Same problem here. Whenever I record there's just too much background noise
This used to drive me crazy as well. The only real solution is to buy a direct plug in device. I got whats called a "Scarlett Focusrite" and it plugs directly from your guitar into your computer. It will only record the instrument, you could be talking in the background and nothing picks up. (It works best with a mac though and garageband)... They cost like $120 but I highly recommend.

A audio interface is what Gordon was talking about, and they're great! That and a DAW (Garage Band is a good one but there's MANY more!) is the true beginning of your music making career, I love messing around in there! Being able to put reverb and layer tracks on top of each other and create real, actually great sounding instrumentals! I love it! Pretty much the best music I've ever actually created, I suck at lyrics and transitions from verses and key changes and all that crazy stuff! Maybe one day!
