Yup I’d say I’m very lazy and I’m not obese anymore. Laziness is more a personality trait separate from fatness, however, being very fat is going to physically dampen your energy. I’ve known high energy exuberant fat people always on the go but I’d bet they’d be a force of nature if they weren’t fat. My lazy self was more lazy obese but back then it often wasn’t by choice, I’d just get tired or my back would ache. Now, me sitting around is a choice but if I have to spring up and do something I don’t experience the pain and fatigue from my body weight. That feeling like you’re lugging a bunch of weight behind you while doing mundane things can be demoralizing and annoying so it’s nice not having that
I really struggle with low energy and muscle tone levels, seasonally, but I still walk for at least hour and a half a day and run errands because when you let yourself rest it all piles up real quick and becomes overwhelming and depressing to exist with in the same space even if you actively avoid your mess. Moving on daily basis has kept my weight in check despite me eating in slight comfortable for winter surplus. So yeah, if you lack any willpower to do what needs to be done, you’ll get disordered and undertrained downhill. Same goes for lazy partners. If you clean for your partner, work, and then contribute to your own self-care, that’s someone reaping profits of your over contribution and donation of your lifetime to the tidiness of your shared living space.
At my heaviest I was no where near as active as I am now. Even if you look at my steps I average about 2-3k steps a week now I’m averaging 10k. Apple Health doesn’t lie 😂. I was just moving from one place to sit to another. I wouldn’t walk to places if it was 20 minutes away now I do. I have enough energy to do it now but my fatigue made me lazy or inactive
As a blanket statement it's a grave disgusting insult. I wasn't lazy at 275 lbs and not at 220 now. I can burn off 900 kcal in under 2 h. That ain't lazy. Lazy is based on the idea that you can outrun a bad diet aka the pound of chocolate I had after that. The discipline to not do that is something else. Undisciplined doesn't equal lazy. Of course there are lazy obese people.
I think fat can be correlated with laziness to some extent, but not always. it takes so much consistency to not be fat. a single meal a week can keep the most active fat person fat, despite them not being lazy. but id also say I am more likely to take shortcuts when overweight, ex. eating out, not taking the stairs, etc. but I still might not be "lazy". my time is occupied with things other than making healthy food choices and working out.
I’m not going to take advice about thinking critically from a woman who denies that gravity impacts joints.
