  • Here's how I make my kick drums in LSDj. I'm doing this on an emulator but it's perfect for DMG Gameboy. Making chiptunes is fun! I learned this trick from awesome artists Chipocrite and Electric Children. We have bandcamps, get some music!

i know this is an old video but that kick drum wasn't played in context. you forgot to add that the waveform needs to be change from a sawtooth (which is probably the least effective shape for a kick), and that the cutoff and Q also need to be tweaked. you had definitely made these tweaks to the kick in the actual track. i hope you weren't being intentionally misleading!
also if the synth is set to manual then the final volume in the synth edit screen will have no effect because it's not cycling through the frames :)

This is pretty much the kick sound I've been searching for.
Thank you, good sir! You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Pretty new to the GB but it looks like you would need to have added some hardware for the filter for this sound to really work?

Your shirt is so damn sexy I wish I could have bought it when it was sold DX Nice short simple tutorial as well, I never thought of getting LSDj for an emulator so I have yet another thing lined up on my to do list of things to do to be a great artist. Thanks!
