❤❤❤Wow what a great meal from Walmart! Thank you for sharing! As a retired senior citizen, I find this very helpful. Please post more videos like this. It is so helpful. ❤❤❤
"Please, let other people be happy" So simple, but important! This is just one of the reasons I subscribe to your channel. I love your positive and kind nature.
As someone who is sensative to sweets, too, I have learned to like my sweet potatoes with just some butter and cinnamon; have been eating them this way for years. Had some of my sweet potato left from supper and gave hubs the rest of my plate, thinking he would reject the sweet potato because of the cinnamon on it. BUT, he ate it and loved it! He said it just added something "extra" to it, enhancing the flavor. So yay! It has taken awhile to wean him off all the sweetening in foods. I like it, too, but as diabetics we need to watch it. I am off all my insulin now, and hubs is way, way down on his daily needs. And by the way, sweet Sister, when I started watching you a couple years ago I was one of those who questioned how the quantity of food you prepare for your meals could sustain your growing (quickly!) boys. As I have lost 100 pounds myself this last year, I have become convicted about the quantity of food I was needlessly eating, and could certainly see how this feast could easily feed 8 people! THANK YOU, BROOKE, for your patient persistence in teaching us sustainable eating! Kudos x a million!!!❤❤
Brooke! This is off topic, but I am so excited! After watching your Easter video, I was prompted by You-tube to watch one of your emergency meal prep videos...and I decided to throw 3 together and drop them off at a local roadside blessing box, last night. Being that today is Good Friday many needy kids are not getting breakfast and lunch at school, and EBT benefits don't get deposited until April 1st, I realized some families are likely struggling. The box was filled with lots of random canned goods already...but not much that could actually make a meal. It's still cold here in New York so my first one actually had a pound of mozzarella cheese, flour tortillas and 2 cans of tomato soup. The second was your canned chicken and corned bread casserole with cream of chicken soup and a can of green beans. The last one was a box of pancake mix, shelf bacon and syrup. I dropped them off at 5:30 pm. By 9pm, curiosity got the best of me, and I drove by to see if they were taken. They were gone! Your meal kit idea is genius because the people can just grab and go, with everything they need, without having to paw through a bunch of random cans at a roadside box! Thank you so much for the inspiration. I am blessed. I don't struggle. I am going to make this a monthly habit. You're changing the world, my friend!
I try to do that too. Include everything in donation needed to make a whole meal. My favorite is Walmart's 2 pound box of pancake mix where all you need to add is water. I then add a 24 oz bottle of pancake syrup and a can or two of Spam and there you go! Breakfast or breakfast for dinner!
Great idea, adding Spam. I had the shelf bacon, but Spam would probably be more filling. Next month I will do that. And maybe a can of peaches! Thank you!
❤❤❤❤❤thank you! I'm solo parenting with 4 small kids, two of the kids are severe nonverbal Autism and I'm hurting for money. This was a blessing video for me to watch. God bless you. I'm going to do this exact meal. Thank you, thank you
The deviled eggs - tell Dusty that how he likes it - it is this traditional Estonian recipe, this is exactly how we do it here :D Nice and simple is sometimes the best. One additional component I recommend is chopped dill. It gives nice flavor to the mixture. 5+ recipe. By the way do you grow dill in USA? I like to preserve dill in this way, and it gives sooo much favor to different dishes through the year. I wash the dill, chop it very finely, also the thinner stalks - they give flavor the same way as leafy parts. Then in bowl, I mix it with lots of sea salt (best if you fine grind the salt before). And then start to fill in small jars. I use tiny jars, about 50ml each and stuff tightly the dill+salt mixture inside, really pack it in. And voila, you have fresh dill through the year in fridge. You need to keep it in fridge or it will go bad. But it is sooo worth it. I use it in sauces, salads, when boiling potatoes, in soups - basically everywhere. Wanted to share this, because noone talks about this way to preserve dill and it is so good way to give flavor to dishes.
Happy Easter! Have a blessed weekend. Tell Kylen I said I’m so happy he decided to be saved because this weekend we celebrate the salvation sacrifice and his saviour is risen! 💖. Happy 1st Easter as a saved Christian, Kylen! PS I’ve been loving asparagus season. Good job on dinner, Brooke! And thanks for the tutorial on the pineapple.
Dusty......you basic deviled egg guy! ❤😂 I like ranch and bacon bits and a little spicy mustard in mine. There is room in this world for everybody to enjoy their choices right? Kindness matters
Great meal! I look forward to watching you and the kids. You have got the sweetest boys. You have raised them well. I’m a school bus driver so I know good kids when I see them!!! Have a wonderful Easter everyone! ❤
Happy Easter guys! Next time you do the eggs do Dusty's first then add what you like to yours - win win! You have to get a pineapple cutter - it cores it and cuts it into rings and it so easy - look on temu! That meal looks amazing - I'd say it would have cost more than $15! Your family makes me so happy, such a wholesome channel! God Bless x
I'm always amazed at the amount of food you make... and it always looks so amazing. You should make a budget-friendly cook book I'm sure it would be a hit!
This meal looked so good! Glad you did the Walmart $15 Easter dinner Challenge. The dollar tree meal looked good too but the ham dinner just makes me think Easter we have a very similar dinner we will have ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, deviled eggs, potato salad, brussel sprouts, rolls and pineapple cream cheese cake for dessert. I hope you have a wonderful Easter!
I think pumpkin pie spice usually has cinnamon in it. I enjoy sweet potatoes with brown sugar and cinnamon sometimes, others I like savory, just cumin and sea salt, or garam masala.
remember you can cook down the outside of the pineapple and the core and have pineapple juice.....you filter it and can add sugar or honey if not sweet enough or use it in other recipes......Here's hoping your EASTER Sunday is all you hope it will be........
This one looked far more appealing to my tastes and far more filling than the other one. You hit all of the food groups. I couldn't believe how much ham was in that little vacuum sealed package. It sure was deceiving. You did great!
Your children's reactions were great! lol Every chef yearns for reactions like your boys have. I've never actually heard of Sunshine Salad before but it sounds really tasty!
Happy Easter Brooke! I have been so inspired by your pantry week theme that I decided that I would do a pantry Easter dinner and it was such a success! Pulled frozen Chicken thighs from the freezer and baked them with honey and mustard and lits of PEPPER. Roasted potatoes with herbs a friend brought back from Lithuania. Steamed broccoli, honey biscuits from scratch (an old recipe found in my recipe box) and a family classic dessert called peaches and cream that was always found on Grandma's kitchen counter on Saturday mornings. Bless you, dear bestie and I hope you have your feet up for the rest of the day!
That was incredible, Bestie! Only you could do all of that and have leftovers. You're the best and I love you, Brooke. God sent you to make the world brighter and you are a spotlight. Have a Happy Easter and be blessed always, my Southerland Squad! xoxo
I am obsessed with seeing how many "holes" egg plates have. I got one for a wedding present that has 15 slots. Why 15? I can understand an even number more (or less) than 12. But an odd number? You get even numbers when you half eggs so I either have 1 empty slot (if I cook 7 eggs for 14 halves) or I have an extra half egg with no where to go (if I cook 8 eggs for 16 halves). My OCD kicks in BAD whenever I use that egg plate 😊😂😂
Love the talking arms 😂 want to go have coffee? You just seem like the type of gal that wants to have coffee with some girls chitchat and have a fun time you’re gonna be becoming one of my favorite influencers.
I love your videos and your sweet family. I think the Wal-Mart Easter meal was more appealing than the Dollar Tree meal. Happy Easter weekend to you all. Btw, the ham works really well for ham and beans in the crockpot and as a breakfast meat with eggs too.
I never poke holes in my potatoes, especially sweet potatoes. The syrup drains out of them more when you poke the holes. The holes really aren't needed. You will get the same result if you do not add the holes, but less of a mess with the syrup draining out, imo. Just a helpful hint. I love your content, Brooke!! I watch all of your videos!
You are so much fun and adorable too! What a great dinner at a great price. We don't have an Aldi or big Walmart here in Northern California, so our prices aren't nearly that good unfortunately. Thx for sharing your sweet family!❤️
Dinner looks so good as your making it... Nothing better than an inexpensive Easter Meal..... I love it that the boys enjoy asparagus.. great meal from Walmart....❤ Thats awesome for 15 dollars... Great job Brooke... You did so good.. Have a Happy Easter to you and the family .. enjoy the weekend and the lord above that sacrificed for us ... Love yall.. 🙏🥰❤️🌹
It looks delicious !!! This, this is why you are my favorite channel to watch. The boys reactions especially Breydons obvious delight in his dessert and the baby doing his signature faint truly tickles me and makes my day. God bless you and your family and Happy Easter.
I live in Canada and that just wouldn’t be possible, Just to buy one small turkey breast was 50 dollars Trudeau wants us all to starve and just forget about Easter he doesn’t like Christians, Your video was inspiring tho .✨🙏✨🇨🇦
My mother used to sprinkle paprika on half the devil eggs because she liked a little kick and my dad liked them like Dusty. It was easy to see which were the spicier eggs and choose accordingly.
A delicious looking spread. I would love to try some sunshine salad we love pineapple around here. Sometimes plain Jane is the best (get it? because my name is Jane) lol. I’m a dork.
Great job Brooke wonderful meal everything looked delicious ! I’ve looked several times at my Walmart when I’ve seen you use the packages of ham pieces , my Walmart does not carry them is what they tell me when I ask after I r looked up and down the meat section ! I’ve told them Walmart does carry them because my friend in Tennessee buys them at her Walmart they just shrug their shoulders and walk away ! 🤷♀️🤷🏻!! I hope y’all have a blessed Easter !! God bless ❤️🙏🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈🐣🐇✝️✝️
Those filled eggs must be lovely! One of my all time favorite cold plate foods. I could eat ten of those hearty and well filled eggs. I use the same recipe but I mash the yolks through a sifter, and I add a little pinch of cayenne, and also some sort of cajun seasoning if I feel fancy. It is so good! Plain, but good :3 ❤Have a lovely Easter darling! God bless you and your family!
Looks so easy and so yummy 😋. I was thinking 🤔 it would be nice to put the recipes each boy likes in his own recipe book. Then when they move out , They have mom's recipes to cook. God bless to you and your family. Easter blessings ✝️🐇🌷🐣❤
I really enjoy these budget meals, especially for the holidays. I was surprised with how much fresh fruit and veggies you got. Excellent job, Brooke….and all my favorite foods as well. I too put a little relish in my deviled eggs and mustard powder and bit of paprika on top. 👏🏻 Blessings to you and yours this Easter. Barbara
Just wanted you to know how much I love your content and all you tips and tricks. Happy Easter to you and your beautiful family! Random, but I love your vintage egg tray its very pretty!❤
Just thought I'd share my favorite way to do baked potatoes, regular and sweet, is by far in the instant pot. I am also a senior and appreciate the simple easy meals. Fighting Stage 4 cancer, so s
One days cooking is too much for me.
Yesterday I got a full spiral ham at Kroger for $7.50 and their Pineapple was .88 cents and Asparagus is ,99 cents. Have a wonderful Easter
Ohh!!! That’s even cheaper! That’s awesome!
Same here. They've got great sales right now.
I enjoy you cooking, but watching your boys reaction and their gratitude is priceless.
"Please, let other people be happy" So simple, but important! This is just one of the reasons I subscribe to your channel. I love your positive and kind nature.
That’s a freaking amazing dinner for $15. Well done, and super simple!

"If you don't like them, blame Dusty" 🤣🤣🤣Way to throw Dusty under the bus!!!
Dusty for president❤❤❤
@@melodyphillips2388 It is normal I guess. I have no egg control either. I could eat a dozen of those eggs 😅

This was so much better than dollar tree and you got way more for your buck. Happy Easter!
I add pickle juice - a tad- and lots of mustard to my eggs- put paprika on top
The color of the egg yolks is amazing, just goes to show the difference between home grown/raised and commercially produced!

If you like green olives, I love to make my deviled egss with chopped green olives in them instead of relish. Yummy to me
What an amazing spread! And it all looks delicious! Hope you and all your family have a beautiful Blessed Easter
You hit it out of the park! I didn't realize they sell ham that way, and I'm gonna try that Sunshine Salad for sure.

Just thought I'd share my favorite way to do baked potatoes, regular and sweet, is by far in the instant pot. Just wash them poke them layer in the instant pot, add 1 cup of water, put lid on and seal, and then set for 20 minutes on high pressure, let natural release for 5 minutes and you're good to go
