When this (the song) first came out, I didn't exactly know how I felt about it. But coming back and listening to it, it's grown on me. And I've come to really take in the message. He wants to continue in his craft in order to keep living. At the beginning, just like most of us think, we feel that the benefits we get from our work (in Hope's case it's money and fame) are what makes everything worthwhile. But after you get it, the ecstasy lasts for a moment, and inside, you're back to square one. And it's much worse this time because right now, you don't know what will satisfy that insatiable hunger for something deep within you. And at this juncture, many resort to doing things that are clearly detrimental to their health and life. But Hope wants to bring back everything to the music and the people he was privileged to meet around him (BTS, Army, and other friends we may not know about). I think every one of us is able to relate to this in more ways than one. We're all after something that we feel will make life complete and worthwhile. But after it's been handed to us, we feel even emptier than before because our hope has also been taken away. The hope we had at the beginning that made us feel that after getting "so and so" or getting to "so and so" point, everything would fall into place. But reality is that we live in a broken world where to get something, we have to give up another. You can't have everything. But you CAN have the most important things if you're willing to let the trivial things go when there's a choice to be made. Those important things are people. But I pray that someway, somehow, the One who created would satisfy us. I believe that the Maker of it all is the only one that can keep us centered. I'm just relating back to my personal experience. Anywho, I really like the song. I liked the beats, but I've come to appreciate the lyricism 💜
