg thats what i was thinking of too
Exactly what I was thinking!! It's eerily similar.
Dev here, I actually based it off of another Japanese film called Symbol, which has a similar premise. That reality show is creepy though. Japanese media is strange all around.
I love how the third game uses Undertale Music, and yet it’s so good that Mark doesn’t even question why it’s playing.
markiplier from ohio
Was looking for this comment lmao
The first game reminds me of a horrible true story of a japanese man who participated in a show where he was stuck in an apartment with nothing and could only get what he won in sweepstakes. All he had was magazines to send sweepstakes with, not even food. This went on for over a year and was livestreamed 24/7. They kept lying to him to make him stay longer. Eventually they let him out but he was traumatized to hell.
Nasubi was the name, and yeah, that was really messed up, I'm not sure how the production company got away with it
Pretty sure the game is inspired by it since you win the same items as he did
Exactly what I thought!!

I swear I thought he was gonna drop a heavy beat with "Welcome to the Ball Pit"
That game with the spin wheel gave me such a good idea for a horror short or even a full movie.
Someone trapped in a room with nothing but a bed and the wheel. The wheel has several options like food, water, toy, book, etc; but one option that says death. The goal is to survive for 30 days and win $1M.
You know they basically did that in real life already, minus the death option, there was a Japanese game show where a guy was put in a room without clothes or food and had to get everything he needed through winning sweepstakes, he also needed to earn the equivalent of like 1,000,000 dollars to win and be free
