I highly respect the "realistic ending" of the first game. Honestly, when high-quality scary games release, it should always offer you the possibility of turning back to were you came from and get an ending, just for the joke.
I love it more when right after leaving the character dies or something in a ridiculous twist of fate and bad luck (I think this is the case in the game Cat In The Box)
In the cases where leaving isn't an option, I'd like to see one where there are weapons lying about you could actually pick up. Personally, if I'm walking through a creepy place I'd prefer having a friggin' stick to swing at least. I've seen so many where there are knives, axes, etc. laying about but the protagonist seems to have forgotten how to pick things up. I know that "being defenseless is scarier" but weapons can give a nice (if inevitably false) sense of security that can be broken, amping up the terror.
It does that in one of the Far Cry games lmao, if you don't arrest the guy in the beginning of Far Cry 5 then you'll just go back home, it's quite the Easter egg 😂

For example, the orange shirt fits so well into the whole color scheme, yet it doesn't seem like it should. And the choice of hair color is just perfect choice, you know an artist did good on hair color whenever you don't actually notice the color of the hair, if you understand what I'm trying to say. She look's like she should have pink hair, as if it grows naturally from her head instead of being dyed.

I loved Josiah as an antagonist- someone who seems so nondescript and bored that it’s actually kind of shocking and scary when they become a threat. There’s something scary about people who are just completely disillusioned, especially when it comes to the supernatural stuff like those weird dreams.
Honestly weird game for me because Josiah is my brother's name. every time the name was said I couldn't imagine my brother straight up murdering people.
I love the realistic ending of the first game because I'm fairly certain the developer gets that some of us shout at the screen like, 'why are you investigating?! You're not a hero, you're food for this beast!!'

I never liked seeing mental illness and emotional health problems, especially suicide, being handled irresponsibly. I hate seeing it either being romanticized or dismissed or easily resolved as if it was a small bump that needed a "little pushing" and now they're all better! It could easily go downhill if it's not handled responsibly, but if it is created one day, and someone does handle it well, I would love to see this idea play out!

Okay, I am not nearly talented enough to make a horror game... But here's a concept. You wake up to a completely normal life. It's... too normal. But your family and friends begin to... act strangely around you. Uncomfortable with you. Avoiding being around you at all cost except to watch you from behind corners. Everything our gamer instincts tell us is it's them, they are being weird. But the horror game is for everyone else as you do things only a video game character can, the person they knew is gone, replaced by this strange entity that demands them to do a list of things that would only make sense to a video game. Exploring their own house, trying to find laundry, not knowing your own name or insisting you go by another one. It wasn't a horror game, until you played it
I love meta-stuff like this. Would definitely play, if I were one of the creative minds behind it I'd try to jam some good pop-culture references in there, like posters for The Thing and The Invasion of the Body Snatchers in a locker somewhere. XD

These were pretty good! The "realistic ending" was awesome, we had another game that didn't rely on darkness to unsettle the player, and the "Wait a minute, I don't have a daughter" was just stupid funny!

I never liked seeing mental illness and emotional health problems, especially suicide, being handled irresponsibly. I hate seeing it either being romanticized or dismissed or easily resolved as if it was a small bump that needed a "little pushing" and now they're all better! It could easily go downhill if it's not handled responsibly, but if it is created one day, and someone does handle it well, I would love to see this idea play out!

Okay, I am not nearly talented enough to make a horror game... But here's a concept. You wake up to a completely normal life. It's... too normal. But your family and friends begin to... act strangely around you. Uncomfortable with you. Avoiding being around you at all cost except to watch you from behind corners. Everything our gamer instincts tell us is it's them, they are being weird. But the horror game is for everyone else as you do things only a video game character can, the person they knew is gone, replaced by this strange entity that demands them to do a list of things that would only make sense to a video game. Exploring their own house, trying to find laundry, not knowing your own name or insisting you go by another one. It wasn't a horror game, until you played it
Now this would be a really interesting concept!
