Wonderful as always. Erudite, full of love, eager to share his insights with the public. And yet such humility and graciousness. How blessed we are to have him especially in such an intimate one-on-one virtual setting. 👍❤️
Sir Andras Schiff is one of the greatest musicians alive today, not only for his extensive knowledge of Bach's music, but for his musical vision in general ,and his enormous ability to appreciate the beauty of art. I agree with him in saying that Bach is the greatest composer who ever lived. Thank you for sharing this extraordinary video.
I have come to learn Bach and find joy in playing his music. I am indebted to all involved in this project for showing where to start and experience the work of Bach as a multi-sensorial exercise that inspires life long learning.
I listened to and enjoyed Bach without understanding much of his music. However, the more I learn about it, the more I love his compositions. I am very grateful to András Schiff for making some of his knowledge available to the public.
Bach. Ich wünsche Ihnen viel Erfolg auf Ihrem Klavierweg! A. Because in this life just a few things could be called as timeless, bach music is transcendent, why? Because it has passed so long time and new generations still being touched by his music, and it would take more than an entire life to know all his works there so many an they all are too good to be true, but it is true thanks Bach
That's exactly the point, my dear: The music of J.S. Bach is that much perfect and divine to my ears and soul, that I never get tired of playing even only two bars for 3 times half an hour each day and this for 6 weeks in a row. So I play his music over and over and over again, and feel myself evolve into this eternal realm of beauty and perfection. J.S. Bach's music can become a way of life. It certainly has become mine.

This guy is a blessing for all us music lovers 💙
One couldn't express it better: a blessing, indeed.
Not a blessing for struggling pianists trying to do similar 😮
Herr Schiff gives us a very worthy masterclass.

I L O V E the lectures by András Schiff. They have as high a quality as his playing!

what a great video! thanks for sharing this:) is this also available somewhere with better audio quality?
What range did the clavichord have?
Usually 4-1/2 octaves from C - F3. So it can play everything in the Well Tempered Clavier.
Thank you.
so good
More!😊👍
Sir Andras Schiff, please 😊
It should be "passus duriusculus" and "stretto", not "stretta" ;-)
Hahahhaha
🙄😆🙄🤦🏻
still not amused to play Bach on a piano, its became fast tinkling
Why master? we mortals don't deserve your wisdom.

This guy should learn to play jazz。Where's the beef of playing the same sheep music up and down the entire life ???

What are you talking about? Did you accidentally click on this video perhaps?
You have a point - but Bach's music remains the greatest ever written. Maybe that's a better point in favor of still playing such music.

Commovente .
