Thank you for the excellent video! I got the JBL Club speakers and what a difference that made! I was going to replace the door speakers next but now won’t have to since it’s obvious the dash speakers were the weak spot in stereo system
Those connectors from the original tweeters you removed can be unwelded and welded onto the replacement speakers to retain the original wiring plug assembly. That way you do not cut any wires.
Great idea since the connector is only glued into place, I'm gonna add some extra wire and some Quick Disconnects, Receptacle for easy change out if needed. www.te.com/content/dam/te-com/catalog/part/025/201/842/2-520184-2-t1.jpg/jcr:content/renditions/product-details.png
You can also buy a pin removal tool and pop the pins out of the factory wiring plug and insert the new ones. Ok Now My question; Already have JBL sound system in my Highlander are these speakers better than what came in the JBL Equipped Highlander?
the headunit really doesn't send any bass signals to that 3.5 inch coax speaker you have there, even with the bass turned to max on the EQ. or perhaps it was the choice of song you used?
No - I decided that it was enough of an improvement to make it tolerable. After researching more I became convinced that I'd need to replace the hole head unit and spend $$$ to really get the system I'd want.
Mine is not with jbl system, crutchfield makes me confuse when i look for focal is690toy, it would say wont fit but when i looked on the infinity 6x9s, it will fit....
cizko619er1 They are a nice improvement over the factory speakers. In the Toyota Nation Forums, people tried several different types of speakers and these seen to be the ones that most said worked well for them.
What is the size of the speaker I believe is them like in the camry 2015 because I'm planning To upgrade it and did you note a difference with the speaker upgrade
For clarity, its not a perfect fit. The factory speaker mount is not round. The JBL Club 3020 is. You will have to whittle away some of the dashboard plastic to get the JBL tweeter to fit. That part is missing in the video.

Surprising difference, right!

5:46 LMAO "I apologize for whatever is on the radio"
I wish you did a before and after sound test on the JBL Clubs.
4:14 After crimping, you can use a heat gun on those connectors to shrink wrap the connections. No additional tape would be necessary.

I had the JBL premium, and yes, they do.

Wow I didn’t believe that size fit. I’m glade it dose!!
What are the ohm ratings on this speaker and the original? And do you know if it's wired in series or parallel with the door speakers?
Could add a video for the center speaker and rears etc if ypu changed those as well? How does this compare with factory speakers?
Did you check the polarity?
Wich capacitor do you recommend ?
"whatever was on the radio" 😂
Do you have any idea which wire is positive and which is negative on the right hand dash?
So on the factory wiring the black is negative (small terminal) and the gray/white is positive (wide terminal)?
Do you find there is too much treble now?
No I haven’t noticed that. The system as a whole would be better with upgrades, but I’ve been happier with it than before doing this little change.
did u ever upgrade the door speakers?
No - I decided that it was enough of an improvement to make it tolerable. After researching more I became convinced that I'd need to replace the hole head unit and spend $$$ to really get the system I'd want.
