- TV for dogs to watch! Dogs are social animals and want to be with other dogs while you're away. Music for dogs is okay for highly reactive dogs, but most prefer to watch shows with dogs interacting with other dogs. They learn social skills, it's entertaining, and feels like they're with friends.
Designed to avoid overstimulating your dog, but check how your dog reacts before leaving the video running (don't show this video to dogs that over-react).

I work from home and put this on for my dog to keep him entertained. So it becomes the background sound for me as well, and now I feel like I know everyone lol. It probably keeps me from feeling isolated too hearing human voices in the background (the ONLY downside of working from home) Always have a laugh when the dogs are being bozos (pooping in the pool and Stella running off with the towels LMAO) Sometimes I put the TV on low power and let it play while I fall asleep. Never skip the ads either. Happy to help make the shelter extra money!
@thestyledabode Yes, I understand the benefit of having it playing in the background and the various commentary on the funny things the dogs do: "Stanley, off!", "Don't poop in the pool... Ohhhhhh.", and all the things people talk about during all those hours that we're out there in the yard. I feel like I'm bringing the audience with me. Sometimes it's fun and sometimes it drags on, but the staff, the volunteers, the dogs, and I are always there. As far as money for the dogs goes, it's thousands of dollars a month that viewers like you bring in. So we thank you for watching!

@@bigsarge8795 Yeah, it was great for him to get into a home. He was stuck in his kennel for months. At least he got to go to playgroup most days. Also, the volunteers walk the dogs at least every other day, often every day.
OMG! I cannot thank you enough for this channel. I have to admit I too enjoy sitting here watching your dogs interact with one another. My girls can watch your channel for hours.
Glad to hear it! I think it's an ideal channel to play in the background because 1) it's dogs, 2) you never "miss" anything needed to understand what's going on, 3) there's an ideal amount of background talking to make it blend in without being distracting.
I must say that putting this on for my 10 month old is the highlight of her day. My dogs don't care for the videy but my daughter gets so excited.

I have a few dogs and whenever I need to leave the house they hang out in the master bedroom and I always play your videos on the big screen in that room. they don't really watch the screen much but the sounds are comforting to them
i have a japanese dog (shiba inu), a few chinese dogs and a big dark colored GS and they've all seen your videos😇

54:11 I went outside to hang Christmas lights and came back to hear my dog listening to this music. He seemed very relaxed. 😂
I was just talking to someone yesterday about trying to test dogs' reaction to the Indian music I've been using at times. I pick whatever music feels right for that particular point in the video. I suspect that dogs would like classical Indian music because it mimics a lot of sounds dogs make and seems calming to me.

As a long time dog person, I must admit I look forward to new videos going up so I can watch the new dog interactions. Fascinating to see. What is the word on the dog called Chandler. I have at seen him for quite a while but I don’t think he shows as adopted. I enjoyed his somewhat out -of-control antics and attempts to dominate everyone in the arena despite the fact he is just a big clown. I so want him to mature into a great dog for some family. 31:17

Why did Boo go to the side yard ?. I may have missed it, but I didn't see him do anything wrong.
I went back and looked through that video and saw that Boo was in the side yard with Eve. It's likely that the handler was seeing how they get along together in order to co-house them in the same kennel. Boo is a well behaved dog and I can't imagine him causing a lot of trouble. Eve was also an easy going dog, so co-housing them would have made sense. They're both in foster homes now.
Another reason for going into the side yard is to protect a dog from the other dogs, usually while waiting for the offending dog(s) to go back to their kennels.

Anyone know how I can get youtube to stop checking if I am still watching after an hour or so? If I play this when I'm not home, then I can't click "yes i'm still watching" and then the video gets cut short :(
TH-cam last year said that there's no way to turn it off. It sounds like there's some way to turn it off with TH-cam Premium. Someone needs to invent a TV remote for dogs using a limited number of dog buttons (like one for switching input, one for answering this question...). Then you could teach your dog to keep the video going.

If it's due to a Roku box, then this might work:

What breed is Red? My boy looks almost identical but we are unsure of his breed.
Red's notes say that he's a "Red and White German Shepherd". That doesn't seem right, with his ears and short hair, but I'm not a dog breed expert at all.

I don't want to make negative comments about the staff, but I'll say this: using a spray bottle is approved by the playgroup behavior experts in certain circumstances. I'm not sure exactly which incident you're referring to, but I'd say it's possible I would agree that the spray bottle was used in a way that I disagree with. I personally don't like talking about dogs as things. Based on my experience and training from wonderful experts on dogs, I've seen that dogs are complex, very intelligent beings with an emotional state and psychology that is fragile like humans. However I'd say all of the staff and volunteers who work extensively with the dogs have certain behaviors that they don't like and will be candid about talking about it.
